This is very old. It happened in 2003 at Disneyland. Disney took full responsibility as it was discovered management managers and attractions managers were signing off on work as completed with out checking the finished product.

A piece that ensures the car stays on the track came off during a run of the train. CMs noticed it and reported the train be taken out of rotation. Before it was taken out it was loaded with guests and sent on one more run. During this last run the train slightly detailed but due to other issues the train engine went over the first passenger car. One person died due to the incident. I'm on my phone or I would post links but a quick google search for Disneyland 2003 BIg Thunder accident will bring up several reputable sources.

On September 5, 2003, a 22-year-old man died after suffering severe blunt trauma and extensive internal bleeding in a derailment of the Disneyland Resort Big Thunder Mountain Railroad roller coaster that also injured 10 other riders.[15] The cause of the accident was determined to be improper maintenance.[16] Investigation reports and discovery by the victim's attorney confirmed the fatal injuries occurred when the first passenger car collided with the underside of the locomotive. The derailment was the result of a mechanical failure which occurred due to omissions during a maintenance procedure. Fasteners on the left side upstop/guide wheel on the floating axle of the locomotive were not tightened and safetied in accordance with specifications. As the train entered a tunnel the axle came loose and jammed against a brake section, causing the locomotive to become airborne and hit the ceiling of the tunnel. The locomotive then fell on top of the first passenger car, crushing the victim.[17]

As stated above, this sounds like the accident that occurred at Disneyland in 2003, not a current incident. There's nothing on the news feeds or any of the social media about anything happening recently.

Rather than allow an unconfirmed rumor to go rampant here, I'm going to close this thread until such time as there may be an actual news report.
