Free Dining Extension ~ Oct-Dec

Do the Visa offers "leak" ahead of time? Or do we not know about them until they're actually available?

Sometimes a couple weeks ahead of time. Other times just a couple hours.

In the last couple years, has there ever been one get by the leaks and just get announced?

We got a Disney Visa a couple of weeks ago and have already used to to put our deposit down, among other things. Will we get an email or something or is the offer for long-time members only?

maybe, maybe not. Usually DV holders get a 3 day jump on booking offers before they are available to the general public. Its usually posted here before most people get an e-mail from Visa. I don't think I have ever gotten an e-mail about a discount offer before it started; once in awhile later that day.

I've been a DV holder for years and never gotten an email about free dining. I get emails from them but never about a discount. I've found out about them on here.

Same here. I have had Disney Visa for many years and have never heard about free dining from them. Always find our first here on the boards.

Just so you know, you do not have to receive an email to be eligible. Once it is released to Disney Visa, if it is, anyone with the DV is eligible. Whether you have had it for ten years or one day.

If a DV discount is offered, how do you have it applied to an existing reservation?

You just call either CRO or your TA depending on which you used and ask for the Disney Visa free dining. They will then switch the reservation and if you did not make your original payment with your DV, you will need to make a payment with it at that time.

Sounds easy enough. Thanks!

I think for the early fall FD dsct I remember some DV holders never getting an email or one several days later. Lol.

I have the DV website book marked on Safari on my phone. It's the first thing I do when I wake up :rotf2: Dis boards is second!

Just to put things in perspective and so no one is taken by surprise, the Disney Visa website does not usually have the free dining offer on their site for several hours after the promo goes live. For the September FD offer, it was not on their site until 1pm and phone lines opened at 7am. : )

So how's one supposed to know????

I know it doesn't make sense does it? Here most likely will be the first place to hear of any news and then it will be all over Disney websites. Usually there will be a leak days before, but if not, someone on here will get wind of it first thing in the morning and this place will go crazy and you will still know about it here before on the Disney and Disney Visa websites.

Keep up with the boards. Lol
I'm a dv card holder and I received absolutely no notifications from dv.

Yep, me too. I have had DV since 2007 and have never got the free dining email. I have received other discount notifications and I manage my card all online, but never FD emails.
Edit- I just checked my card date.

So people on these boards must be calling in then in order to know before it goes live then, no?

Yep, if there has not been a leak or a rumor, it has been someone who has called asking and they spread the word. However, in most cases there has been a leak or a strong rumor that will lead everyone to call that particular day. Even if there is a leak, it is never 100% guaranteed, so we are all on here first thing on the rumored opening day, just to make sure it is for real. : )

Me too! My DH says that it is an obsession, but I say is to save us money since we are a party of 5 and free dining is a significant saving for us.
