The Guarantee / GTY stateroom anticipation/discussion thread!

Sorry I'm delayed in posting the info - I think I noticed our assignment a little after 230pm and then got stuck on a call. We were also upgraded to Cat 5A - 10646. I'm very happy to get Aft and starboard and I read quick reports this location was quiet, even though it's under Cabanas. I loved the deck 10 overhang so that doesn't bother me - just hope it's not too noisy. I don't have any complaints - very pleased! :yay:

Woot! Congrats!!

Wondering why some 7A were upgraded to category 5 and others were not.

We did not received an upgrade to cat 5, wonder if that had to do with having our dining reservations linked to another family. For those who booked 7A and were upgraded to cat5, did you have your reservations linked to another family or stateroom?

I bet it has more to do with when you booked. First come, first served? I booked back in February. I can't imagine it's random or people would get upset. There are such a limited number of 7A cabins, that many of us were bound to be upgraded. I'm sure they sold (and are still selling!) 7As long after they sold out of actual 7A rooms!

To answer your question, no I did not have my reservation linked to any other person's. However, it doesn't make sense to me that dining would have anything at all to do with cabin assignment. Can you just link your reservation with another person's for dining only? Or does linking your reservation apply to all aspects of the cruise, as in wanting rooms near each other. If the second is true, then I CAN see that being an issue. They maybe were trying to keep you near whomever you are linked to?

Maybe check when you booked and where your room is in comparison with your linked friend's room.

Oh and I wanted to add that they still have 20 some odd actual 7A rooms that somebody has to go in, so clearly not everyone can be upgraded. :(

got our room assignments as well, super exciting moment after checking for days lol We were 7A and were put it in to a great location Aft 5A on Deck 9! Can't wait!!!

We booked back in early February too. Our friends booked about a month later. This is our first Disney cruise and this is their fourth. Their room assignment is also 7A and 6 doors down from us.

Not complaining at all about not getting upgraded. I am getting what I paid for. Just curious what might trigger an upgrade. Maybe it is like WDW pin codes - another great mystery in randomness. :confused3

We are booked in a GT room as well on the Dream for the 9/19 sailing. Wondering when we will get assigned. I keep checking but no luck. :o

I'm on the 9/8 sailing and we found out today. Should be soon!! :)

Awesome, thanks! Maybe next Monday. I noticed on cruisefish.net you can look up your sailing and pricing. Our sailing had dropped and so I called Dreams Unlim. (my travel agent) and they upgraded us to a balcony (4 Cat. higher) it's still a GTY but still I'm excited!

We are GTY for a 7A on that sailing! Are you participating in the Fish Extender?

We also booked a 7A GTY! We decided not to do the FE. DD10 will be really busy with starting a new dance year right before our trip, and we're doing a few park days before and a few park days after, plus a MNSSHP. I didn't want to have to carry around any extra stuff. As it is I'm trying to figure out how in the heck I am gonna pack everything we need without needing a Uhaul to transport my luggage lol. :faint:

Got it! My daughter (7) and I are just going to WDW the night before and night after and are really bummed about missing the MNSSHP!! We just started a late FE group and have just 6 cabins so far. Check out the meets page if you'd like! You are welcome to join in if you change your mind!

I think you really got a great location even though you didn't get an upgrade. I would much rather have the room you got(with a slight obstruction) then be on deck 10 with all the noise. We booked a 7a and were given a 5c. I'm very happy to be on deck 7. I booked in early June so I don't think it has anything to do with when you booked.

We sail on 8/4 and haven't gotten our assignment yet. Anyone else in the same boat? 13 days away and I'm super anxious and excited! our first DCL cruise!

EEEk! you're 13 days out and you don't have your room assignment? i'd be worried, you should have your luggage tags and stuff in the mail by now. I'd call DCL and check on it.
