Hi! My mom and I are planning a trip for June next year as a graduation present(for me). I was wondering what would be a good resort in the deluxe/moderate price...We have previously stayed at CBR and WL. There seems to be so many choices and it is overwhelming!

If a monorail resort is doable, my choice would be the Poly. The atmosphere is beautiful, the volcano pool is great as it backs up to the beach with a distant view of the castle while swimming, the beach is great for watching the fireworks, and Captain Cooks is great for quick CS meals. We have stayed at all but 3 deluxe resorts and the Poly is our favorite :goodvibes.

If you are looking for a deluxe resort more in line with the cost of WL, we really enjoyed AKL. AKL is out away from everything, but we liked that as we found the resort to be quiet and the transportation to be fine. The buses only go to AKL and Kidani, so there's no sharing with any other resort(s). The resort is beautiful with a lot of areas to view the animals if you don't have a savanna room, Boma is awesome, and the gift shop is great to explore as it has a lot of unique things :).

The only mod we've stayed at is CBR and we loved everything about it. With that said, even though I can't comment on any other mods from experience, POR looks like a beautiful resort ;).

I do agree that it's hard choosing a resort as there are so many great options. Good luck deciding, although I'm sure you'll have a great trip no matter which resort you choose. Congrats on your graduation :wizard:.

WL is hands down our favorite deluxe. We stayed at AKL on our trip two years ago, and I was not at all happy with the distance to/from the parks. The hotel is amazing, but it seemed like every time me wanted to go anywhere by AK, we were on the bus for-ev-er! We also did Beach Club once when we checked in at POR and it was oversold. The room was lovely, but we felt the place overall was quite stuffy. We also found that there always seemed to be noise in the hallways, and we were tucked away in a corner room. Odd.

If you're looking for a mod, POFQ has been our favorite for years. It's quaint, quiet, well-themed, and easy to get to/from the parks. The boat to DTD is a nice added bonus too!

Our fav moderate is POR, in the mansion section. Deluxe us a little more difficult, as there is a bigger price jump between the various Deluxe resorts. And don't have an idea of your price range. But Beach Club or Yacft Club would be very nice, can't beat the pool complex, SAB, or being able to walk to Epcot or Studios or boat to Studios.

Loved CBR ourselves, just back, but having been there then you are maybe looking for something different.

Stayed at Kidani Village for a couple of nights, the place was excellent, although we never did it justice really as we were out and about a bit.

My favourites at the moment are:

Value: AoA (great if you want a suite/lots of theming)

Moderate: POFQ (great size) or POR (Royal Room, if you like over the top theming)

Luxury Value: WL (but since you have stayed there I'd try AKL, also great)

Luxury EXpensive: YC/BC for Epcot area, GF for MK area

Almost impossible for me to choose an overall favourite. Each trip seems to call for a different resort, depending upon who I am going with and our plans for that particular trip. However, my Mom and daughter trip was at the GF. We did all the posh girly things like have tea, go to the spa, watch fireworks from our room, etc. We really enjoyed our trip!

Enjoy your graduation holiday!

Thanks for all the input. POR seems like a cool place to stay. I guess I should consider that...but I know I much rather stay at BC or CR:)

We've stayed at POR and POFQ as well as AKL and loved them all! My favorite thing about AKL was seeing the animals as we sat on our balcony each morning! I have pics of AKL in my trip report from that trip (see link in my siggy).

We love both POR (best QS) and POFQ (great atmosphere - and small size) - and Poly for a deluxe - have stayed at BC twice on concierge level - the breakfast and QS options at BC/YC are (at best) limited - but you can't beat the walk to Epcot or HS.

We love POR for moderate, and have stayed several times at BC and loved that for deluxe. As mentioned, the proximity to DHS and Epcot from BC is great, but also why they charge so much for the privilege. But the pool is great, looking out over the lake/Boardwalk area. Cape May is fun for breakfast too if you like character dining. Rooms need some care though. Overall, great area if you want to be in an Epcot resort.

DD Graduation trip she chose CSR. She loves the more adult feel to resort and rooms, and she would rather take the money saved and use for lots of good eats and longer stay.

Last trip she chose the POR Royal Rooms. They are really well done and we felt like Princesses. LOVED the boat to DTD for shopping and more eats. Again money saved by staying here over the deluxe allowed us to do more.

If you go deluxe I would def consider how much time at each park and other activities to see which would would suit your needs better. If you think you want to be in EPCOT for eats etc, I would def choose an EPCOT resort. If you think you want to hang mostly in MK, then look at those resorts. If you plan on going all over the place and staying busy, I honestly would be looking at a moderate.
