Because I have DVC, and I have lots of family who want to come with me to WDW, and I really have to line up my point usage several years in advance. I really don't see me buying both Universal and WDW tickets in the same trip, so I am trying to rough out the development. Based on the rumors and press releases this is what I have so far. What should I add?

2014:

Magic Kingdom: Seven Dwarf Mine Train (Summer)
All Parks - FP+ (interactive queues?) (????)

Universal: Harry Potter - London (Summer)

2015:

Hollywood Studios: Star wars restaurant cantina.
Poly DVC?

2016:

Animal Kingdom: Avatar Land

2018:

Hollywood Studios: Cars Ride

How about Poly DVC... 2015?

This excites me the most... I'm really hoping they go ahead... from what I've read on the Disney Food Blog, I'm so sold.

How about Poly DVC... 2015?

I am not sure that is a draw? Food and wine October had burnt up my points for 2013 and 2014. I have wyndham too, so bonnet creek is in play.

But I am going to skip '14, but 2015 is up in the air. My gut says universal/IoA to experience the Harry Potter world.

I don't think it will ever be economical to use points at GF or Poly. Plus I really like Kidani and Old key West. I could always visit without park tickets. I wonder if there will be any additional restaurants with the DVC poly?

Are their any plans for restaurants at GF Villas?

Probably a typo. Shouldn't Avatar be 2026?

I hope not. There has to be something new besides DVC in the next five years.
Otherwise, I will be using DVC at hilton head - which is great by the way.

Everything on the list beyond 2014 is speculation based on rumors.

It's likely that Disney will invest in DHS between now and the end of the decade, based on the success of the company's investment in DCA. And, so far, it's likely AVATAR at DAK will proceed, despite the lack of official information about what's really planned and when it will open.

However, planning vacations based on specific projects being completed in specific is years is likely to lead to disappointment.

:). It's DVC, its not like I have a lot of choices!

I travel a lot besides my DVC vacations. So, I am asking for best guesses as I'm strategizing how to use my mouse points.

I haven't seen points charts for GF yet---Are they high? I thought BLT would be high too, but it turned out to be not so bad.

My big disappointment with the GF rooms is they are back to one bath in the one bedroom. I thought they realized that was a mistake years ago and changed the plan.

Points chart for GF.

At Kidani, the 1 bedroom with two bathrooms and sleeper chair is perfect for me. Plus the standard view rooms are the lowest points on property when I travel.

I could probably swing a studio at poly someday.

thanks-- not terrible, but the bathroom thing still takes away a lot of the benefit for 1 bedroom.

Disney is going to do more than just one ride in DHS. They have to that park needs way more than just a ride. That's why I stringed believe we will see a cars or Star Wars land in the future. An expansion at this park is a must.

I agree it is a must, but realistically in the next 5 years, what do you expect to be built?

You know they will build a restaurant. Maybe something modeled after be our guest. Quick service during the day, and table service for dinner. This is Disney gold. People are paying crazy admission prices, and then fighting to get into a new attraction in MK to spend more money. Why would disney build attractions, restaurants are just as popular and generate revenue.

I expect more of these highly themed restaurants.

Rumors suggest a scaled down Carsland meaning what? A ride and a restaurant and gift shop? 2017?

I agree with you there. The last Star Wars rumor I heard was Star Wars land would come in two phases. A smaller ride and restaurant, then more rides in the Star Wars land that would give it the land feel. Which that makes sense they need something now and then more that seems like a great idea. Carsland I've heard will be all or nothing. But I've also heard rumors of something other than radiator springs racers because its the same thing as test track. Disney does need to build attractions in DHS as well. Restaurants come with that, DHS has lost some of that flavor they have things like sci fi dine in and stuff but nothing that screams I want to eat in DHS. Attractions and restaurants are needed in DHS everyone can agree that something is needed and fast.

7 dwarfs mine train - November 2013 soft opening IMHO

Star Wars restaurant cantina - I wonder how the cast members in this restaurant will mentally deal with the Star Wars Cantina theme song on endless loop every shift

Avatarland - never, please God.

The Jedi Academy will probably get spruced up.

:lmao:on the song loop.

The latest pictures of mine train I looked at ... It still looks rough. I would be surprised at November. But, I don't really know anything.

Avatar seems to be a go. I real slow go...but a go.

Epcot, left out in the cold? Other than the tapas place, spice road?

There are 6 films filled with music they can use. Soon to be 9 or 12. They could probably run the Cantina song once an hour or even ever 2 and it'd all be good.
