We received this travel update from DonaldDoleWhip tonight.


He said, "We're in Orlando right now (it was cheaper to fly late tonight and stay at an airport hotel), but we'll be heading to WDW early in the morning."

"Before arriving at the airport, we had dinner at a local sandwich shop. Our favorite is slow roasted turkey breast with mango salsa, cilantro, and red onions on multigrain bread."







On our flight, we didn't eat anything exciting. What made this flight memorable was the incredible view of NYC. We've never seen it so clearly - sorry my phone pics are so bad!"

Hello all! Just wanted to pop in and wish everyone at Happy 4th! Wishing I was in Disney, but seeing all these great updates lessens the sting of not being there just a bit!

Vicki, I agree, that photo of the Statue of Liberty is very fitting today. Thanks Mr. DDW for sharing those photos. I recall driving across the GW Bridge a few times.

And a Kona Café live review to start my morning, what a treat!! (Glad to see someone else compare the TT to the pancakes and pancakes win!)

"The Red Velvet cupcake was awesome. The filling of the fruit tart was very tasty but the crust was too hard to cut."

Jeannie said, "Dinner last night was just take out pizza from End Zone food court. Typical value resort pizza but a good value to feed 2-3 people for $14-$17 depending on toppings. It was ready in under 7 minutes.

"I got the Bounty Platter with all bacon, no sausage. Having breakfast by the baseball pool. Nice morning with a breeze in Florida! Food is good but I wish they would cook the bacon more!

So glad I found this thread! This looks quite fun, being a live food reporter. Our trip isn't until October and since I don't get to the World often enough to develop food faves I've scheduled us a bunch of places that seem to be solid favorites among the Dis community.

I'm curious, when do people send in updates for the most part? While waiting in line for an attraction, while still at the table, or once you're relaxing in your room?

Your updates can be sent whenever and wherever works best for you. I want the live reporting to be an easy and fun experience for our volunteers, so I leave the content (whether short or detailed) of the updates and frequency up to each reporter.

It totally sucks that I have to work my entire shift tomorrow & can't leave early...we will be in Orlando at about 730pm Friday night.

We will be making the most of our 1.5 days at Disney! At least we get to return next month for 5 days.

Maine Lobster with buttered chive mayo on a split top roll

"The lobster roll was delicious!! Loved it and recommend it."





...served with a side of Cucumber Salad.


"Refreshing!"






Mixed Greens Salad topped with apples, dried cranberries, and goat cheese, with a pomegranate vinaigrette

"I thought this was a side salad but it was an entree. The dressing was so bitter that it was inedible."





Then for dessert, Rachel got these...





Peanut Butter, Banana, and Candied Bacon Pie
& Salted Caramel Ganache


"The salted caramel was ok. Caramel had a weird taste. The peanut butter one was awful and basically had no flavor. Both had the same crust, which was awful. Hard and dry."


"Disappointing desserts and salad! To top it off I spilled dressing on me."




Then she and Corey crossed over to the other side of the lake to get Corey's lunch from...







"He had a cheeseburger & fries and a chocolate malt..."










"He said the burger was ok. We both decided we would only go back for dessert."

End Zone Food Court






Jeannie said, "We tried the bacon cheeseburger and hamburger with fries. These were cooked fresh in about 5 minutes. We got bottled drinks for the parks since we use our mugs at the resort and drinks are included in the QS meal plan. I had the oatmeal raisin cookie which was delicious! Allison had another brownie. We have been pleasantly surprised by the End Zone food court."
