What was the coolest Fish Exchange gift that you gave or received?

On our August 2012 NYC Magic Cruise, someone made an over-the-shoulder mini sling-bag that zips. It had my daughter's name and a picture of Mickey on the front. It was the perfect size to carry the wave phone and a few other odds and ends like chapstick, her KTTW and a pen. Since it could be worn diagonally over one shoulder and hanging at the opposite hip, it she didn't put it down and lose it. BEST FE GIFT EVER. I wish I knew who made them

I'm going on the Alaska cruise. I know you can mail to Florida, but I wasn't aware of any to Vancouver. How do you do it?

Any company who will ship to Florida (e.g. USPS, UPS, FedEx) will also ship to Canada. However - it will be quite a bit more expensive.

We have participated in three FE Exchanges. My DH just loves it!!
A couple of my favorite things: a mouse pad with a picture of the Magic on it. It is my work mouse pad! A key chain made with beads that spell out I (heart) Disney Wonder... and many other things.

Can't tell what i am planning for our cruise to Alaska in just six weeks!! I want it to be surprise!!

oh - and someone else made a keyring attached to a strap made of mickey ribbon. Now, i'm not sure if it's intended purpose is how I use it, but I can actually slip my hand through the strap and that is how i carry my keys, rather than putting them in my pocket or bag. Makes life much easier.

I just loved the bottles to put sand in at each port! But the best hands down was the homemade scrap book makes out of brow paper bags.

DCL does not accept private deliveries in foreign ports. I don't believe you can mail anything to the ship in Vancouver.

You can, however, mail something to yourself at a hotel in Vancouver, if you are staying the night before.

I got some great gifts from our Fantasy cruise in May that included pens and post it notes that read the name of our Ship and dates of cruise; Via packets; sanitizer with holder (that is still on my purse and well used); magnet calendars with our cruise dates; pins; laminated book markers (which I use instead of dog earing) and mini liquors Everyone was so generous!!! My husband who kind of poo-pood the idea initially was very impressed and has taken it upon himself to make most of our next cruise goodies in January. We sent a box to the Port and it worked like a charm...our stateroom attendant even unpacked it and organized it for us (at first I wasn't sure how I felt about that... but it was all good!). I will definitely do it again!!!

For the teens I gave a plastic disney cup with a spoon and package of oreos so they could make blizzards and Mickey key fobs.

We are going to DWD in January and I have already made a note to myself to grab a ton of paper napkins from the parks as I saw the cutest and easiest picture frame to make them with for our next FE!

We gave mini Crown Royal bottles to the men, Savannah Bee Company lip balm to ladies, Disney sunglasses to kids and nail art kits to teen girls. Love everything we received, but DD3 plays with the magnets most.

We love all the hand crafted gifts mainly the Mickey door ears , it was our first cruise and we didn't have any, still using the magnets at home and it's fun!!!
The kids got a very generous gift- pins starter kits with lanyard which they loved the most.
This cruise I'm giving disney beach bags which I manger to find on clearance so I think it's cool (got them for $8 but they are $24 originally)

We received chocolate syrup, a spinning canister with different sprinkles, a sundae bowl and spoon for making sundaes. That was a really cool gift!

There are a lot of great gifts listed here in this thread. However, every time I come across a thread like this and also when I think back on our most recent DCL cruise, I keep coming back to the same thought...


Has the whole FE exchange thing gotten way out of control???


Listen, I'm blown away by everyone's creativity, craftiness, and thoughtfulness. It's just that when everyone needs an extra suitcase for the gifts they are giving out - and sometimes need 2 extra suitcases to bring everything they receive home...maybe, just maybe, it's gone too far.

I do believe the idea of the FE exchanges are great and for the most part, everyone's hearts are in the right place. But perhaps, it wouldn't be a bad idea to scale back a little bit.

How do we ship to the port our fe gifts ahead of time? Is there anything we are not allowed to ship... Food ?

We just did the Van to LA repo cruise and were totally blown away by the gifts we got. Mini scrapbooks, a Mickey picture frame with a picture of the Wonder going under the Golden Gate Bridge, Tuxedo magnet with our DD's name and pearl bead Mickey and Minnie magnets. My DD7's favourite gift was a hand crocheted Ariel cap. She wore it in the airport on the way home and several people asked me where we bought it. As the gifter put her business info down I was happy to pass it on.

My favorites were the useful things like highlighters, clothes pins, etc., and the personalized bookmarks, jewelry. One sweet lady gave us a couple of puzzle pieces each day, which ended up being a picture of the Wonder in Alaska with our cruise dates on it! Loved that... So much fun

The key to it not getting out of control is to keep the group a manageable size, even if that means having two or more smaller groups.
Just like everything else on the cruise, except for the muster drill of course, if your not having fun, do something else!

They're handmade, but permissible because they were purchased online? I know bringing this type of food on a ship can be difficult. Are they "factory sealed"?
