How long do you think the waiting lists will be for each resort?

I was just added to the list for SSR yesterday. I am buying 125 points with a Sept UY and will get 2012 and 2013 points. My guide seems to think it won't take long . I hope not anyway as my daughter and her husband are going on a cruise in November and want a couple days in the parks. I told her I would book her a room where ever I can get one. We are going for a week the second week of January and I want to get it booked .

I was wondering the samething. We have been on the WL since Mar 11th for 50 pts at BCV with an Oct or Sept use year.

I am astounded by all the long waitlists for the older DVC resorts. Did this just happen at the beginning of 2013?

I ask because late October, I called my sales rep to add on 50 BWV villa points and there was no wait list mentioned then. We have VWL & AKV with a December UY & she said she had points available. I told her that I'd really prefer not to have Dec. UY points with BWV & explained why. She said OK & I had my pick of either June, August, September, or October UY's. So I chose June UY & really don't mind having 2 membership #'s. Transaction was very smooth. I had no idea till I read this thread that people now have to wait many long months to add on. Makes me feel very blessed.

Price increase and in the case of BWV a promo offer. We added a small contract in Nov with no wait list but have been on the list since 4/2 at the promo and pre increase price for another. Will probably be another 1-2 months which is fine for us. Were it not for the incentive on the old price we would have just waited and done resale but this fits our needs better.

Not currently, no. Many people went on the waiting list at the old price prior to the 3/20 price increase on the older resorts, There was a short time where there were incentives at BWV at that old price, plus the incentives.

Back on May 3rd I posted to this thread that I had just talked to my guide and he said there were 9 people ahead of us waiting for BWV Oct. UY points. Shortly after that someone posted that two 200 point Oct UY BWV contracts had just been taken back by DVD so there should be 400 Oct. UY BWV points in the system soon.

That was back in early May so I figured they should be in the system by now and we should have moved up the list some. So, we called our guide today to ask him where we are on the list. He checked and said we are number 10 on the list for BWV Oct. UY points. Say what??!! We haven't moved up at all in over 2 months??!! I'm wondering what happened to those two 200 point contracts they bought back. Is there any way of finding out if they ever made it into the system?

I have had several fully loaded BWV contracts taken in the past few months (from a variety of use years). If you haven't moved up the list then something is going on that we don't know about. It comes as no surprise, really, as I think that the "guides" and DVC in general treat wait list customers somewhere in the middle of how they treat direct buyers of current resorts and resale buyers. I believe that they are purposely vague when it comes to sharing details about the wait lists. Good luck getting this sorted out.

This is correct and there were 2 identical contracts OCT UY loaded, both taken in the same week. There is a thread were it says that the deed was recorded in mid June. Good luck I would have thought you would have moved a little bit! I hope DCV is not holding back until Oct just so they do not have to give 2012 points!
