Is there anywhere to buy balloons on the BW? DD has just passed her BSc (Hons) in Psychology, she's currently on the International College Programme and we're coming over to see her tomorrow, I've got her a congratulations card but would like to get her a balloon too, we're taking her shopping next week so then she can pick out a present but it would be nice to have something to give her :).

I was going to add the BW entertainment link MOM POPPINS posted: http://www.wdwent.com, but I just noticed that the BW page was last updated 10 years ago, but some of the info. still looks right.

Hope everyone is keeping cool today:drinking1

What a sweet gesture and congratulations to DD! I don't recall seeing balloons for sale on the BW. I suppose you could order them through Disney Florist:confused3

Staying at the Boardwalk for the first time in 3 weeks. Can someone tell me if at the Luna pool, they have life vests available for the little kids?

TIA

We'll be staying at BWV 9/28 - 10/1 in a studio. First time at BW, first time at a Deluxe. Adults only trip to enjoy Food and Wine fest.

I don't know, but someone else will. I thought that only the resorts with marinas had them:confused3

Sounds like fun! I'll add you to the BW Bulletin.

Good thinking, thanks :)
You're welcome and of course, if you're at MK, you could purchase balloons there which would be cheaper than DF, but less convenient.

The only balloons I recall on the boardwalk are the non helium kind that one of the boardwalk performers blows up and twists into animals, hats, etc.

Hi Kook:wave2:

Can you add me to the guest list for BWI Oct 26-Nov 2.

I am going to miss the Old Faithful Club this year, but really like BWI for the location.

They have them at the Luna pool and at the Community Hall at the DVC pool. I can't recall exactly where they are located at Luna, but I remember seeing them. I'll be there in 2 weeks (well, 2 weeks and 1 day) and will try to remember to take a photo.

 I totally understand and would be happy to add you to the BW Bulletin. OFC will be there for a future visit.

ARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH

Just need to vent. So we're less than 3 weeks out to this fabulous surprise birthday trip in a deluxe CL room at BW. DH comes home from a work trip last night & says he doesn't think he'll be able to join us at all. I knew he couldn't stay the whole week, but was hoping for at least 3-4 nights.

Now my problem is that I just can't justify the cost of the room ($500/nt with AP discount) just for the boys & myself. I got the deluxe room because space is important to us when DH is along. Sooooo.....on to Plan B...a standard CL room or even waterview room at BWI....nope, nada, the only thing available right now is the Garden Suite which is more than what I have now. There is a standard view studio available for a few of our nights, I could just switch to that to save some $$, but its not a huge savings. Argh. Or, I stay deluxe CL room at BWI for 3 nts for the great birthday surprise, then switch over to CBR or CSR for the last 3 nts ($157/nt vs. $500/nt really speaks to me!!)

My head is spinning! The boys & I leave for our cabin on Monday morning & have no access to internet, cell phones, TV, nothing. So I can't even check obsessively to see if BWI rooms open up LOL!! When we return we'll only be 10 days away from the Disney trip. I know I will completely ignore the hoards of laundry & housework to sit on the computer & plot!

Keep what you have and stop fretting. DH was only going to be in the room for a few nights anyway, right? So why cancel over him not being there a few nights? The Deluxe room will still allow the boys to sleep in separate beds. The Deluxe room just adds a sleeper and small sitting area with a TV. The boys will make full use of that area. Unless you and DH were sleeping in separate beds and you don't need the extra queen anymore, then I would keep what you have and enjoy the sitting area and the boys not arguing over sleeping together.

Please add me to the boardwalk bulletin! We will be staying at BWV for the 1st time from 9/21-9/26. Can September get here faster please!?!?!

Thank you for your words of wisdom!! I was in panic mode when I typed that. I am letting it stand as is, can't do a thing until we get home from camping, and even then, I may just keep the BW room. Maybe by then, just maybe, DH will be able to swing a night or two & we can get that set up.

Looking to change our reservation to the BW club level. We can book the garden suite club level but I am concerned because of the bed situation. I get that DH and I would have a king-size bed and that is great. I am concerned that DD and DS would have a pull out (queen sized sleeper sofa). Our kids are 13 and 17 years old...and are tall kiddos. They do not mind sharing a queen size bed (and have just finished 18 days of vacationing where they had to sleep together), but does anyone know if it is comfortable? So many sleeper sofas are bad and you can feel all the bars in the bed.

For the money I am going to spend on this, does anyone know if this pull-out is comfortable?

Thanks in advance!
Jen

[QUOTE=Sounds like fun! I'll add you to the BW Bulletin.

Thank you, Kooks, if you will please add me too! Dec 7-14. Thrilled beyond belief and bank account, but after all these years, I will be finally here, when from afar, I watched constuction. :santa:

I'd be happy to! Hurry up September! (That should make next week come faster for me;))

Forgot to also mention that with the Deluxe room, you're guaranteed a BWV;)

This post has made my decision!!! We are SOOO staying here on our next trip!!!
:welcome: Let us know when you're booked:)

Hi, Jen! I don't have a comment about the comfort of the GS sleeper, but you're correct that all the GS's are configured with one king and one queen sleeper so your DD and DS would have to sleep together or one would have to sleep on the floor.

If you booked a CL Deluxe room though, then you would have two queens and a queen sleeper and you'd be in the same building as the lounge and have a guaranteed BWV. Do you have to have the half bath?

No problem! Sounds like you've been waiting a long time to stay at BWI. You're going to love all the festive decorations - happy planning!

Thanks so much for this wonderful thread, and all that have shared their beautiful photos! My waitlist just came through, and I'll be staying at the Boardwalk Villas for my Disney Princess Half Marathon next February!
