August 17, 2013 - A Fantasy Cruise to Paradise

But being a slightly neurotic OCD mother who itineraries & lists everything we 'have a plan':flower3:

Oh I like you already Indans123! It takes one OCD list-loving 'mama with a plan' to know one! You should see my FE excel chart - it's even color coded! LOL!

We'll have to compare charts:woohoo::woohoo:

We are in Florida for 3 weeks and I have everyday itemised & listed down to parks, eateries, shopping/mall timings, pool time etc. all suitably colour coded and with pictures were deemed necessary :confused3 I even work out how many tea bags we need to see us through the 3 weeks :rolleyes1

I've met my match! You know, we are probably frightening the others! What non-listers, non-planners don't know is that all the planning/hatching is part of our 'fun' and anticipation. Really it is!

Mine, too.:lmao: I even have a second excel sheet that I organized by age so I know how many of each item I need.

Yay! Another one! Good to know Indans123 and I aren't alone! Yep, mine tallies both row (names, room, age) and column (by gift/age grouping). Got ALL the bases covered! Yahoo!

I did that when we went to WDW the first time as a family. I had a binder with tabs (reservations, various parks, hotel info, flight info, food, etc). Each section had the appropriate tips, phone numbers, etc. lol I've learned to let it go a LITTLE.

Still have my binder like that from our first Disney cruise. Time to update it! Once on board - I'll likely never even look at it!

FINALLY heard from my son's MIA friend. Please change Grant P favorite character to Goofy. Sorry if this is an inconvenience.

I agree about the possible overflowing of FE's with gifts but don't think we will have a problem with our FE, we got so engrossed with making them that we didn't even think about the size:confused3 My husband even asked what on earth were we expecting from the FE exchange TV's and laptops:rotfl2:

Anyway we will give ours on 1st full day at sea and 2nd smaller something for the children on the pirates evening afternoon, if that makes sense.

I have seen a 'conversation' about FE exchange dates that got quite heated after a lady said her small child was quite disappointed when there wasn't a goodie to collect on some days. I can see that could happen if your child is young and someone did suggest that you could always take an extra FE for your own child, which I thought was quite useful.

Must stress though not my comments and as mentioned the discussion got very heated/rude!

I do agree that everyone does it at their own leisurely pace:)

Most people hand out the first few days. So YES, our FEs will be overflowing. But I am sure there are some out there who can hold back and deliver just a little into the cruise. I know we will. :lmao: As mentioned before, we will hand out twice - once at the very beginning and I guess one on the last sea day. ;)
But I do not want to tell everyone when to deliver. :scared1: This is everyones vacation and we all want to enjoy. :lmao:

May I join your club? ;) :lmao:
We go to the US twice every year and this year our summer vacation is 4 1/2 weeks and I make plans for every day, print it out nicely and carry my binder with me but then, once we set foot on US soil, we don't stick to it very much. :rotfl2:
But you know, just in case ...... I HAVE a plan. :lmao:

Planning and making those spreadsheets is so much fun. It keeps me "sane" between vacations.
And it is SO GOOD to hear that there are others, who do the same thing, out there. :goodvibes

It's so great the read all these posts to know I'm not alone with my crazy. Now if I can just have my husband read through all this, he thinks I'm the only one.

There are so many questions about characters and ear piecings I think I covered them all in the below.

We love love love all the characters but if we had to pick here are our selections.

Danielle (Me) DDS - Minnie Mouse - Pierced No Allergies
Allen (dad/hubby) AAS - Goofy No Allergies
Ethan 10 (boy) EAS- Sully No Allergies
Robby 7 (boy) RJS- Chip n Dale or Mike W. (Monsters Inc.) No Allergies
Makayla 4 (girl) MMS - Ariel or Minnie too - Pierced No Allergies

Thanks so much. See you soon - 5 weeks and 4 days, but who's counting. ME!!!

Okay, and as promised, we finished the deck lists.

Please be warned, the files are a bit big and it might take a few seconds to download (open).

We did check it twice, but mistakes happen! Please check if the information and location (stateroom number) is correct. Thank you!

We don't take part at the FE, but is it possible, that we will be added to the list, so that the other member of the group can find us on board ?
Maybe it is also interesting how old are our girls are..

Dizneeat you have organised this awesomely :dance3:

Thank you so much for our time & effort :cloud9:

Dizneeat,
That deck list is awesome. My niece does the delivering and she just looked at it and said, "wow, that lady is something else". I dont know if you know how hard it is to impress a 16 year old. Thanks again!

Dizneeat,
Since you are in charge and awesome, I figured I would ask how we will handle room changes/upgrades ? We have been upgraded on our last 3 cruises. One method that worked well in the past was the organizer, you, having a copy of the list in your fish mailbox and anybody who changes can mark your list. All participants would then check your list the first night after everybody has boarded and update their own stateroom list. I do not want to mess up your work but offering a suggestion. Thanks again!

Hi everyone --- haven't been able to keep up with the group ever since I started the new job. The kids have started their countdown - so much for keeping it a surprise!

I see some familiar fellow travelers from past cruises so looking forward to seeing folks again soon.

I have a lot of catching up to do one the board but I was wondering if the FE List was closed or still open.

It's me, dh and our three kids DS(12), DS(9) and Dd (5) on this trip. We live in NJ now and can't wait for vacation!

Awesome. Thanks! Quick question on the initials... What order did you post them (first/last/middle or first/middle/last)?

Val
PS - You made me laugh out loud literally, Debby (or Kevin)! Thanks!

We put the initials first, middle, last.
You seem to have some pretty elaborate fishie gifts!
Can't wait!

Wow I thought I was organized and paid attention to detail, not anymore, you did a great job organizing this and preparing us to deliver our goodies to each room! Looking forward to meeting you and everyone else!
