A rabbi, a priest, and a pastor board the Wonder: we're back!

:lmao: for lunch or breakfast. I don't think I could sell that as a dinner to anyone...except me. Maybe Eric.

Mine would rather have that than my cooking. Now if Michael is home, that would never fly. :rotfl:

UGH on lettuce wrap. No thank you. Typically I will have a turkey burger anyway (or black bean, or garden) on whole wheat or one of those sandwich slims. No In n Out or Habit here.

If you come across a Habit, they're amazing.

Ah, little kid leftovers. Yeah, those were dangerous! Now why doesn't it surprise me you cut the crusts off :lmao:

 I never said I cut the crusts, they just didn't eat them. ;) I remember days when literally all I ate were little remnants of their food. Blah.

I have leftover issues. My dad would save EVERYTHING. Like 2t. of hamburger meat or one slice of apple. All in old margarine or yogurt containers. You never knew where the margarine or yogurt was or what you'd find in the container. My siblings and I all have issues now...CLEAR tupperwear only and no leftovers. LOL! Jeff loves them and I've had to learn to cook extra to cover his lunches.

:rotfl2: Mine too! My dad would actually marry (restaurant term) jars of jelly. It didn't even have to be the same kind. :scared: I remember plastic containers of bacon drippings and that's what he'd cook with. He was a fantastic cook but also gave me my love of fat. I save containers too and it drives M inane. It's a win win. ;)

That's sweet to make leftovers for his lunch. M does the same for me. :lovestruc

flying. BTDT on the driving, no thanks!

Darn. Was wondering if you'd be coming this way or close. Not sure if this was a family road trip.

You know, that place they make coins? :lmao:

No clue. Swear. :lmao:

It's a steam train and I'm fairly sure she booked the dinner one.

That sounds like fun! You mean you haven;t checked the menu online? :scared1:

Evan's being weird. He says he's not anti-hike around here...just "on vacation" that hiking isn't a vacation activity.

I'm on Evan's side. tell him the weird internet lady agrees with him.

It's a waste of an evening with the desparate housewives. Not really, that's a bit harsh but...a little bit true too. I get the showing off but it is REALLY not how we want to spend our evening.

I totally get it. When my in-laws have company we have to make the obligatory stop by. I bet we'll all do the same thing.

I have yet to figure that out. Jeff and I were chatting the other day about this, she's just not a spontaneous person, everything is planned to the T's.

Which makes it a good thing she is a pastor's wife. :lmao:

And the plot thickens.....:hyper:

Yeah. I guess. For me there are pools and great dining elsewhere in towns I actually like. I'll go, heck I will be there in Sept for work but it's never my first choice and I really don't like it for work at all.

Vegas isn't everyone's cup of tea. I've got friends who love it like I do and others who hate it. I've never been except for fun so I have nothing to compare it too.

Hmmm.......Of the Fab 5, I love Mickey and Pluto and Joshua loves Mickey and Donald. My all time favorite is Lady though. Joshua also really likes Steamboat Willie.

How about you? I know you like Donald but any other favorites?

I thought Steamboat Willie was a bad guy? If course one can like bad guys too.

I had to think a bit, I like so many of them. Aside from Donald and of course Mickey, Pooh and friends probably top the list. and Tinkerbell.

:donald: 174 days!!! :donald:

I missed yesterday's countdown! Extra dancing required.

I think so too but he loves the black and white.:thumbsup2

Pooh and friends are great too. I also love Cinderella, Gus Gus, and the Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather from Sleeping Beauty. Or as Chloe use to call her: Seeping Booty. :rotfl2:

How's your weekend? Are you having to work?

I think so too but he loves the black and white.:thumbsup2

Did you see the black and white fab five plushes they had out a few years ago? They were so cute, I had to get Donald, he was irresistible.

Sleeping Booty does have a different ring to it :rotfl: I haven't seen that movie in ages, I keep meaning to buy it. I'm still gathering them all on DVD.

How's your weekend? Are you having to work?

I had to work yesterday but was still able to hop over to the 'pick your own' farm I love and get some peaches. It was the first day for peaches and I look forward to them every year. How's your weekend going? I hope fabulously :)

Was that the tour you did with all of the pottery? And the different kinds of salsa? On your last cruise right? I may be getting your reports mixed up. :upsidedow

It was the one that had the museum exhibit, where we held the iguana, did the tequila tasting and lecture and then ate tacos with all the salsas.

I don't blame you. Mexico and her streets are not great for those with mobility issues. Lots of uneven stones and potholes. You ladies do just great on your excursions. I know you're looking at something a little more adventuresome during your next cruise in Fall 2014. Can't wait to see what you decide.

She wants to be able to do either a snorkeling or scuba excursion on that trip. I don't see us getting certified in the next year, especially if we end up moving.

So good news on the So Cal trip: M agreed however it's a mega budget trip with good reason. I'm okay with that though. I'm actually thrilled with that. :woohoo: Any trip to So Cal is a good trip. I have been perusing sites for Kids Eat Free deals etc etc....I did find out, Alison you'll like this one, that Kids Eat Free at Johnny Reb's (BBQ) in Long Beach on Tuesdays. :thumbsup2

Except Tuesday is the one night of the week that we can't make it (band night). How about you let us treat and we'll use our Entertainment coupon? You said everyone shares....their portions are huge enough we could order four dinners, get two free and be stuffed!

I love my friends. :goodvibes Only you all understand the importance of fuzzy math.

Of course we understand fuzzy math!

I also ordered the OC Entertainment Book. It was $5.99 and $1 for shipping. I'm going to use what I can and then give it to Alison if she wants it. Even one coupon will make up the $7. I'm sure we'll use at least that in 7 days.

I would have let you pilfer coupons out of my books for free! We get two LA and two OC books each year. Our band sells the books as a fundraiser. We can get them for all areas of the country so if you know of people who buy them anyways, tell them to buy them from us!

Oh I hear you there...Jeff's mom keeps trying to suggest and book all this stuff for Denver. All I want to do, all we can afford to do (and truly WANT) is to just hang out with them and enjoy their pool. She keeps trying to schedule us within an inch of our lives and WAY out of our budget. Yes, they all sound fabulous but not in the budget!!!!! Every time we see them it's go go go. Granted, we are go go go people but for once I'd like to just visit!

This is funny, we just got to my parents house yesterday, they knew we were going to the HS reunion last night, but when we arrived, my mom didn't quite know what to do. She had asked for a shopping list and all I could tell her was milk, white bread and coffee. At the last minute Fran added in some oranges from the Farmer's market and a few other produce items. My mom was really at a loss that we hadn't planned all the meals out in advance.

She went out on a limb and bought some Prime Rib Eye steaks at Costco and some pork chops and sent me a recipe someone had shared with her suggesting that we eat that for dinner one night. She felt a little better yesterday when I picked Potstickers and scallion pancakes from her freezer for late lunch, so she had that to work on.

This morning when Fran and I were up, she scheduled out the whole rest of our three days, what we are having for dinner, when we are going to the movies (Monsters U), when we are watching the DVD that Fran and I bought. It was rather comical, but I know she feels all better now! :rotfl:

The drama with the shorts had me :rotfl2: I hope that it all worked out!

I missed yesterday Pam. We spent all day on the water and with 2 extra teenagers all weekend. Hope you enjoyed your weekend.

:stitch: 172 days!!! :stitch:

I didn't see them. I bet they were darling.

Sleeping Booty does have a different ring to it :rotfl: I haven't seen that movie in ages, I keep meaning to buy it. I'm still gathering them all on DVD.

Same here. We were watching Disney movies last night and realized we are missing a few on DVD; Brave to name one. I can't believe with our many trips to Walmart we missed getting it.

I had to work yesterday but was still able to hop over to the 'pick your own' farm I love and get some peaches. It was the first day for peaches and I look forward to them every year. How's your weekend going? I hope fabulously :)

Yum, peaches! Did you make it over to get them? Pick your own farm sounds neat. We bought some young corn from a road side stand and will have that with dinner tonight.

It was a really nice weekend. The girls had their concert and then we had their friends over all weekend; one from AZ and the other's parents went out of town so it was fun, lots of teenage girls laughing and eating all weekend.

It was the one that had the museum exhibit, where we held the iguana, did the tequila tasting and lecture and then ate tacos with all the salsas.

Ok, great. I thought I mixed it up. You're right, that't not something Joshua would enjoy. :thanks: I'm also guessing tasting tequila would be illegal for him and negligent for me. :rotfl:

She wants to be able to do either a snorkeling or scuba excursion on that trip. I don't see us getting certified in the next year, especially if we end up moving.

Can they certify you at the beginning of the excursion? I thought I read that some place but I could easily be mistaken.

Moving. pixiedust:

I forgot, darn. You are very kind to offer to treat but we'll figure something out. :goodvibes You are the sweetest though. Truly. Very giving. Kind. Speaking of Entertainment books, I did get the OC for $5 and you can have it after our trip. The coupons are good until Nov 30, 2013 and we won't be back. It's all yours. :thumbsup2

I'll do that. I have lots of friends who buy them. I always buy the Utah one. I'll buy from you next time. :thumbsup2

Sounds like a great weekend :)

Its just exciting and cruising, pun intended, by. ;)

I wish there was more to plan.

Did I read somewhere that you decided to do the park in Cozumel? Was it in your DVC report? I'm losing it. :rotfl:

:rotfl: you're right, it was on my TR. I think I'm going to leave the day open and if I wake up feeling the desire to swim in the ocean I'll hop a cab to Chankanaab. Of course that could change again before booking time  I keep going back and forth between wanting to be adventurous and being totally lazy. So this way I can choose the day of instead of being tied down to an excursion. Have I mentioned before that I can be quite fickle?

Have you decided what you guys will do?

:rotfl2: I knew I saw it. I just found it. That's exactly how I feel. I want to play it by ear but not get stuck. Isn't it feasible to just hop a cab and go to any close beach? I don't know what the port is like in Cozumel, only Cabo, and its easy to catch a cab to la playa. :beach: I need to do a little more beach research. I still keep thinking about that little jet boat excursion though too. :hyper: I just don't want a crappy quesadilla with all that great authentic Mexican food available. Quesadillas are my least favorite. I mean they're good but I can make one. Lol!

Are you fickle? I see it as laid back, go with the flow. :flower3:

It's easy to catch a cab in Cozumel. They have fixed prices but be sure you know what they are...we had a driver try to rip us off but we held firm. We took the taxi to Chankanaab for the Dolphin Discovery.

I just saw over there :) the only problem I foresee about catching a cab to a beach is how are you going to get back? I'm thinking that with Chankanaab they can call you a cab, but if you have a cab take you somewhere you won't have a telephone to call another one. The boat excursion looks really fun. You could always have the lunch and then go find an authentic place afterwards. We're there until 5:45 and the excursion is 4-4 1/2 hours. Depending on when it starts you could possibly have hours afterwards to find an early dinner.

Fickle since I can't make up my mind. Thank you :goodvibes

There are generally cabs all over when the cruise ships dock. They know who butters their break. I'm also thinking I can also ask them to come back. I wouldn't go to a beach without some sort of services, ya know? We did go to a place in Zihua to surf, Trancones, and paid our driver to stay with us all day. Best $40 ever. :thumbsup2

So many fun decisions to make. I wish all of life's decisions were like this.

I didn't realize we had until that late. :woohoo: I am so glad we are doing late dinner.

You're darling and don't come across as fickle. :goodvibes

Thank you. :goodvibes How did you like Chankanaab Park? So you didn't go through Disney? How was the Dolphin Discovery?

We didn't spend much time at the park. We did the Royal Dolphin swim and it was AMAZING!!! We booked on our own (I was on Royal Caribbean that trip). There were cabs waiting at the park...we didn't have to call anyone.

I guess I'm just picturing an empty beach by the road, makes sense to go to one with stuff around :rotfl:

I agree, I love planning for vacations!

I didn't realize we had until that late. :woohoo: I am so glad we are doing late dinner.

It's a pretty long day, 7:30-5:45. Make sure to get back at least 15 minutes early though, they're pretty strict with timing. Late dining gives a lot more flexibility on port days that's for sure.

You're too sweet, thank you :)

Thats what I was thinking. Port days for cruise ships are big money for the locals. Do you have any pictures? Please tell me more. :flower3:

Its the best! It adds to the length of the vacation. That's what I brought us all here. I can't believe I've been a member of this board for over 6 years.

I run a little on the anxious side if you haven't noticed. :hyper: I'm sure we'll be back by 4:00. :laughing:I hate rushing and don't want to rush for dinner.

Definitely, the anticipation and fun of planning make a trip seem even longer. I try to get mom involved in planning our trips but she's totally content to let me do all the work. Probably why I enjoy the boards so much, like minded people 'get it'.

I understand completely! I was very comfortable having a two plus hour cushion when we got back to the ship at Puerto Rico.

Pam, I'd for sure want some wiggle room with regard to getting back n bOrd. 2 hours sounds perfect. I can't even imagine what happens when someone if left behind. :scared1: :faint:
