Dogs. I like cats and have had many as pets (as well as taking care of some stray ones), but I'm definitely more of a dog person.

DW insists on keeping pets. We're finally out of the cat business as the most recent one created allergy issues for 3 of the 4 of us. But, we still have the dog. Don't get me wrong, she's a sweet dog and it's not that I dislike animals. I'd just much rather enjoy them in the manner grandparents enjoy grandchildren - not living with me.

I always thought I was a dog person... Then I got my kitty and I have been converted. This cat is great!! Better than any other cat I have known.

I love my dog too, but they are more work.

Yeah, why either or? I love all animals. And they're not competitors.

It's funny, I grew up with cats, many cats, but only one dog, a 200-lb Saint Bernard. I always thought of myself as a cat person, though. A cat person who liked big dogs. But I married a man who is allergic to cats and then *I* became allergic to cats. So we got a really large standard poodle. He passed on 2yrs ago and now we have this little white fluffy Bichon who has completely captured our hearts. And he's hypoallergenic!
