Does anyone know how to get from POP to the Hoop Dee Doo at Fort Wilderness on Disney transportation?

One option I can think of is to take the bus from POP to MK, then the boat from MK to Ft Wilderness. There might be a better option, but that's the first one off the top of my head.

I have run into the same thing but with different resorts from Pop.. What we have done in the past when coming from the resort itself is taking the bus to Downtown Disney than once downtown taking the bust to fort wilderness. That's what I've done but maybe someone else knows a better option:thumbsup2

Offtoppic here....but I just wanted to add that the original russian stroganoff recipe inded has finely diced pickles in it :)

Good to know! Learn something new every day!

Only 36 days till I am at Pop! 2 nights at AKL first to unwind and rest up for the 8 days of park hopping ahead of us! Cannot wait!!

I guess I don't really care where at Pop we stay when we go in September...but have a toddler so prefer quiet, distance doesn't matter as he will be in a stroller, rec's??

I requested the 80's building only because that's mine and DH's era....love it! We got a preferred pool room. I have no idea what its going to be like but I don't care....I'm in Disney, all will be good lol

We are planning a trip for Fall of 2014. We usually stay at Mods, but are looking to save some money this time around. I've finally settled on POP, but I wanted to know if preferred is necessary. And if we go with standard, is there a certain location I should request? It looks to me like '60s and '70s are good bets.

We stayed in the 80s pool view last year,by the rodger rabbit. Anywho DH found a "shortcut" path to the buses by going by the bldg with the pac man ghosts instead of walking past the comp pool and the keyboard. It worked alot better and I was one of those omg what if we get the 80/90s and its too far ppl. Not anymore any bldg is AWESOME!

If you paid for a preferred pool view, you will be in the 60's facing the Hippy Dippy pool. Those are the only preferred pool view rooms. Be forwarned though depending on when you are travelling, that can be a very noisy area IMO. That is the busiest pool as it has all of the pool activities and DJ and all. Good Luck and enjoy your trip!! :)

I didnt request it, I just requested the 80's building. On my reservation it says preferred pool room. I hope we're in the 80's room. Aren't there rooms that face the pool there too?

We always book standard at POP and ask for a lakeview (this is just our preference). With that being said, my daughter just got back from her 1st anniversary trip at POP. She had requested a king bed, lakeview, Tramp building and got exactly what she asked for.:dance3: The room was handicap accessible room (no sure why). When they came in from magic hours on their first night there, my daughter turned on the shower to warm the water, went to get her pj's and came back to a flooded bathroom:scared1:. It was midnight and no mousekeeping on duty so the front desk asked if they would mind moving rooms. They moved to the 80's (CD disk) building, right across from the giant Roger Rabit. They LOVED that building, she said it was a quite area and like the other post said, they found the shortcut to the bus stop and she said it was sooo much closer. She said she would not every add requests to her future ressie's again, since she was sooo pleasantly surprised with the "new" room.

It really depends on what you want: If you want to just be closer to the food court then yes you would want to request preferred. If you want to be close to a pool, you would want to request Standard Pool View, if you want to be closest to the Hippy Dippy pool, you would want to request Preferred Pool View. Not sure if you saw this on the first post all about POP but here is a map showing the locations and this may help with your decision. http://api.viglink.com/api/click?format=go&key=debb21522a2ba14b8d7bcbd1910c5bdb&loc=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.disboards.com%2Fshowthread.php%3Ft%3D3000350&v=1&libId=b85bd6ec-0dc4-41d7-86c4-2c4f7bd521d7&out=http%3A%2F%2Fi962.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fae107%2Fbraverman4%2FPOP%2520Century%2520Thread%2FPopCenturyMap2012RoomCategoriesFINAL.jpg&ref=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.disboards.com%2Fforumdisplay.php%3Ff%3D12&title=POP%20Century~Unofficially%20the%20Grooviest%20FAQ%20Thread%20%237~Sept%202012%20-%20The%20DIS%20Discussion%20Forums%20-%20DISboards.com&txt=Refer%20to%20Pop%20Century%202012%20Map&jsonp=vglnk_jsonp_13730400611228

80's does not have a pool, 90's does and they are adjoining so you will be close to a pool. Look at this layout and it may help http://api.viglink.com/api/click?format=go&key=debb21522a2ba14b8d7bcbd1910c5bdb&loc=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.disboards.com%2Fshowthread.php%3Ft%3D3000350&v=1&libId=b85bd6ec-0dc4-41d7-86c4-2c4f7bd521d7&out=http%3A%2F%2Fi962.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fae107%2Fbraverman4%2FPOP%2520Century%2520Thread%2FPopCenturyMap2012RoomCategoriesFINAL.jpg&ref=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.disboards.com%2Fforumdisplay.php%3Ff%3D12&title=POP%20Century~Unofficially%20the%20Grooviest%20FAQ%20Thread%20%237~Sept%202012%20-%20The%20DIS%20Discussion%20Forums%20-%20DISboards.com&txt=Refer%20to%20Pop%20Century%202012%20Map&jsonp=vglnk_jsonp_13730400611228"

The 80's section is ALL standard rooms so if your ressie shows Preferred pool view, you will be in the 60's section since that is the only area that is preferred pool view (surrounding the main Hippy Dippy pool). The preferred pool rooms are more expensive so if you really want the 80's section, you would want to call Disney (or whoever you booked your trip with) and ask to change to a standard room (save some money) and then hope for some pixie dust that they grant your request that you get the 80's section :goodvibes. Just remember that a request is just that, a request. As long as you remember that, you won't be disappointed. POP is great! :thumbsup2

Nice! AKL is very peaceful! And then bring on the POP! :cool1:

I guess I don't really care where at Pop we stay when we go in September...but have a toddler so prefer quiet, distance doesn't matter as he will be in a stroller, rec's??

Suggest lakeview, upper floor as those floors are generally quieter. :goodvibes

We don't feel the need for preferred, we actually prefer the lake view rooms, which fall under the standard category.

Our favorite is 60s, but you can't go wrong with 70s either. :goodvibes

Very true... the hippy dippy pool does get hopping!

Request lake view, they are quieter rooms. Pool views are louder in general.

Agree.:)

Suggest you call reservations and confirm your booking category and if you are in pref pool view change to standard or std pool view so the 80s request has a chance of being met. :goodvibes

That would be a STANDARD pool view. The 80's are standard rooms so the pool view rooms from here would be categorized as std pool view. Preferred pool view is available only in the 60's as I previously stated. :)
If I were you and MY ressie said that I would call and check cuz I bet donuts to $$ you are paying for a preferred room if it lists preferred on your reservation. I have travelled to WDW Many times and have spent Almost 120 nights just at POP. I know how POP works pretty well, have stayed there 38 nights this year alone. So if it were me I'd check. Cuz I bet you are in a preferred pool room. Just trying to help! :)

The 50s, 80s and 90s all have Standard Pool View rooms. The only other category in the 80s is Standard. If you booked Preferred Pool View you will be in the 60s. If you want pool view in the 80s you'll have to change your category, request 80s and hope they don't put you in the 50s(it could happen).
