Will they cancel a bad selling cruise

They will not cancel your bad smelling cruise. They may let kids smell free or offer discounts to smelly residents, but they will not cancel. No worries.

I believe that is a rule that Disney implements. Since they follow these boards, they would know if something was posted. There is a private board for CMs. You need to be approved to join it. That information can be discussed there from what I remember, since it isn't a public forum.

Actually, they have in the past and will continue to do so if it is in their best interest. The most recent was done 7/9/13 for the 8/24/14 cruise. The thread discussing this is below, along with a thread where all reported cruises have been put in date order. I honestly was surprised at the number.

This isn't the same as canceling for low bookings. Charter cruises happen with every line and doesn't have anything to do wtih how well a cruise is selling.

I'm not sure if you were talking to me, but I did not post a CM rate. I'm not a CM. I posted an interline rate. I only stated that there were some CM's on the ship. I'm sure they also got great rates. As well as the military and FL residents.

Those cruises were changed well in advance. They were not cancelled last minute due to low bookings.

They may offer reduced pricing for military, Florida residents, CM's or *GT rates but they will not cancel a cruise due to low bookings. I think it would have to be an almost empty cruise for them to even consider cancelling for that reason which is unlikely.

They have changed around itineraries from time to time (especially the Galveston ones that were not selling well) but overall, no, they won't cancel a cruise due to low bookings.

It think it is semantics.. Those of us that have been booked on a 10 day Southern Caribbean and got the call that they decided to change it to 2 5 day Bahama cruises due they could sell those better, feels more like a cancellation as it is a complete disruption of your vacation. Just saying.

I don't think the OP has anything to worry about, as I first posted on this thread. My later response was to the comments that said DCL doesn't cancel cruises because they have.

That explains the Charter cruises, but not the ones on the list that were cancelled for the MR cruises when the Wonder was moved to Galveston, then the cruises that were reconfigured there twice. All of those cases were due to low bookings.

Exactly! If you book a 10-day and it is cancelled and replaced by two 5-days, your plans have been changed. The same thing in Galveston with the 8-days going to different combinations. Oh, and don't forget the disaster in the Med a few years ago. That was a nightmare for many.

I'm not sure how regularly disney cancel cruises but haven't seen much about it on this board. We have been on two low sellers -med in 2010 and then Hawaii last year. Both were great. Very few kids and I have kids so they were able to make good friends and plenty space on the boat. On the med one they reduced prices and we took advantage of this but on Hawaii one they reduced prices after paid in full date and we cancelled -losing our deposit and booked again. That wasn't great really so maybe if you think a cruise is going to be a poor seller you should wait till after the paid in full date and book it.
