Hello! We have become official DVC members this past week with AKV! We are planning our trip for June 19th-28th, 2014 and looking forward to learning about the resort!

There aren't any chairs (that I saw) in the splash area. It is kind of behind the chairs in it's own little area. You would need to stand to watch, but if you were standing in the right area, you could see some of the pool where the waterslide ends too.

Darn, was hoping i could relax a bit and watch them play. And I will make the two of them stay together at all times -- I just can't be in two places at once, and I am nervous about little ones in the water without adult supervision! This will be my first trip to the World with the kids by myself. I am thinking it will be a little more hectic/stressful but kids will enjoy it.

Just had a late wait-list come through- going to be spending 2 nights (July 23-25) at AKL Jambo in a studio savannah view. Short stay, but it would have been tough to be at Disney and not spend time at our favorite resort. Can't wait!

Thanks! We have never stayed at the AKL so we took a chance on choosing it as our home resort. However, we have done Jiko's twice so visually we have seen the resort (Jambo House) and it's beautiful!

Right now we have a tentative 11 possible people - my immediate family and we have extended an offer to include my DSIL and DBIL for 5 days and my DHs cousin and her three children for 5 days. Everyone has some thinking to do because even though we are covering the rooms they have to cover the airline tickets, park tickets and food.

My DHs cousin has one child that is high end autistic and this way she's got people to help her with him yet still have her whole family together in WDW. She needs some time to work to see if he can handle the trip.

Thanks! Our biggest concern is the transportation. I think we have just gotten spoiled over the last 5 years. However, the kids are older and at least I'm not driving in rush hour traffic!!!!

We will also be new to ordering groceries. I know about Garden Grocers, but is that everyone's preference or there a better option? I really don't want to rent a car.

I love that I don't have to rent a car when we come here. I personally have used garden grocer several times. They seem to have a good selection . Prices could be better but you are paying for convenience. They have never messed up my order and was there when they said they would be.

I know there are both sit upright chairs with umbrellas and lay out chairs. My deck overlooked this pool.

We are staying CL at AKL later this month. I have been corresponding with IPO and they sent this info over to me. I had never heard of it, so on the off chance y'all didn't know about it either, I thought I'd pass it along!

Animal Kingdom Lodge Night Vision Safari : Guest must be 8 years and up to attend .

**Now offered Wednesday, Friday, Saturday ,Sunday and Monday .

Join one of our Animal Programs Cast Members on an hour long Safari Experience at Animal Kingdom Lodge. This experience takes place after dark and is reminiscent of a nighttime African Game Drive through the savannas. All guests will have use of night vision binoculars to make the most of their viewing experience. Plan on seeing our animals and resort like never before.

A portion of the Tour price will be donated to the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund..

We are going January 25- Feb 1st Jambo House (we have a studio) First time at AKL!! Last year we stayed at Beach Club and Boardwalk, and have also stayed at POFQ and POLY and WL. Really excited to try AKL!!

It was totally amazing!! It was so perfect.. I loved every minute. Wish I could convince. DH to do it again for our 10th!
