Asking for a friend that is at Disney now(First timer!). She has a 5:00 Hoop-Dee-Doo reservation tomorrow (Saturday. )She wants to go directly from Hollywood Studios to Hoop-Dee-Doo. What would be the best way---and about what time should she leave to get there is plenty of time?? Thank you!!

Walk out front gates hope on bus to fort wilderness and once at FW get bus from outpost to pioneer hall. i"d allow 1.5 2 hrs if not longer.

She can also take a bus to the TTC/MK and go to MK and take a boat from in front of the Magic Kingdom to Fort Wilderness. Very Pretty Scenery on the way.

It takes time for the bus..and Pioneer Hall where the Hoop Dee Doo is at..is located near the back on its property (actually close to bay lake, this is why I suggested boat) so it does take some time to get there.

If I were them..I would go to EPCOT or MK and have a lot less travel times!!

Hope this helps!!

Can you get a bus to magic Kingdom from Hollywood Studios? I thought there was no park to park bus service.

The boat is a lot easier to get to Pioneer Hall than using the bus to get to FW. You have to switch buses within FW to get to Pioneer Hall and it can take forever.

How about walking or boating over to one of the boardwalk area hotels and getting a bus to MK. From the MK bus stop just take the very short walk to the boat for FW.

I would give myself 1.5 hours to get there.

You have to arrive at pioneer hall to check in at least 30 minutes prior to show time (I think it's 30 minutes). We always try to schedule our HDDR day as a MK day as well, it just makes traveling so much easier

Just to add to the choices for them---are there taxi cabs waiting outside of Hollywood Studios, and if so, anyone have an idea what it would cost to get to Hoop_dee_doo??

I am not sure of the cost of the taxi but that is certainly another option.

The taxi will be able to get them to the parking area near the check-in area for the resort. They will then need to take the internal shuttle to Pioneer Hall

There is park to park bus service (well, except for MK to Epcot, where you take the monorail). For travel to and from MK, the buses pick up and drop off at the TTC, rather than right at the gates like at the other parks.

Take the bus from HS to the Contemporary, then boat to FW.

Now this option seems the least complicated! Would this be better than taking the bus to Wilderness Lodge, and then the boat to Fort Wilderness?

That's exactly what we do. Very easy to do. I would plan on an hour, keeping in mind that they tell you to get to the HDDR podium early. So, add a few mins on for that.

There has been park to park service for a looooong time now. The thing to remember is that the buses going to MK will go to the TTC, same as the monorail. But, for the other parks, there is bus service between the other parks. For Epcot and DHS, there is also boat service. Buses take you to the front of Epcot, boats take you to the rear entrance...International Gateway.

You could do that. I never think of doing that, not sure why. But it would certainly work.
The nice thing about taking the boat is, that number one, it's a nice way to travel...very peaceful and scenic. Number two, it drops you off just down the path from Pioneer Hall. It takes about 3 mins to walk up to HDDR from the dock.

Maybe I should tell them to take the first bus that comes along---Contemporary or Wilderness Lodge. And then the boat. This seems the best. Now---suggestions for them to get back to Port Orleans French Quarter from HoopDeeDoo?? I am thinking boat to Magic Kingdom, then bus to POFQ??? Sound about right??

Yes, I think that would be the best for getting to HDD from HS.

That would certainly work unless they are going to the late seating of HDD and MK is closed by the time they finish. The last time we went to HDD (some years ago) there were buses waiting near Pioneer Hall to take guests back to the various resorts after the show.

No, they are doing the 5:00 show. I will be sure to tell them to look out for the resort buses. Thank you all so much for your help and suggestions! Figuring out the correct transportation has always been difficult for me. I appreciate all your input! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

There is no boat at the contemporary that I am aware of...Are you suggesting walking to Magic Kingdom from there?

There definitely is a boat. There are multiple boats. One goes to WL and Fort Wilderness.

Ahh I see it now...looked all over and couldnt find it...Thank you for this...It does open up a question that I am hoping someone can clear up though...

It seems to me that it would be roughly the same wait for a bus to go from HS to Fort Wilderness, then wait for another bus to go from the front of Fort Wilderness to the back where the Hoop Dee Doo event is held...as opposed to wait for a bus to go from HS to Contemporary, wait for a boat to take us to the back of Fort Wilderness where the Hoop Dee Doo event is held...I mean your waiting for two modes of transportation in both situations...Is it really faster that way?

One time after HDDR we thought of going to DTD from the front of the campground. It took a looooong time to get to the front of Fort Wilderness, it is huge. Ever since then, we always take the boat from MK/CR and then take the boat back to MK to leave. The boat dock really is a 3 minute walk from Pioneer Hall.
