Resort suggestion

I am back with yet another question. Thanks for everyone's help and patience!

We are hoping to stay at the BWI for 7 nights in October. 6 of those nights show availability. Our last night shows to be completely booked. What resort would you move to?

I can make a case to move to a cheaper resort since it is our last night but I am not sure I want to end the trip with a "downgrade". I was looking at BC or YC but their availability also seems limited.

I have AAA reservation that would cover our last night at the BWI but if we have to potentially move rooms and pay a higher rate I am not sure that is worth it either.

Any suggestions? DH is tired of listening to me and is no help.

If you don't need to spend time in the room, then why not move to the airport after you finish with your day in the world.

We thought about that but we would prefer to be able to be in the room in the middle of the day. Or as soon as we are able. We fly out 9am Saturday morning. I looked at flying out Friday night but there aren't any flights we will consider.

Would Coronado feel like too big of a change from the Boardwalk?

If you can get either the BC or YC; Go For It. We just got back from the BC 5 weeks ago & loved as usual. :thumbsup2

Are you relying on DME for transportation back to the airport?

If not, have you considered moving to the Swan/Dolphin for the last night? May save you money without having to "downgrade".

We are renting a car. I checked the Swan and Dolphin but it was kind of expensive by the time you added in the resort fee and parking fee. It was more than the discounted BC or YC rate. Or the rate I am guessing at any way.

Availability at BC and YC seems to keep jumping in and out. I will have to keep my fingers crossed for when discounts are released. I just want to have my second and third choice ready.

Emily - I did not care for Coranado. Going in middle of day might be impossible if you had a gap between check out and check in. Personally, I would pick different place for entire time. Moving for one night is t worth the logistics of doing so. You'll be worrying about packing and movi g all Thursday night and Friday. Even though the move seems sime, it will be on your mind the whole time.

We got married at BWI so we really want to stay there. I am praying that the Disney website is wrong. :rotfl2:

I am wondering if we should move to have 2 nights at another resort so we would have a little more time to be settled.

Very unusual for the Swan/Dolphin to cost as much as other Epcot resorts...even if they are discounted. Did you check under "Special Offers" on the Swan/Dolphin website? AAA, teachers, nurses and other discounts are usually available.

Well great news, more than likely the Disney website is wrong, we wanted to add a night on to our stay to BC, website told us no availability for that night, Well I called Disney directly and guess what it was available! :cool1:

The AAA rate at the Dolphin is $274 plus tax once you add in all the resort fees. We don't qualify for any of the other discounts. A 30% RO discount at YC is $294. A 35% AP discount would bring the YC down to $274. Of course this doesn't help if there is no availability.

You are giving me hope!

I am hoping the rumors of the RO discount coming out on Monday are correct. I will be on the phone at 7am!

I thought the new discounts would not be announced until after August 1st. :confused3 Current discount promo ends July 31 (next Wed.)

The rumor is that Disney Visa discounts might be released on 7/29 before the 8/1 GP discounts. We will see.....
