Hi everyone! I have never done one of these before but it seems like so much fun I'm going to give it a whirl.

Who are we: Me (Amy/racinjunkie), dh (Steve), twin 15 year olds James and Kate

Travel plans there: We live in Baltimore and we're driving. Just last night we added on to our trip so here's the current plan: We leave on Friday 8/2 at 5am!!! We hope to arrive in Daytona by 7 or 8 that evening. We did the Priceline name your own price and got a great deal on the Hilton Oceanfront. We'll spend Friday night and Saturday night in Daytona. Sunday morning we're up bring and early and headed to WDW. We check in to ASMu on Sunday with 5 day base tickets and DDP.

Parks and ADRs:
Sunday 8/4: Epcot with dinner at Teppan Edo at 8:20pm
Monday 8/5: Magic Kingdom with dinner at Be Our Guest at 7:05pm
Tuesday 8/6: Hollywood Studios with dinner at House of Blues in DTD at
8:00pm
Wednesday 8/7: Animal Kingdom with dinner at Boma at AKL at 7:25pm
Thursday 8/8: Pool and DTD (most likely a load or two of laundry) with dinner at Raglan Road at 7:00pm
Friday 8/9: Magic Kingdom after Breakfast with Chef Mickey at 9:30am

After WDW and the trip home: We check out of ASMU on 8/10. My current plan is to hit DTD again for a few hours before heading back to Daytona. We'll send 8/10 and 8/11 nights in Daytona. On 8/12 we'll head for him at 5am hoping to arrive home around 7 or 8pm.

What's left to be done: Ummm... it feels like everything but it's not. All the toiletries are planned, purchased and packed.

Today 7/28: dh is play a gig with his band, I'm hoping to coax him into getting the suitcases out before he leaves but time is slipping away and that may fall to me. Set up reminders for dd to prerecord her you tube video she needs to have done before we leave so she can post on Friday from Daytona. Facebook message my brother (our official dog sitter) and my Mom (our backup dog sitter) and let them know our revised plans are official. Finalize the dog care instruction sheet.

Monday 7/29: Little dog to the groomer. He's a puppy and this is his first time. Finalize the kids' packing lists (need to revise them with the added days) and make dd a form to plan outfits...otherwise I'll be unhappy with her choices and that will lead to conflict LOL. Call to reschedule pedicures for me and dd which were schedule for Friday. Call to reschedule dd's guitar lesson which is supposed to be on Friday.

Tuesday 7/30: LAUNDRY!!! and clean

Wednesday 7/31: LAUNDRY!!! and clean Renew library books so they'll be due after we get back.

Thursday 8/1: PACK!!!

Wow some of that stuff I just added because I thought about it as I was typing LOL

Well, if anyone decides to follow along, I'll try to be interesting and I plan to post lots of pics. I'm contemplating a dining review so I should have plenty of food pics!!

Welcome!

And we have snag number 1... the puppy is sick for the very first time. Yes folks I've been barfed on this morning... so has the floor and my fav so far, the air vent LOL. You have to laugh right?
:rolleyes1

Amy,

I'm here and first!:cool1: I can't wait to follow along on your trip with you. We are leaving for the World on the 17th so this will help to make my wait go a little bit faster. :thumbsup2 I need to make a list of what still has to be done here too. I have been making notes on my phone when I think of things but I have to organize them a bit.:hyper:

I'm here to follow along as well. I hope you have a great time! We leave on the 16th!

count me in!!! (but you knew i'd show up!)

Taymacsmom, looks like we have something in common... my kids are 18, 16 and 5... same age differences as yours (except mine are girl, boy, boy)... oh, and a love for all trips DISNEY!!!

Amy, looking forward to your trippie!! I"ve never done a pre-live-post, just a post trippie, so I give you a lot of credit!

Don't forget to transfer your reward points if you have 'em!

Awesome gigi! It keeps life interesting doesn't it. I sent one child to college and one to kindergarten in the same week!!

Ironically, I am doing the same thing this September... I'm not sure which is going to be the most bittersweet as I'm not ready for either!!

Hello there my friend!! Happy you're hopping along!

Points are already transferred... I should have waited until closer but I wasn't going to use it anymore and then I did and now I only have $7 so I can't transfer...so I'm $7 to the good for my next trip ::yes::

Update... the puppy, who is due at the groomer at 7am tomorrow is still barfing...sigh...

dh did bring the suitcases up from the basement to the upstairs, foyer which is actually where I wanted them ;) I suggested he try them in the trunk to be sure they fit (I wanted to pack in soft sided bags) but he claimed no time. Methinks me sees a conflict coming on Thursday night as we're trying to pack the car... stay tuned.

dd has been invited to my mother's from tomorrow through Wednesday... there's good and bad in that idea... bad: I'll need 2 hours to get there then drive home tomorrow. good: she'll be out of the house and well occupied (she's getting over a bad breakup and needs some tlc right now.) bad: I'll have to do her laundry. good: I'll be able to do her laundry and get it done concisely. bad: considering she and I (hopefully) will have pedicures on Thursday morning and she has a pre-op physical on Thursday afternoon...she's going to have VERY limited time to pack...stay tuned

It will be so exciting to read along with your trip!

REALLY liking the looks of my to do list. I even checked off some things I had scheduled for tomorrow. I'm feeling much better about losing the 2 hours to take dd up to PA tomorrow. I'll work on a cleaning list in the morning after taking the puppy to the groomer and start knocking those things out.

It's about lunch time on Monday. The dog is at the groomer and dd has been delivered to PA. Pedicures are rescheduled.

Coming up:
Need to wet, fold and bag the other two Frog Togg's Chilly Pads. I did mine and dd's a while back and we've been using them here and there but ds and dh's are dried out.

Change sheets on my bed
Fold clean clothes
Load laundry baskets
Do dd's laundry

We're going out to dinner tonight because dh has what seems like a pretty good coupon for Buca di Beppo, we've never been, have any of you? I'm a little confused about the family style deal. In Disney they serve sides in addition to the entree but I can't figure out if that happens at this place or not...

Off to pick up the puppy from the groomer...

Buca di Beppo fan here!!! Family style in that every entrée is BIG, HUGE EVEN! But no, there are no "side" although a lot of the meals are "all inclusive" in that it's chicken, pasta and veggies all in one dish... or lasagna which requires no side... that kind of stuff. Salad is separate and does not come w/your meals nor do any of the apps, but every dish is made to be shared... and dessert is definitely shareable!

We love Buca!

Unfortunately (as you know) Buca was out of ravioli and this turned out to be a deal breaker for dh so I had a Jack Daniels burger from TGI Friday's.

Off to flip dd's laundry and then take ds to run at a nearby park (I'll walk while he's running.)

:stitch:

Today is my last free day LOL. I don't want to start our laundry (mine/dh) or cleaning until tomorrow and everything else is done.

I've been thinking about how to help dd while we're away. She's just been through this bad breakup and is struggling to not text her ex. So I thought about trying to only use my phone minimally but I have this thread to keep up and that's something I really want to do. So I think what I'm going to do is have her report to you sometimes. She'll be using my account so I'll just have her start with "Kate here..." I think she'll like that.

This sounds fun also if you will do photos with a camera you may could let her participate in helping with choice and upload of those each evening ;-) We have nooo problem with photos lol ....it's getting closer :-)

Here's a fun and expensive potential snag... my phone is currently sitting in rice :sad2::sad2::sad2: ugh! One thing is for sure, if this doesn't work, I'm surely not meant to tour Daytona Speedway during this trip :sad2::sad2::sad2:

ok, so I am completely packed! I'm the only one

Tomorrow now looks like this:

10am Pedicures for me and dd
12pm trip to my new school
1pm picking up my new phone
4pm taking dd to the pediatrician for her preop appt

Wait for my brother to arrive between 9:30 and 10 and then it's off to bed. We're leaving at 3am Friday morning.

Oh, btw dd is very excited about being my cadet reporter so that's definitely a go.

Being phoneless will make updates tomorrow difficult.

Oh NO! My screen cracked last month and pathetically it was the saddest week of my life until my mom offered up her upgrade for me (32 and still spoiled by my parents).
