Our little thread of BIG Resort changes*OLD THREAD link on last pg. to new thread!

So I was a little bored today .......

Then I started playing around on the WDW website ......

Decided I wanted stay at a moderate:

POFQ - not the pool for me
POR - stayed there is Jan .... love it but want something different
CBR - I don't think so .... no particular reason
CSR - YES!!! That's the one for me! :thumbsup2

Janet resort addition alert! :rotfl2:

Now I'm booked at:

CSR 9/2 - 9/5
AKV 9/5 - 9/12
OKW 9/12 - 9/19

Decided that for the hot Sept weather the Dig Site pool was the place for me! :beach:
Looking forward to hearing what you think of CSR. Only mod we haven't stayed at.

Sjs314: Thanks for the Portofino review. If I had a 40 percent off pin I'd book pronto. :stir:

SueM: I'd be a tad miffed at the server for flubbing the Castle Cake.

Alysa: Nice to meet ya. I've been MIA for a bit. Cute costume, you are talented. :goodvibes

GGrandma: I dig the CSR Dig Site and pool. Nice addition. :thumbsup2

Miss: I appreciate the input on the HR Hotel. Great point and it probably is much younger and rowdier crowd there... Sometimes I forget my "real" age. :faint:

Chimo2u: Good deal that you got the dirt bike sold. ::yes:: Your plan for a stay-cation with DH sounds great and romantic and relaxing and...
Glad it's not just me! But I was really upset when he did that. I had thought they had forgotten about the cake I ordered, and went up to the podium to ask. :(
Good morning all!! I have been trying to stay caught up reading, but no time to post replies.

2 weeks from tomorrow!!! :-) kids still don't know! DS still has some "homework" to do before he learns of his big surprise! :-) thinking of giving him his autograph book that I made on Shutterfly and see if he "gets it".

Have a great day!! :-)
Woohoo

Hi peeps! Took a drive to Watertown to get a few things and thought I would pop in since the Internet signal is stronger here :)

Wookie  such a difficult weekend for you all. Been keeping you in my thoughts

Sheila, is Bob stressed? That and depression can make one forgetful ...

Kor, so close for you!! And the poly! :woohoo:

Magic, kind of liking the HRH. .. And hey you are NOT old!! :)

Alysa, been meaning to comment on your beautiful DD and her amazing outfit!! It's fantastic!

Marie, congrats on selling the bike!

GG, liking your addition... Know you were itching to change something :) the pool at CSR rocks!

Heather, did I miss it? No picture of the day treat? :)

Pas, so very very close ... Your latest change is great... In only a few days you will be hitting the road !! :yay:

Sue, hoping that knee is feeling a lot better ...but hey floating around SAB is a nice option too!

Can't quote well on the phone and don't mean to leave out anyone ... Hi to Ginny, Lacey, Miss, Jen, Christine, dani, Kook, you are so close too...

We r heading back to PA today ...Sam is flying to Wisconsin on wed ... first time flying alone ... She seems fine I'm just a basket case ... But will not show it in front of her :) she going out to visit her bff.

Will try to catch up better later ... Enjoy the day!

Thanks for asking. Today wasn't a good knee day. Been a busy week, so maybe over did it. Just so many things going on last week! Funeral, BFFs birthday, wedding reception, trip into Seattle for a little cross border shopping, lol.

Wookiebeen thinking about you. Haven't fully caught up, but guess its true about weddings & funerals bringing family together.

Ps..... Yippee! :) yes I did sell the dirtbike, she nickel and dimed me to a great deal for her (I was asking $2500) and I ended up letting her have it for $2000. I didn't want to lose the sale, and I was tired of trying to sell it. As long as I had the $1000 for each kid I promised them/ in Josh's case, owed him -- I was good!
I compromised (no Disney money for me :( / any extra over 2k was going to be my profit ;) ) but at least it's sold and I don't have to accommodate lookers or emailers trying to get me to give it away for free! Lol

DS21(Josh) is going away to Ontario with his Gf's family for 3 weeks , DS17 (Andrew) is going to our cities local fair/ Klondike days next Sat, so DH told me to book a hotel with a jacuzzi tub in the room so the two of us can get away just for a night "staycation" :)
It's been a long time since we've just had time for us, so even though it cost $149 (not bad for a jacuzzi room ) it was worth the splurge!
May make it a date weekend -- dinner out, and movie then hotel.
:)
Sounds great:thumbsup2
Ah, that sounds lovely! :goodvibes I almost booked it for our next trip but went with something new (BOG) instead -- along with something close(r) to the hotel for our anniversary (Bluezoo).

We ate there for lunch. I had the ahi tuna and dd had the croque Monsieur both very good. We ate by the windows that snow. Also thought the Rose room was very cool.

They love it! Stephen is a brown belt and Jesse is an orange belt. It has been really good for both of them in terms of discipline and respect. It's very structured and organized which I love. She should give it a try....but make sure you research the facilities. There are some pretty shady ones floating around out there.

No kidding?! :thumbsup2 Which type of taekwondo does he practice? We're ATA. I'm hoping that Stephen sticks with it and earns his blackbelt.
My youngest got her brown belt in shotokan then decided to quit :( ugh. But once she decides she's done, the arguments just wasn't worth it!! Hope Stephan sticks with it.

Woodie - I am so so sorry for the devasting loss of your husband's grandfather. I have been there - my grandfather did the same thing. Watching my dad grieve was gut wrenching!

I am all caught up but I will never get all the multiquotes right. Let me give it a whirl -

Marie - sorry you are frustrated with Ds. I completely support your choice on making him work. Don't let him make you feel guilty. Crossing my fingers that all goes well when he returns from vacation.

Miss E - both of my dds dance competitively. My oldest has been dancing for 11 years and just made the high school dance team - woot! Woot! And my youngest has been dancing for 6 years. They take ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop and tumbling. Did your dance school give you any direction on shoes? For our new students, the shoes have to be purchased at the studio. They fit the kids and order them. They are fairly inexpensive. As they get older, they start wearing better shoes. We usually get fitted at a local store for our first pair of a specific style and after I know the base size, I order from discount dance.com (no space) to replace them. All brands and styles run different so it can be a challenge to get the right size. Our older kids and competitive dancers like the canvas ballet shoes best because they show off the foot and are more flexible. But they tear up quickly. Our studio usually starts girls in the leather ones. Make sure to get "split sole" so she can move her foot. So the bottom of the shoe should have a sole under the toe part of the foot and a separate sole under the heel as opposed to one piece. HTH. Oh and when you laugh and point at the crazy parents that seem to be at the studio for hours and are spending their entire pay checks on costumes and you say, I would never do that......yeah we'll, I was there once too. I thoughts those moms were nuts. And here 7 years later.....(and yes, I am nuts)!

Jenny - hope you don't cancel your cruise! Hugs my friend!

Kristen - no more changes? Poly is sticking? That is the next resort on my bucket list (or CR). I have a feeling we will prefer EPCOT area though.

Pas - have you started packing? What did I miss about HRH and dh not going to the parks? Is it because they prefer to hang out and relax? I have been helping my SIL look at and price offsite resorts. Have you done one before? Like you, she has a family too big for one room. Offsite seems much more economical when you need 2 rooms. Plus, then her and BIL can sleep in the same room! We have been looking at WBC, Caribe (sp?) and one other that I can't remember. She home schools so she will go in the offseason which also helps. She wants us to come. I am thinking about maybe taking just my youngest.....

Whose dd scored the great bargains at the Disney outlet? I loved them! Youngest dd and I love anything with the "nerds" on them and they are getting hard to find!
One time we stayed a night Pre wdw pig at the DTD Doubletree which are all suites. Got discount from Mousesavers site that included breakfast. Our 1 bdrm suite was quite spacious, and still sort of in wdw. Had very good transportion, running every 30 min.
I'd be a bit upset with the server too! :-/ We're doing CRT and Le Cellier for our 2 credit dinners. Hopefully they don't disappoint this time around. :-)

New ones this trip for us - BOG (dinner), Yak & Yeti, Coral Reef, The Wave (breakfast), and 1900 Park Fare (dinner). Was going to do Raglan Road, but decided against going to DtD this trip unless we hit it on the way out or the kids specifically ask to go. But since we're at the Poly now, I wanted to make sure we enjoy the resort and have plenty of downtime, as well as make use of the easy transportation. :-)

Some of our Favs! We sat in front of aquarium at Coral Reef where the turtle likes to hang out! Love the Miso Salmon at Y&Y, step sisters at 1900 are hilarious!! Theming at BOG is cool. I think if I go this trip (lunch) ill sit in the Rose room.

sjs was it you asking about HRH? I thought the halls were very loud. Horrible acoustics. Could hear everyone's conversation outside in the halls coming home from City Walk.

Good Morning All! :wave2:

Just wanted to pop in and wish everyone a very happy Monday :goodvibes No time to multi-quote and catch up, yet. The boys have doctor appointments first thing, then I have to run home and make sure the painters are finishing up, then take Faith to the dentist... AGAIN. And if time permits - boys to taekwondo :faint: and hopefully when we return, my kitchen will be complete and working! Gotta love these crazy days :thumbsup2

Hi all!!! I'm here checking in too!!! :grouphug: I've made some ch-ch-changes to my trip THIS WEEK!!! I did post on my PTR, but not here :flower3: When I come back, I'll finally have a WDW ticker  Disney will have to wait...again. I will take Bree and Kate to see Cinderella, but we will not be staying onsite...We check in Friday to Portofino..I dropped CL to give up more nights, and more beach time :beach: Miss you all!!!!!:flower3:

magicWill we be at PBH together by chance....:goodvibes

Good morning RC family :goodvibes Got home yesterday afternoon and now back to reality. Mounds of laundry to do and finish unpacking, but it is slow going since Friday my foot started hurting and I am still in a lot of pain when I walk on it, if it doesn't start getting better in a couple of days I will go have it x-rayed to make sure I don't have a stress fracture or something :worried:

I will try to start reading to see what I have missed the past couple of weeks, but wanted to stop in and give a big :wave2: and :grouphug: to everyone!!!!

Next up, Disney planning, ADR day is in a few weeks, so I need to get my act together! Oh and speaking of that, DH and I talked about the Feb trip and he still isn't sold on spending the $ on BLT, or CR for that matter, he likes the idea of staying off prop and saving the $, but you know I will not let that happen :p

HUGS,
Melissa

sjs314: Thinking of you. :littleangel:

pas130: Ooooh what days are you at Univ? :p I am PBH still but HRH is looming large. I don't like the idea of 1st floor CL near the lobby at PBH... do you have any input either way about it? I cancelled Poly yesterday... finally.

SueM: And I forgot the mention that the birthday cake wasn't cheap either...:crazy2: Glad you are hanging in with the knee. :goodvibes

JanetB: Hoping you had a relaxing time at the upstate cottage. :flower3:

babyberger: Hope you had fun-fun-fun on our coast. Since you fam is here, I am sure we'll get a chance to meet up one of these days soon. Something tells me the "offsite" vs "onsite" banter between you and DH is going to produce verrrrry funny quotes for our RCer benefit. Betcha I know the outcome already, too. princess:

hstrickland: Busy days for you. :drive: Hope your kitchen turns out exactly how you imagined.

Ah PBR :cloud9:

I never did call about PBR yesterday I think your right maybe 2014?

JB extended their fares yesterday till April 30 I checked first week in March and first week in April, I have enough in credits for 1 tix and enough points for another :confused3 Decided to hold off, still have to pay the Poly off :rotfl2:

I booked SOA yesterday and thinking today I should have waited . I am so indecisive this trip, I am thinking now I should maybe do the Dessert Party that evening or stick with my original plan of Epcot EMH except the one time I did EMH at Epcot it was terrible busy.

Hellooooooooooooo ladies! Happy(hopefully) Monday to all. :flower3:

We just got in from the zoo, it was a fun time! The DD's are pooped, we kept telling them to put on their Disney feet!

We went to the zoo yesterday! But had to come home earlier than expected. Someone didn't have her Disney feet on ... or her Disney attitude. Ah well, good thing the zoo is close and we've got season tickets. :sad2: (Don't know why she does this every. single. Sunday. We had a lot of fun stuff we were going to do yesterday. Did nothing other than that shortened zoo visit. :confused3 )

And actually, the painting is coming along very well.

Think they'll finish up their masterpiece today? :goodvibes

Miss Apple is who I have rented from 2x now. Last trip we were staying at BWI and you can rent a scooter right on the Boardwalk just for a day or whatever and he still refused. Refused to rent one at the parks too!

Did I mention that I left him leaning against a railing in MK during MVMCP last year. I was so awful but so tried of his having to stop and rest like every 10 minutes

:lmao: We could be "awful" together. I'd have done the EXACT same thing! :rotfl2: Apple are the bees' knees; I'm so glad they were recommended or I wouldn't have known who to call. (Love that they also include delivery -- makes it very convenient.) Could you use the "suck it up, buttercup" line and just have the scooter waiting for him?

I have to agree with you, when we went back for a meal last August, it wasn't as good. I get the lobster & filet too :goodvibes.
It was my friends birthday too, so to surprise her I ordered a Castle birthday cake. But what does our server do? He brings out the free Narcossees desert first, then after she eats that brings out the Castle cake like she's going to eat 2 desserts! So she had the castle packed to go.
Don't know if it's just me, but I was upset with that server.

Oooooh NO! :sad2: How unfortunate is that?! Ugh.

Ps..... Yippee! yes I did sell the dirtbike

Yay for selling the dirtbike. Hope you get your weekend away. :)

Miss Thank you for the nice comments about the dress. It took the weekend to do. Two trips to the fabric store which is an hour away. And one visit to wal-mart for navy thread.
Sorry to hear about your grumpy dad. Parents can make you crazy. It's theri job.

A lot of legwork for that costume... but the results were well worth it! :worship:

So I was a little bored today .......

Then I started playing around on the WDW website ......

And this is how all RC-trouble starts. :rotfl2: Have you stayed at CSR before? That pool DOES look awfully cool...

Queen of Splits, that's gonna be a GREAT stay.

I think everyone knows Portofino Bay Resort at US is on my radar, Touring Plans Blog posted a great review

thinking ..............wondering if that 40% off pin code I rec'd is still good

Very... VERY tempting! Hahaha. Universal is on my "list" for soon(er) hopefully.

Miss: I appreciate the input on the HR Hotel. Great point and it probably is much younger and rowdier crowd there... Sometimes I forget my "real" age.

This was Vegas though! (I'd hope the Universal version didn't have the same cymbal wall decor in the hallways. :scared: ) All 3 of those Universal hotels look so fun.

We r heading back to PA today ...Sam is flying to Wisconsin on wed ... first time flying alone ... She seems fine I'm just a basket case ... But will not show it in front of her she going out to visit her bff.

Heya! How was the cottage trip? Be brave, momma. You can do it! :grouphug: Then you can encourage me in about 10 years, hahaha.

Were staying at POFQ sept 13-21 in 2014. We've done CBR and CSR

LOVED CSR and hated CBR

Hi there and welcome! POFQ is so nice (we stayed at POR last year but walked over to FQ twice.) You'll have a great time. :thumbsup2

Thank you It was a really hard weekend, but then it was wonderful as well. David got to see cousins of his that he hadn't seen in over 20 years, and I had never met.

I'm glad something good has come of something so tragic... reconnecting with his family members must be comforting.

We ate there for lunch. I had the ahi tuna and dd had the croque Monsieur both very good. We ate by the windows that snow. Also thought the Rose room was very cool.

I'm looking forward to it! :hyper: (Well, that and Bluezoo AGAIN!)

Welcome home, Melissa. :grouphug: Hope the foot-news isn't bad. :scared: You need a vacation from your vacation -- or at least your feet do. ADRs, eh? popcorn:: What's on the radar?

Candace: Come back! :grouphug:

Koh: Getting down to the wire! No changing! :thumbsup2

~~===========================~~

Miss M enjoyed her first ballet lesson. She had the instructor to herself because they failed to mention they were joining classes with the earlier one. :upsidedow Not having to compete (like for the ball in soccer) might be more her speed. We shall see.

Back later. I'm going to attempt to have the kiddo help me wash the dog in the backyard. This shall be an interesting experiment. :rotfl:

So DH nearly spilled it yesterday. We were getting a new camera at Best Buy and the guy asked something about what we were getting it for or whatnot. Well, DH says him oh yeah, we 're getting ready to go on vacation (which the kids didn't know even that yet) and DS goes "we're going on vacation?" And I hit DH and he quickly recovers by saying it's to Six Flags. Ay yi yi...later he tells DS we don't know yet where we're going...*shaking my head*

:coffee: morning Heather! Yay for kitchen being done. We are renovating our basement, adding bathroom, moving laundry room while I'm in Florida. DH is home to organize it. I don't know if I should be happy I won't be around during the upheaval or scared

Woohoo for Portofino! My next UA stay we may try that, or Royal. Def not HRH again. The acoustics of those halls are awful, every sound carried into our room

I know, those cakes are way to expensive, which is why I was so upset that waiter kinda presented it as an afterthought :sad2: he should have presented the cake first, then bought the free Narcoossee's dessert with extra forks for table to share IMO! Oh well!

We stayed a couple of times at the DTD Doubletree as well! LOVED the suites and the cost of them. :-) but definitely like the convenience of being on property now...talk about long bus rides...
Yes, we do like on site better too, and it was only one night Pre pkg. I had decided to come in a day earlier, the peril of having an AP  I did think it was a great option for larger families, nice accomodation at a reasonable rate, and as close to on site as it gets. And I loved the Crabtree & Evelyn toiletries. :goodvibes and Starbucks coffee!
And if on site just gets too unaffordable for us with ever increasing prices, and lower discounts, it may just become my option!!

babyberger: Hope you had fun-fun-fun on our coast. Since you fam is here, I am sure we'll get a chance to meet up one of these days soon. Yep, I will be back and it will be less hectic without family from all over the country there. We will definitely meet up :thumbsup2 Really do love the beach there, nothing like Siesta Key :beach:

Melissa Welcome Back! I vote onsite!

 I dont think hubby understands that off site really isnt an option :lmao:

Sorry the zoo was a bust :sad2: Glad Miss M enjoyed ballet, hopefully she continues to enjoy it.

Actually this is the first vacation that I don't totally feel like I need a vacation afterwards. It is so laid back and everyone slept in and just went with the flow (for the most part at least).

As for ADR's, I need to really think them through because right now we are very MK area intensive, per the kids of course. On the list is Cali Grill, The Wave, BoG, LTT, Sci-Fi, and Coral Reef.

We stayed a couple of times at the DTD Doubletree as well! LOVED the suites and the cost of them. :-) but definitely like the convenience of being on property now...talk about long bus rides...

We have stayed off prop so many times, and I am with you, the convenience just cannot be beat!!!!

So DH nearly spilled it yesterday. We were getting a new camera at Best Buy and the guy asked something about what we were getting it for or whatnot. Quick recovery:scared: Hopefully they don't suspect a thing!!!!

Thanks for asking. Today wasn't a good knee day. Been a busy week, so maybe over did it. Just so many things going on last week! Funeral, BFFs birthday, wedding reception, trip into Seattle for a little cross border shopping, lol.

Hopefully, you will have a lot less of the bad knee kind of days and more and more of the good kind.

Wookiebeen thinking about you. Haven't fully caught up, but guess its true about weddings & funerals bringing family together.

Thank you  Yes is it true, I just hate that it was a funeral that finally brought us all together. David wants to make sure that doesn't happen again. The one thing he insisted on with this upcoming WDW trip was the tour of the Jefferson David house on the way there. We're going to talk more about it tonight, but we may skip that in order to spend more time with family. I've already started talking to JM about it since one of the cousin's has twin girls about a year old.

Thank you

Good morning RC family :goodvibes Got home yesterday afternoon and now back to reality. Mounds of laundry to do and finish unpacking, but it is slow going since Friday my foot started hurting and I am still in a lot of pain when I walk on it, if it doesn't start getting better in a couple of days I will go have it x-rayed to make sure I don't have a stress fracture or something :worried:

HUGS,
Melissa

Take care of yourself. Hopefully it will feel better soon.

Miss M enjoyed her first ballet lesson. She had the instructor to herself because they failed to mention they were joining classes with the earlier one. :upsidedow Not having to compete (like for the ball in soccer) might be more her speed. We shall see.

I'm glad she enjoyed her first lesson.

Back later. I'm going to attempt to have the kiddo help me wash the dog in the backyard. This shall be an interesting experiment. :rotfl:

That does sound interesting. I hope it goes well.

Sounds like you need to super glue, duct tape, and gorilla tape (it's made by the people that make gorilla glue) his mouth shut. :lmao:

It's quiet around here today. Luckily, it's been raining since yesterday, and it's been a nice slow rain.

Well JM is bugging me to watch I, Robot with him, so I'm off to spend time with my Monkey.

Sitting at Honda waiting for my car. They're going ahead and replacing the rear brake pads and resurfacing the rotors. What sort of Disney changing mischief can I get myself into with my iPad and a couple of hours to kill? ;-)

SHEILA! Dropped POLY????? Wow!! where are you now??? BWI???? :)

No no no I was commenting on MAGIC saying she cancelled her Poly ressie but I did consider PBH @ US seriously for a while yesterday but not for too long since I did book SOA for our Poly/Cabana day. Bad thing is I am already thinking about canceling it.

I want to totally immerse myself in the Polynesian atmosphere since it is most likely my only stay there as Bob does not like "tropical" but I may just be sealing my doom too of never going back.

Too much Poly? Glad I have months to ponder :)

Sunday 'Ohana Dinner
Monday Kona Breakfast
Wednesday SOA Dinner
Thursday Kona Dinner

Plus a few meals at Cap't Cooks + F&W for lunch 2 Days

I have Breakfast's at The Wave and GF Cafe
Lunch at the Plaza one day
And Dinners at BOG and Via Napoli

Krystal I could never keep a trip to Disney or anywhere a secret

I think she was referring to Magic dropping the Poly...?
