Hello to everyone else! :wave2: Will be back tomorrow to catch up.

Finally, your weigh ins are up to date and I have added the newcomers and our returner to the list. Welcome and welcome back!!

Eliza made it to 100% of her goal last week, so she is already on a bonus round this week! Congratulations!!

For me, the weight was flat. Nothing moved. And then yesterday and today my eating was all over the place. Need to be better tomorrow. But I had so much going on these last two weeks, that I am not going to be too strict with myself. And I just need to make sure to get back into my good habits asap!

"Hey Jill, what's new?" you may be asking yourself :)
I'm on my new computer! Yay! Glad I didn't pay for 3 day shipping and went with free shipping in 4-7 days instead since it arrived in 3 :rotfl2: Now I am not having to do replies on my phone app. Thanks goodness!

I just wanted to check in real fast. I woke up at 5:55 this morning to meet my sister for our 4 mile walk at 6:30. Ugh. We both volunteered at vacation bible school this week and it starts at 9:00, so we are walking earlier. I'm not feeling it :rotfl: I came home and actually took a nap from 2-3. I'm feeling much better now except that we were going to take the kids fishing and it's raining. Now we are just doing Legos. I really should get some cleaning done around here.

DS10 just asked to watch a movie (Harry Potter), so I'm off. Have a great night!

Pamela~Thanks for the "lasagna" recipe. It sounds so yummy!

Jill

Morning all! Just taking a minute before the day gets crazy to check in with you all.

I did my monthly weigh-in for my job last night. It was kind of unplanned, but went just fine. It was an evening weight, fully dressed, with food and water in my belly. I figure if I can stay within my maintenance range after all that, I'm doing okay! So I can check one more thing off my "stressing me this week" list! :thumbsup2 I'm taking a deep breath, cutting myself a bit of slack for the weekend party eating (but not TOO MUCH slack) and exercise.

I probably won't make it on here much or even at all until at least Sunday. My parents arrive today to help with the final cleaning/prep push for the party and I am feeling SO behind schedule! So I must concentrate my time and energies on pushing through my growing to-do list so that I can relax and enjoy the party! I'll pop on if I find a spare minute though.

I hope you all are well and have a great remainder of the week and a delightful weekend.....................P

What I wouldn't give for a midafternoon :cloud9:. (heavy sigh...):goodvibes

I keep seeing Harry Potter movies on TV, but I refuse to watch them out of order! :hyper:

Don't make yourself crazy! Things that you may think are so important won't even be noticed by anyone else. ::yes:: Just have fun and enjoy the time with your family.

We're headed up to Orlando this weekend to visit friends and then spend a few days at the annual FBINAA Conference (aka drink like fish and act like you're back in college). :lmao: They are holding a 5k race on Sunday morning, but since we can't check in to our room until Sunday afternoon, we're staying with our friends instead. And that ALWAYS spells trouble! :cool1: :rotfl2: They live right near a great fitness trail though, so I will be logging in some miles Saturday morning. Keeping my fingers crossed so far, but my IT bands have been behaving themselves and the only discomfort I've been fighting with is some arthritis in my knees. After battling ITBS though, I can handle that! ::yes:: After we get back, the DH and I are going to try out Orange Theory Fitness. It's like HIIT (high intensity interval training) that includes treadmill running, body weight exercises, and rowing. All done to keep your heart rate up in the "orange" range and burn mucho calories. My BRF (best running friend) :goodvibes has been going twice a week, and has seen her times decrease (like she's not fast enough already...:faint:). Can't wait! :woohoo:

Love the quotes everyone, very inspirational!!

I always wonder, were they just genetically lucky and always look that way or did they have to work hard for their figures? And if it was the latter, at what point did they say, yes, I made it! Or do they still think they look awful and need to keep working? :confused3

I'm starting to think they always have it on their minds, maybe there are a select few who really do just never think about it and have perfect genetics, but I know my SIL who is a ripped size zero works hard at it every day. I can't even fathom setting aside the kind of time she puts into exercise (partly due to a bulging disk she's trying to regulate without surgery).

They are Dominex "Italian style vegetarian meatballs" and they are just 90 calories for 5 meatballs (slightly larger than traditional Swedish meatballs.... smaller than regular Italian). I wish I could remember if they came from Shaw's, Hannaford, or Market Basket

They sound delicious! But none of those stores sound familiar to my neck of the woods. Will have to see if my stores carry them... always looks for good beef alternatives.

Well I've earned bragging rights tonight. Just back from slimming class and I have now officially lost 4 stones in weight (for you US people that's 56lbs - us British do it different!!!).

Congratulations!! :cheer2: Wow that would be a tough number system to follow for the weight loss! I'm excited to see every pound gone, it would be tough to wait for a single stone!! Ah the American desire for instant gratification - you know I haz it!

we leave tomorrow for 3 days at the parks then our cruise!!! woohooo!!! I didn't quite make my weight goal; but i'll be back and in full swing when we return!

Have a blast!!!! I can't WAIT for our cruise!

Ah sometimes those afternoon siestas are just what the doctor ordered! I used to love doing the morning exercising, but lately it's been late at night - either a walk before the sun sets (but while it's late enough that it is progressively getting cooler) or Wii zumba, my current exercise addiction. I can't imagine doing either of those in the morning! My hat is off to you!!!

Wow that sounds exciting. We had a contest type "Biggest Loser" thing locally here about 4 years ago. I signed up for that and out of about 100+ people I came in 4th!! But my favorite part of all the different things they introduced us to was by far the Marine Fitness course. I love the hard core stuff - I just have a hard time finding it (or wanting to shell out the money for it). And I don't think the Marines actually want me at this point!!! :rotfl2:

QOTD - Inspired by Jill's morning exercise, when do YOU prefer to exercise? Do you think it's better in the morning to start the day on a healthy note? Or perhaps in the evening to keep yourself from the sofa and bag o' chips?

I'm definitely an after work worker-outerer...:goodvibes I can manage to get myself up at oh-dark-thirty once or twice a week and get on the elliptical, but that's about the extent of my morning workouts. Knowing that I don't have to rush home and get ready for work makes my evening runs much more enjoyable. :thumbsup2

I am definitely a morning exerciser -- if I don't get it done in the morning it likely will not get done. But then I am a morning person, too, so it is not surprising. And evenings are for happy hour! :rotfl:

Thanks for coaching this week, Zim! :flower3:

Well I've earned bragging rights tonight. Just back from slimming class and I have now officially lost 4 stones in weight (for you US people that's 56lbs - us British do it different!!!). Sooo pleased with myself. Came home and did a little 2K run before dinner to celebrate!!

:woohoo: Eliza! Congratulations! You're hard work is really paying off for you! :cool2:

It is tough when the scale is not moving, Magdalene. A maintain is always a winner in my book. ::yes::

Rose, have fun at WDW! :goodvibes

Pamela, forget the housework, get the food and drink together and get ready to have a great time at your DD's celebration! party:

I work out better in a morning, but never get the time, so always do the gym after work. Much prefer to run in the morning though, and the weekly 5K I do is at 9:00am, so suits me better.

I looked up Orange Theory Fitness the other day when you mentioned it. There are none near me but it sounds like a great workout. I'm sure you'll see great results & maybe have some sore muscles :)

:) Thanks! I prefer to work out early in the morning, but during the school year, I work out in the afternoons. I already get up at 6 am & cannot (I've tried) get up earlier to workout. Plus, DH doesn't want me out alone in the dark during the winter months. I do not like working out late at night, though. I feel like I cannot cool down & fall asleep for hours.

Hi Guys
Went shopping today and bought myself a dress (unheard of!!) so couldn't resist a photo opportunity!!

.

You look marvelous! Congrats on all your success!

Hello all! I hope everyone is having a great day. It's a cool day here in PA (low 70s) and it is so nice. I had a stress induced sugar breakdown at lunch today :( I am getting ready to track all my points & move forward. I did just go for a walk, so I feel better. And I'm planning on a small, healthy meal for dinner as I ate lunch late.

I'll be back tomorrow to check in. Have a good night :)

Jill

Helen!!! Looking fabulous!!! :)

Sooooooo......I have this friend of fb who made this HUGE deal last week about going g-f for health reasons. Gluten intolerance was the diagnosis. She made this big deal about 30 days of cooking new g-f meals every day etc, etc. Tons of people responded to her and gave her a bunch of well thought out replies. And I mean a lot of people. She is also on a "diet". Anyhow, yesterday she posts these pictures of this quiche and fruit pie which looked amazing and of course people asked what g-f recipe she used.....Well, she used half g-f flour and half regular. OMG! That doesn't count! I dont' really care if she is g-f or not. I don't care if anyone is or not. But I am so flipping sick of people acting like it is something that people can take or leave or treat so nonchalantly. This can be a serious medical issue that makes people really sick! I could not carry on a conversation, my hair was falling out and I had a wacky heart just to name a few things. Half wheat flour would make me so sick!

Anyhow sorry for the crank session. I had to get that out. :) Obviously hit a nerve.

Return to your regular weight loss thread. :)

QOTD Music--I love music when I work out! I just downloaded a ton of new songs. We are on a country music kick, so a bunch of Florida Georgia Line :lovestruc, love Luke Bryan, and a bunch of other stuff!

And something I was thinking about the other day. Sometimes I forget we are all in this together. And by that I mean: when I see that slim, fit woman jogging around our lake I think to myself "Oh if only it were that easy for me!" It's almost as if there is a passive aggressive tendency to isolate those who you feel have "made it". And they can come back and get your encouragement when they've found those lost pounds again... When in reality they are fighting just as hard as those who want to lose a few pounds and those who want to lose a lot. It's not an Us and Them thing. Everyone who has decided to make healthy lifestyle changes and choices are all in the same boat! Maybe it's just me, what are your thoughts?

Good luck this week on making YOUR healthy choices! And again another welcome to the new people, I hope you post often and get involved, it's a great means of keeping up the healthy outlook!!
I think there may be a few people who really are genetically lucky. But I think most people work hard to stay healthy and it is always in the back of their minds, but more as a part of their lives. I also think some people do have to work a little harder. I am definitely physically much bigger than my sisters, even without the extra weight. Good food for thought. :goodvibes

I like to keep motivational pictures on my desk so I have no choice but to look at it all week. The current one is a picture of girl in great shape that says, "You can't outrun a bad diet." So true......:thumbsup2
This is so true! And believe me I have been trying this week!:rotfl:
Thanks for all the encouragement!

hey everyone! i'm sorry to be so MIA this month...lots and lots going on. we leave tomorrow for 3 days at the parks then our cruise!!! woohooo!!! I didn't quite make my weight goal; but i'll be back and in full swing when we return!
Have fun!!!

I take a strength class where she does a kind of interval training with weights. It is brutal! But oh so good for me. :) Have fun in Orlando. :)

Morning, evening, afternoon, doubles, sometimes three in a day. When I am healthy I really like to workout! Even just walking a mile is a huge stress reliever for me, so I have been trying to move when I feel the stress creeping up.

Sorry about the stress Jill.

Pamela--hope you are getting excited about your DD's party!

Hi to everyone else. :)

***
Today is my DS's bday. He is moving out of his house today and going out with some friends. I am really looking forward to seeing him this weekend.:)

Mike and I have started cleaning out the house. We have decided to officially list our house next week. I have a little panic attack every time I think about it, but I am taking it one minute at a time. Trying to visualize the future even though I have absolutely no idea what lies ahead.:goodvibes

Helen - you look fantastic in that dress!!! What an achievement to have changed yourself so much within such a short time! :thumbsup2

Jill - sorry to hear about your stress! I hope you were able to get back on track for the rest of the day!

Rose - I hope everything works out with selling your house! What a huge step! And I can absolutely understand your anger at your friends way of treating g-f eating. It seems to have become the latest fashion, just as lactose free. It reminds me of some girls I knew in college who were very big about how they became vegetarians because of the poor animals - and then they would eat fish and chicken. As if those were not animals?

Pam - Hope your party preparations go well!!

---

Had a scare this morning - once again I had these 3 pound jumps (up, the scale never jumps down). I had not been on the scale since last Friday. But I know that I can't have put on three pounds in one week. My eating was not perfect, but it was not that bad. That would be over 10,000 calories to build up that much fat. So I am just ignoring it. We do have a heat wave going on at the moment and it is TOM time, so I am counting on a lot of those three pounds being water.

I still have trouble getting back into really good eating. Was so proud of myself that when we went for lunch I resisted the cheesy spätzle (they are delicious) and instead got a salad. And then had dinner which was on OP, but after dinner I had a huge carb hunger attack and ended up eating some bread...

Hopefully the more I try to get back into my old routine those will go away as well!

Hang in there Magdalene! Those pesky three pounds will be gone soon. :)

I ran three miles this morning and walked another one. Physically it was a piece of cake. But I wanted to stop the entire time. I had to have a pep talk with myself :cheer2: and say you aren't breathing hard, nothing hurts, suck it up and keep running. :)

Off to work and then after today I am off until Wednesday. :) My son cracks me up. I am so excited about the weekend and yesterday when I talked to him he said--when is my plane leaving again? He didn't even know which day. I need to practice a little bit of that laid back attitude.:thumbsup2

Have a healthy Thursday!

Helen, you look absolutely smashing! princess: And love that great, big happy smile! :teeth:

Jill, hope you are enjoying the cooler weather in your neck of the woods. :cool1:

Magdalene, those mystery pounds have to leave you just as fast as they showed up. pixiedust: Hang in there!

Kim, hope you are enjoying your vacation! :goodvibes

Rose, I'm sure DS will get into things once he is at WDW. ;)

Lost .6 at WW today which puts me at 25% for my goal this month. I'm going to work hard this week for another loss not only to meet my goal but to hit that 20 pound loss finally -- watch me go! ::yes::

Good luck with tomorrow's weigh in all!

Hi Guys
Went shopping today and bought myself a dress (unheard of!!) so couldn't resist a photo opportunity!!

Helen you look fantastic, and really nice dress! The before and after pictures are always so inspiring!

But I am so flipping sick of people acting like it is something that people can take or leave or treat so nonchalantly. This can be a serious medical issue that makes people really sick!

HA! They made fun of that in the recent movie This is the End. NOT recommended if you're easily offended, but I loved it - and I love that whole sophomoric bunch of actors. Anyways, it was a conversation where one character was explaining to his friend how he couldn't eat at some burger haven that was a favorite of theirs because he was now Gluten Free. His friend asked him to explain what exactly it was and he replies 'It's like another word for calories or something' Very funny dig on that whole thing. You might have appreciated the sarcasm when they ended up in the burger joint anyway.

Morning, evening, afternoon, doubles, sometimes three in a day. When I am healthy I really like to workout! Even just walking a mile is a huge stress reliever for me, so I have been trying to move when I feel the stress creeping up.

That is so true and I sometimes forget you can squeeze it in all day long! I am definitely more active nowadays finding lots more excuses to get up from my desk all day.

Had a scare this morning - once again I had these 3 pound jumps (up, the scale never jumps down). I had not been on the scale since last Friday. But I know that I can't have put on three pounds in one week.

That happens to me too - and then it goes back to normal the next day! Try again tomorrow!!

Just got back from a walk around the lake - even ran one song! Feeling great and might squeeze in a little Zumba later tonight just to push the envelope before the dread WEIGH IN DAY.

It's been fun being coach for the week, hope I did okay for a noob.

QOTD - Who will be gracing us with their presence and positive energy next month for the August Challenge!?!?!

Count me in!!

Almost Friday! Just have a minute, but I wanted to post here to get caught up with the week. Thanks for the well wishes! I'm just about recovered from the wild illness. I found out that I'm probably gluten intolerant instead of just wheat, which I'm almost happy about because being ill without knowing why is stressful. Thankfully, I do cook/bake wheat-free primarily already, so I do know how silly it would be to mix AP and GF flours... ;) I've been eating a paleo diet the past few months, but have been eating a bit of regular cake recently (my husband and I have a cake decorating business) as I've been working on a few new flavors. Guess it'll be up to him to be the official tester now... I'm sure I'll have to twist his arm to do it too... :goodvibes

Good morning all! Just a quick hello from "crazy cleaning land":lmao:

Did my weigh-in for the week yesterday and it was good! I am delighted to be back at the lower end of my WW maintenance range. All of this crazy running around cleaning, shopping, weeding, painting has definitely helped!

Misstating the time to chat more, but I'll be back next week when life slows down just a bit!

Hope you all are well and have a great weekend! ........P
