Long title, but how cool - come on, eating a krispy kreme and watching us go through the final part of the Gatun Locks - it's pretty cool.
We got food in Beach Blanket Buffet and found a table along the windows.
Really a neat view from the tables along the side as you look over the side of the ship and can see just how close we are to the walls of the lock.
Also you could watch everything from the goofy pool as they played the ship's camera on the funnel vision. And look how nice the pool deck looks with all the towels neatly on the chairs - like a first class resort!
Breakfast - not the best today - think we got there after the crowds and pickings were slimmer - didn't eat too much of this breakfast. But did have a tall glass of Coke - I really needed some caffeine!
But can you beat this view? no. no you can't.
At least Dad didn't think so.

By 7:45am we were out of Gatun Lock and done with breakfast!
Next we zigzag through the lake - a result of the lake being a man-made lake created by flooding the valley that surrounded an existing river - so we're actually following the original path of the river (deeper water). And we anchor at 8:30 in the lake until we can continue on. Military ships and cargo ships will sometimes have to anchor over night and for hours in the freshwater lake - I've been told by former crew members of either - they use the time to wash down the ships with the abundant freshwater from the lake.
