2013 Free Dining Watch

1) as long as you have the card in hand or the number for verifying when adding the discount you'd be able to do it. There is not time limit on having it. If you bank with Chase they have a Disney debit card that offers the same early access as the credit card and there is not fee to switch to one.

2) if you call bright and early at 7a on Aug 1 I imagine you'll at least get one of those three resorts.

The Disney debit card gets you early access?? I have that :)

Omg you gust made my day!!!! We have never gone during a free dining time so this is all new to me!!!!

If you didn't put your initial deposit down on the Disney debit you'll have to make a new deposit using it. If you did, they'll just verify the card number. Other than not getting the rewards points the perks are exactly the same!

Posted over on the Resort/Discount page:

These sources are quite good, and the same ones I got the September Free Dining, as well as the August-September Room Only Discounts that nobody else on the Dis even mentioned (and brought lots of relief to many late-August travelers as well).

What about if you arrive on Sept 28? Would you still qualify for FD?

how will this work with tickets?

You would do a room only with the first stay (no tickets or dining) but have tickets/dining with your second FD package (buy whatever length of tickets you need for both parts). Then you can pickup your tickets up to 3 days early. You cannot start the dining early though. The Ticket Sticky on the Theme Parks board gives more details regarding the ticket pick p.

This is not correct. Although you will be told that if you call on the phone and ask. Just like they've been saying for the past few years, but it is not correct. You can.

Where did you hear this??? :confused3 The ticket sticky is updated by CF with the most up to date info and it states that it is still a valid procedure.

On a recent podcast. Can't remember what date? It was suggested that it may have something to do with Mymagic+. May or may not be true. I have NOT tried it personally. I asked a CM once and was told no, but that is my only experience.

Well I do agree that it could possibly change when they roll put the new system, because who really knows? But as of now, you still can.

I'd agree with this. CF being a ticket CM would probably have some first hand experience when the procedure changes and will update accordingly I'm sure.

I'm considering moving my trip that I booked for November 24-30th at POR in light of the possible free dining.....I'm thinking December 15th-21st at POR. This may have already been asked but I haven't read up on the thread yet, if I do change the dates (after Aug. 1st announcement) then can I call and change my dates? I've already paid $2500 would this transfer to the new date? Just in case I booked my dining reservations for December also.

As long as you are currently booked with a package, you can move/change pretty much anything and it will only be a modification to your existing package. The money you have paid would remain the same since it is just a modification. Good luck! :goodvibes
