DH and I love the movie "Battleship". :happytv: I had no idea that it was a box office flop until I Googled to see if there was a sequel planned. :confused3 lol

Are there any box office "flops" that you really like?? popcorn::

I LOVED John Carter of Mars! Sure it could have been promoted better, but I don't think it deserved all the hate.
And Tron: Legacy wasn't all that bad. Visually, it was stunning.

We love John Carter too! Taylor Kitsch who played John Carter is also the lead in Battleship.

I think Tron: Legacy wasn't really a flop, it eventually had good worldwide numbers...

...then again, we're talking Disney who seems to be over-spending on most of the movies they produce, so they're not always making it out of the red for them...see "The Lone Ranger" for example

We really liked White House Down and I'm surprised to see it in the second-run theatres already (although if we'd waited a week we could have saved a few $$).

I don't go out to many movies...did Hope Springs flop? We watched that one on pay-per-view at home recently and loved it.

I get made fun of by my friends (we are in our very early 20s) for liking all the lifetime movies I watch them all day!

Blade runner, for obvious reasons
Van helsing was a critical flop but I love it.
13th warrior was ok. As was water world.
Sky captain and the world of tomorrow is a guilty pleasure of mine. I like dieselpunk. (Think Art Deco meets sci fi)

Im probably forgetting some. I still haven't forgiven Hollywood for Sahara though.

Sky Captain is one of my families favorite movies.

"Lost Horizon".

The 1973 version, not the 1937 version.

The one with Peter Finch, Liv Ullman, Sally Kellerman George Kennedy, Olivia Hussey and Richard York.

This thread made me look it up, it was SOOOOOOOOOO bad it never was released on video......HOWEVER I see that it was put out on DVC in late 2011. Wonder what prompted them to put out a DVD of a flop film nearly 40 years later.

That reminded me of event horizon.

Pretty good sci fi and horror cross. Not for the faint of heart though.

Waterworld.

I love that movie.
I love that the little girl in the movie grew up to be in
Napoleon Dynamite, one of my other favorites.

DH and I saw GalaxyQuest tonight. Not sure if it was a flop but I groaned when he said he got it from Netflix. But it was so funny!
