What is the difference in the hook ups?

We are going to buy a used travel trailer/camper/5th wheel in the spring of next year. Saving for it now! But I know from asking and reading that I need to get my site booked as soon as possible. We would like to go down October 2014. What I don't know is what the difference in the sites are? And what is the most desirable? We have never been one to book a preferred room because the resorts aren't really all that large. We are big fans of CSR but with a camper will be moving to the Fort.

What is the difference between Premium and full hook up?
I know preferred is all about location but is that important at the Fort?
And which location is the most desirable?
And can you request/book a specific loop when you book?

What is the difference between Premium and full hook up?

The difference is the space you have at your site. A full hookup site is farther from the general amenities (pools, marina, stores/trading posts.) The sites have cement parking pad, but the back of the site is sand/crushed shell. Preferred sites are similar to full hookup but in a preferred location, this is my preference for the 300 loop preferred sites due to the distance to the dog park.

Premium sites are fully paved sites, no sand/seashell and are closest to the major general amaenities and bus routes.

It depends on how you do disney, for our group we like the preferred 300 loop as its closer to the dog park, and a closer to the marina.

And can you request/book a specific loop when you book?

You can request, and we request 300 loop every time we book, but there is no gaurentee we will get the loop. However, Disney has managed to have us at the requested loop most of our trips.

Yes jbrostek was on the money. I will add some details.

Premiums are paved 18 feet wide and the other three types are 12 feet. Premiums also have a square/4-sided picnic table and a lid that closes down on the grill. The others have your traditional rectangular picnic table and open grill.

Premiums are the biggest sites and most wide open if you have a long trailer with slideouts, awnings, etc. but they are also the most expensive.

I'll add that we've pretty much been happy everywhere, but we have the easiest time getting our 39' fifth wheel into the premium sites. Some of the preferred sites in the back of the loop can be difficult to maneuver into. So depending on what size you think you might be buying, and your experience with maneuvering into tight places, you might consider a premium.

Ed I forgot about the sites actual footprints being different. I actually have never had an issue fitting in any site and I am a 38' DSDP with 2 slides. We stayed in the 500 loop once, but the rest of the stays have been 300 or 1400. Out of them all I really liked where our group was in the back center of the 300 loop as we had 2 side by side and one directly accross the loop road.
