Okay, I am FINALLY ready to book and I've chose AOA for my family of 5, but I cannot decide between Cars and Nemo! My kids love them both! I think they like the Nemo movie best, but the Cars section look so awesome! Also, I think the Cars section might be more welcomed by my dh and my oldest ds! One thing though.. I read that the Cars section is further away from everything..is it that bad? It is so hard to decide when you have so many different ages in the family! Can't wait to book!!!:woohoo:

We are booked for a Cars suite for my family of 4!!! I had a hard time choosing as well. In the end after looking at pics my DH chose Cars. I think I read somewhere that the Mater building is close to everything so I put that as our request. Would've loved to save the $1200 and stay in a LM but I have 2 boys and that was a no go! Plus DH said that LM was way too far from everything since we will be there a week.

We walked around AoA last August for a look see, and I loved the outside theming of Lion King section. Also liked the room pics on Allears. Nemo was cute too. Outside Cars theming was very cute, but didn't like the room pics.

We stayed in the cars section. It is not far at all. We swam in the nemo pool but found we liked the cars pool better. It was less crowded and smaller so I could watch the kids better. We had a pool view room and it was awesome. I loved the little cars and really felt like we were in the movie. It was awesome. I don't think you could go wrong either way.

Do you mind my asking which building you stayed in?

Didn't see inside of suites we stayed In Lm section. But as far as outside theming CARS all the way. I have two little girls and we are staying in cars section next jan. that's how much my 3 yr old daughter loved it!

We stayed at AoA a few weeks ago and in my opinion, none of the suites are a very long walk to the main building. We were originally booked in a Nemo suite but when room discounts came out, there were none available for the Nemo rooms so I switched us to Cars. The more I looked at the maps, the more worried I was about the distance. So I went to a mapping site and mapped it out to see the differences. Here are my measurements of the closest and furthest distances for each section to the center of the main building in miles:

Nemo - .04 -- .11
Cars - .06 -- .21
Lion King - .08 -- .16

I think even the furthest locations have about a 5 minute walk to the main building.

I did end up switching to Lion King because my family decided they liked those rooms better than the Cars rooms and we had an awesome location. We were in building 10 in the wing closest to the main building. Our room was 2 rooms away from the exit. It was a 2 minute walk from our room to Landscape of Flavors (.05 miles...less than 100 yards) and .15 miles to the center of the bus stops if going through LoF or by walking along the parking lot on the sidewalk. That's one thing to keep in mind -- the Lion King rooms are closer to the food and bus stop end of the main building than Cars -- though not significantly since the entire area of suites is very compact.

I do think Cars has the best exterior theming -- especially at night. It's simply gorgeous.

Omg...my youngest is watching Lion King tonight so I showed him those rooms as well and he really likes them too!!!

I don't think you could go wrong with either room. I really liked the pictures of the Cars area (wasn't overly crazy about the room decor, but didn't *dislike* it) and that's where *I* wanted to stay, but my kids (ages 24, 14, 13, & 8) really wanted Lion King. After staying in a Lion King suite, I will probably request that section again the next time we stay there (loved the room decor and especially our location), but I'm guessing that we would have been just as happy in Cars or Nemo (our first choice but when discounts came out there was none available for the Nemo rooms so we switched to Cars...and then Lion King).

Well, even though it wasn't even in my original choices...it looks like the winner is...Lion King!!! I hadn't thought about it because it was an older movie that my younger kids never watched much. Then my youngest saw pics and loved it because he loves anything to do with animals(I wasn't even thinking about that, duh)! My dd was also between Lion King and Nemo. She really disliked the Cars rooms.
Also, we are celebrating my oldest ds's high school graduation, and he said if he had to pick he would also go with Lion King. He was telling my younger two how that was his generation of Disney movies..lol. His gf said yeah, that's when they made all of the good Disney movies! lol
Now I just need to find out what to request to be closest to Animation Hall!
Thanks guys

We stayed in building 6 court yard view and loved it. I didn't think it was a long walk . We took one night and walked the entire resort the kids pool hopped from one pool to the other . We also cut down the hall from the end door facing Nemo a Cm gave us that tip. We just loved strolling through the resorts landscaping .

We were in building 2 (I think- the farthest away) on the forth floor facing the pool, almost in the middle of the building. I can't remember the room number. My family loved our view each night. You could get a small view of fireworks here and there. Just loved the walk to the buses. My kids still say when they look our their window, now we are home, they miss the view.

We are doing one night at cars before our 4 night Disney dream cruise and then comin back to the world and staying in the nemo for three nights!

Just request that: "close to Animation Hall & bus stops". There are numerous rooms/locations that will fit that need. We requested that and we were in Bldg. 10, the wing closest to Animation Hall, 2 doors away from the exit/stairs on our floor. We could be in Landscape of Flavors in under 2 minutes. And the bus stops were about a 3 minute walk whether we walked through Animation Hall or took the sidewalk along the parking lot. The rooms at the end of Building 6 would have similar walking times. But if you just request a specific building, you could end up at the far end of the building and add another minute or so to your walk. Really, none of the suites is a far walk from the main building.

Glad you came to a decision, OP! You can always walk around the exterior of the other themed buildings so you can still experience them. Have a magical trip!
