A rabbi, a priest, and a pastor board the Wonder: we're back!

this is supremely annoying! I totally responded from my phone and it's not here...
:rotfl2: :cool1: Woot woot sounds like a trip to Disneyland in the making!

Yep! We will see how it all pans out

Would you do WDW for 2 nights/one day post
cruise?

Well....for me, from Canaveral, yes. If it were ME driving from Miami, no. I despise driving so unless it was 3 nights...probably not. But that's ME.

:rotfl: Like he doesn't know you better than that! Would K and Jeff go too?

K has a different break schedule so no, but on Jeff it remains to be seen. He should have a work trip to that area and it will depend on how that seminar times, or doesn't, with the school trip.

'Id save the points and do amStudio. The GCV points are high especially over the weekends. It's hard to go without a kitchen and that whole other bedroom and washer dryer but sometimes, for shorter trips, it's worth it.

Yah, I need to figure out how many nights. Band trip is only 2 nights, early sat arrival, mon pm departure. I'd rather get there on Sunday but don't want to miss a performance so...we will see. Studio works well if it is just the boys and I, less so if Jeff. LOL!

Right but then at least you don't get stuck leaving the entire tip. Disney outs it in there. I'm guessing you'll do separate checks per family?

Maybe, maybe not. Depends on DDP versus not

That is a great deal, the three days. What happened to adding the DDP for only the days you wanted it? That seems short lived with DVC. Great idea though. It would so pay off on $$$ buffet days.

Yes, that was short lived! It was lovely though! Mary Ellen and I did the DxDP for a couple nights on our first trip, it was a fabulous way to work it!

We do have a split stay so can break it up if we want, we will see!

You're too funny! It's awesome you have until Wednesday. I'd be shouting from the rooftops. :woohoo: It didn't come across as bragging at all; just excitement. goodvibes:

 Thank you!

I don't know if you saw my post, and don't mean to be pushing this, but you and Joshua are more than welcome to drive up with me to WDW.

I don't think I saw it. That's so sweet of you. If I finally decide on the WDW portion, I'll take you up on that. Sharing gas and the cost would be great. And the drive. I looked into cars for just the day and they're like $170. :faint: For one day. WTH? I also looked into shuttles but they take like 7 hours. :scared:

Well....for me, from Canaveral, yes. If it were ME driving from Miami, no. I despise driving so unless it was 3 nights...probably not. But that's ME.

I'm so torn......I really want the day at MK and two night DVC. 4 hours isn;t that bad but the cost, minus the points, would be about $500 extra. I can't decide. I really want to stay at the VWL now.

Gotcha. It's so hard to plan without their schedules.

A Studio would totally work. At 7 months, we found everything open. I have a feeling you'll have good luck if you decide to go.

That's great you've got a split, you can stack the $$$ meals on one part if that's what you decide. I wonder why they took that DVC/DDP per day option away? Must have been losing money.

We stayed at the lodge in a suite on our first vacation to WDW together. It was magical! I went out to the geyser and watched it go off so many times! I loved it. We took the boat launch to a bunch of places as Fran was still able to walk wherever she wanted on that trip. It was the next one we realized she needed a wheelchair and broke down and got a scooter. When we got home she bought one so we never had to rent again, except we did until we understood the replacement of batteries.

Now we are good with it all and don't need to worry about batteries because we replace them often enough.

I really want to stay there now. I bet your suite was amazing. Any pics? :flower3:

I didn't have much of an interest in staying there before this after-cruise option came into play. I've been reading the super thread and looking at pics and I think Joshua will love it. And I'll get to cross a new DVC off the list.

I'm glad you bought her a scooter. Much less hassle I hope. I read about so many batteries wearing a down. Do you bring extra on trips? Are they big?

I would have to get out the album and scan them in, unfortunately I don't have time for that with everything going on right now.

Each scooter requires two batteries, they weigh about 10 lbs each and a set of replacement batteries (purchased from our local battery supply store and not a mobility supply store) run $120. They're $250 if you get them at the mobility stores, although they install them for you. So, no I don't travel with extras. Don't you remember my little debacles with the scooter on my last WDW trip?

The battery is the big lump on the floorboards of the scooter you see below. It isn't tiny.

How did I miss the countdown!?

The battery is bigger than I thought. Cute kitty too. :cutie: She or he looks very comfy. I haven't seen all your kitties but that looks like Sunni. :goodvibes

That's Mac. He and Sunny are/were both flame point Siamese cats so their coloring is very similar. I wouldn't have taken the the picture of the scooter on the back of the car if Mac hadn't made himself so comfortable.

Yes the battery is pretty big. It's the heaviest of the four parts that the scooter separates into.

He's very very handsome. I remember Sunny being a little thinner but they look alike. So sweet. I love fur babies.

The battery looks heavy. Smart to carry two with you.

Hope you're feeling better over the whole neighbor fiasco. Blessing is disguise.

Today I'm booking the DVC portion. I know it's going to be work but Joshua really really wants an MK day and he's earning it. He's working so hard on his bar mitzvah and d'var Torah along with his portions.

Still debating on flying into Miami Friday after school vs Saturday morning so we can have a nice full day in Miami.

That is the best reason of all to do it :thumbsup2

He's working his guts out. He's one of those kids that doesn't ask for much so when he really wants something it's easy to say yes. He got my grateful gene. :lmao:

Three months from Friday is the big day! I can't believe it's so close. :hyper:

Pam is also going to book us a Palo brunch on the chance Joshua makes friends and ditches me. Can't wait! Now it's just a gamble as what sea day to book it. I'm so excited!

No, there are two inside that chamber, it takes that much energy to power the scooter. At about 25lbs per batter there is no way in he** I'm carrying two with me!

Oh yeah, I'm so over that! I've found a house that I want, now all we need to do is find the money! :rotfl2:

Looks like I spoke too soon. Joshua thinks Chloe will be sad if we add WDW on. :sad2: He said the cruise is enough.

He's right of course. The girls aren't going on the cruise for a few reasons and are ok with it but Michael and Joshua say that adding two DVC nights and an MK day isn't fair.

The VWL are open and I was this close to booking. I'm glad I didn't as I would have had to borrow points.

Thanks to everyone for the opinions and tips.

And special :thanks: and  to Pam for offering us a ride to WDW with her. Can't wait to meet you girl and get our Palo ON!

Back to cruise only planning. It's going to be amazing.

He is so sweet to be thinking of them even though its his special trip! :goodvibes

Glad you didn't book it and have those points in holding.

You're welcome :) I can't wait to meet you guys! I was thinking about Palo yesterday, it's so delicious popcorn::

What a sweet boy to be thinking ng about his sisters like that. He is definitely wisers than his years. I hope he mets some friends so that you and Pam can enjoy Brunch at Palo.

He sounds like a great kid! I was just going to report that the Google Maps App for the Iphone is awesome..I've been using it as my GPS this week in Philadelphia and NJ.

I'm so glad I didn't book and have the points in holding. I'm also secretly sad that we're not going to WDW. I really wanted to try VWL. I'm more sad about the DVC part than the MK part. I love staying DVC.

Thank you. He's very sweet, considerate, and compassionate. :goodvibes

Think we should book a brunch and dinner? Are any of the MDRs worth missing or should I not as its my first cruise?

He said he wants to go to the Vibe's opening night shindig and any treasure hunts around the ship for sure. He also loves trivia of any kind so I know he'd be up for that. I wish I could find out what other non video game activities or around the ship activities they'll have for his age group. If I could we could make solid Palo reservations.

So Google maps a separate app from Google?

Are you in Philadelphia? Cool! What for? And Jersey?

Yep..its a seperate app.

Just got home...My company headquarters is in Philly and I have part of my team that works in NJ so I was out there this week to do mid year reviews. Very fun! ;) I volunteered for a bump today and ended up with almost $600 in a SW flight voucher and only got home 4 hours later than planned. I smell a DL trip in my future. :)

Aw...what a great kid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wish my kids thought like that, I'd love to think they would but gosh, not so sure about that at all.
