I know there are numerous threads about the refrigerator issue going on right now. I was thinking it might be a good idea to just have one thread where people can report what they're finding at the resorts as we go along. No debate, no suggestions, no complaining, no questioning.

Just simply where you are (or where you were and what dates), did you ask for a fridge, did you get one, if you didn't get one any compensation given, etc.? Any observations at all about the status at your current resorts.

Basically...."Just the fact, ma'am."!

****I will try to summarize what everyone reports in this first post. Will include resort, room/section if given, date, and status. In most cases, if marked "NO FRIDGE" the room may have a fridge but unplugged with a note from Disney not to plug in, so not usable.

AKL CL (4th Fl Arusha) had refrigerator, 7/23

ASSp - had refrigerator, 7/21

BC (5th Fl) - had refrigerator, 7/31
- had refrigerator, 7/27
- had refrigerator, 8/2

BWI - had refrigerator, 8/3

CBR (Jamaica) - had refrigerator, 7/13
(Barbados) - connecting rooms, one with fridge, one without 7/29

CR (Garden Wing) NO FRIDGE, 7/22
(Garden Wing) NO FRIDGE, 8/4 (and had put in request)

Poly CL (Hawaii) had refrigerator, 7/20
(Standard room) had refrigerator, 7/29
(Tokelau) - had refrigerator, 7/31
(Aeteoroa) - had refrigerator, 7/27
CL - had refrigerator 8/3

POP (80s Bldg) NO FRIDGE 7/29
(Preferred room) NO FRIDGE 7/29

POR 2 rooms, had refrigerator, 7/15
(Royal Room) NO FRIDGE, 7/30
-NO FRIDGE, 7/31 (wait list for fridges being kept)

YC NO FRIDGE, 7/30
(CL) - had refrigerator, 7/25 (but hearing other rooms don't)

****I apologize for not keeping up with the summary here. Had some things come up and then left for our own Disney vacation. Looks like lots of people are posting, though, with some great info!!!!!

I second this. I am 13 days out from my trip and was looking for this exact information from trip reports.

Poly CL (Hawaii building)--we had a refrigerator upon check in, 7/20
AKL 4th floor (CL)--Arusha Savanna view--also had a refrigerator upon check in, 7/23

Thanks for the update. We check in at POP in 18 days so was wondering what the status is.

enjoy your visit!!

I should clarify the fridge is there but has a note on it not to use. However, it was plugged in so either the family before me ignored the issue an plugged it in or maintenance messed up. I called the front desk and they did confirm it is a safety issue and that they would send someone to unplug it and wrap up the cord. I assume it was a family who was on the know because the fridge was pulled out of the cabinet which I've heard is the "fix" to make it where it won't catch ok fire but I'd rather be safe then have the use of a fridge.

We check in at the Poly (not CL) on Wed. I'll report back whether or not we have one. I've read that that CL rooms at the Poly all have them, but haven't heard whether or not standard rooms do. I'll let you know!

What date were the refrigerators removed? Seems like we have reports from before/during the removal.

Checked in at POP today. No fridge in preferred room. (Well there is one but sign saying not to use it). We will be going to POR wed. So I will find out about that location then.

We are here at Poly right now in a standard room..and we have a fridge in our room. We didn't have to ask for one, it was there when we arrives. It appears to be the old style, so maybe they haven't changed them out yet at the Poly?

I was in Contemporary Garden Wing last week and my room did not have a fridge. Others in my party had a working fridge in their room, but I don't know if it was new or old.

Maybe an update on the first post as a list. The staus of the fridges would help. It would save scrolling through every post/page as I think this will get to be a long thread.

I'm running out the door soon for most of the day, but I'll try to do this later this evening. Good idea!

So keep the check-ins coming!

We are at POR in a royal room. There is a fridge but it is unplugged and it has a note on it not to use it. Definitely a bummer. The ice machines have been empty a couple of times since lots of people are filling their coolers. We tried to call for one but they said they only are giving ones to people with medical needs. Oh well. Hopefully it will be resolved next time. Thank goodness for refillable mugs!!

Just curious, are they reimbursing you the $15 a night like it was rumored? We are bringing a cooler in case we don't have a fridge but it won't do much good if the ice machines are empty. :( With no fridge and no ice for the cooler, this will add a significant amount of money to our two week trip in breakfast food and drinks for the parks.

I, too would like to know the procedure for reimbursement. I understand you must "request" a fridge to get a credit for not having one. When is this request made? On arrival?

What is the timeline for the replacements?

They said it could take at least four months. I'm hoping as it progresses, there's another update with a less vague timeline. We're hoping to have one for our mid-November trip.
