Surprised the kids, wife, and my readers w/ a 2 week trip to AoA!(*NEW* 11-7)

Oh gosh, kids get sick, it happens! Evan has a very sensitive tummy and would sometimes throw up for no apparent reason, it was so frustrating!

Apple juice is pretty high in sugar, if Evan was at all worn down and drank too much too fast it could have made him get sick. Even if he wasn't worn down, or dehydrated. Sometimes we as parents over think those things too.

And yes, sometimes we ALL forget to make sure they drink enough fluids, or reapply sunscreen, or wear a hat. We all move on. Face it, Disney can wear out adults who get dehydrated, have sore or swollen feet or just feel off from eating too many treats too!

I'm a bit more ICK that the Main Street CM didn't clean it up at all since they were right there, wet street or not that surprises me.

yeah i think it might have been over thinking on our part of what did we do or didnt do, but in the long run it wasnt that bad whatever he had just made it a little bump in the road the next few days.

well in the mess by the ice cream shop, actually if you looked you really couldnt see it, so maybe that is why they didnt do anything, he only had one drink of the apple juice before it happened.

so i dont really blame the CM for not doing anything.:)
Poor Parker not feeling well in Disney is the Pits !!On 1 trip poor Samantha was sick most of the time , she had a fluey type cold . She refused to just stay and rest and most of the time she mad it but we had a few bad times !!We felt so bad for her !!!
that can really stink especially when it lasts that long.

even though you are in disney you dont want to just sit in your room the whole time.

Oh my word, Noelle is such a little cutie in this picture!

Oh that's awful that Parker got sick. I'm sure it wasn't due to anything you guys did or didn't do...that just happens sometimes. I hope he gets better, but from what you said, it sounds like you had to deal with it for a bit longer. Poor guy.

i need to get a more current pic of her, she is looking like a precious moment doll now.

yep it had lingering effects over the next few days

I feel so bad for Parker. It is awful to be sick on vacation. Especially, in the Magic Kingdom!

As a mother of two, I am just praying that it isn't a bug! When one of mine gets sick, the other is never far behind. I can understand feeling a little guilty if it is dehydration, but at least that is a easy fix. I really hope the rest of your vacation goes well! :worried:

yep we felt bad for the little guy as well.

its hard to keep the kids away from each other enough to not catch something from the other when they are sick.

Aw, poor little guy. Hoping you we're still able to enjoy yourselves. Your pictures are great.

And in other news, I am now off to find your stroller on amazon. I want a sit n stand and like the red. Lol

Poor Parker! We had a trip where most of us were just recovering from a stomach bug, and I was a little shaky the first day or two. But Haley got it about halfway through the trip - we ended up leaving MNSSHP early due to it. She bounced back much quicker than I did, however - hopefully Parker did the same for the most part! I know it's hard (trust me), but hopefully you and Candi didn't worry too much about what you could've done differently. Kids get sick no matter what we do!!

Poor Parker. :sad2: It sounds like it didn't turn out to be a major problem, but it's still no fun to be sick on vacation. Good thing you tried the bakery when it was the bakery. I looked at the Starbucks menu, and although I welcome some "real" coffee in the park, it looks like it lacks some of that ooey gooey goodness that people are used to. :goodvibes

we love that stroller, we looked at garage sales and on craigslist to find ours, then ended buying it from a friend who was selling.

i saw them anywhere from 20-75 bucks around us is what they were going for in different conditions.

good luck with it.

I've never been sick on vacation before... I can't imagine. I hope the rest of the trip wasn't spoiled.
nope the rest of the trip was not spoiled we still did many things, just put a little damper on the ending.

that stinks, i hate stomach bugs...

i know but you instantly think what did we do when it happens...

we did make the best of it and as you will see for the most part everything turned out fine.

except for a few minor bumps

i have heard it is changing over but didnt see what new items will be there, that cinnamon roll was great i hope they keep that.

I have yet to see the opening of MK. One day I will.
Too bad he got sick but glad he was feeling better.
Also he had to be sick to pass up on that breakfast. LOL

Whew...throughout the day I have read your entire report (so far). What a great family time :thumbsup2

Have to say this really helped me get more excited for our trip in 2 weeks! Thanks!:cheer2:

Hello from Tigers, Red Wings and Lions country ;-)! Awesome trip report, amazing pictures and a great looking family by the way! Reading through your report is making me miss Disney more and more and I LOVE the looks of AoA. Wondering if you could PM me the info on where you got your wife the Cinderella carriage necklace? This would be a nice little something for my DH and myself to do for our DD next time we visit the World.

You and Candi are too hard on yourselves. None of the things that you have reported on, minor melt downs and sick kids included are things that are out of the norm for all families with small kids.

It's so easy to forget (especially when the kids aren't complaining) to stay hydrated. It's something we all struggle with at Disney when there are so many interesting things to do and look at (i.e. distractions). Beyond that, it could have been a little stomach bug passing through which you would have no control over anyway.

Your kids are obviously loved and cared for and that's a win no matter how you look at it. :cheer2:

Just kidding :welcome: we love michigan, going there again soon for another camping trip.

we loved AoA it was a really fun resort to stay at.
i will PM you the necklace info shortly

thanks for the nice comments.

it is hard to remember to keep hydrating, as adults you are thirsty you drink, kids get excited and forget to drink

thanks again.:)

Chapter 59. And we are out of here.

After our visit to the nurse station

It was on to more adventure.

Parker was asking to ride the race cars so to the speedway it was.

He went with me while candi and Noelle hung out and waited for us.

the line was not long at all, so we moved fairly quickly he looks pretty pumped to be driving a car.

We snapped a picture of our girls on the stands ready to cheer us on.
DSC05537_zps76bd380b.jpg

parker was careful to not hit the middle rail.
DSC05539_zpsdb0d283a.jpg

that lasted until we actually got onto the track and you are not on the really wide rail in the station anymore, the ride was not for people who didnt want whip lash thats for sure.

i did manage to get a none blurry picture of the ride though.
DSC05540_zpsabb84a08.jpg

after the ride we met back up with the ladies and headed towards fantasy land

along the way we took pictures of these banners with the intention of blowing them up on a print when we got home, and 10 months later still have not done it.
DSC05543_zps80ed354b.jpg

but i do have to say they are cool pictures.
DSC05544_zps96fc273e.jpg

onto dumbo it was with noelle and me riding together and momma and parker in front of us.

noelle may try and contain her excitement a little bit
DSC07604_zpsf65da481.jpg

but in the end she isnt good enough to not smile while on dumbo.
DSC07605_zpsb158dea2.jpg

and i was very tempted to get this shirt while in the big top souvenir stand but passed on it.

DSC07609_zps2d80ce52.jpg

even though he had a few episodes that morning he said he was doing good and wanted to ride goofys barn stormer who were we to stop him, lets do it buddy.

we made it about this far on the ramp

DSC05548_zps1f4ae4e9.jpg

before he said he didnt want to ride and didnt feel good.

so off the ramp we went and candi took him to the bathroom while noelle and i waited around for them.

we looked at the new fastpass area that is now open for both goofy and dumbo.

DSC05552_zps9fb6928b.jpg

and 3 days after we left they opened up this section for character visits.
DSC05553_zps62b0b387.jpg

you may notice the bushes that are there to block the entrance, but that didnt stop me from putting my hand through the side and snapping a picture before anyone noticed.
DSC05554_zpsf6eed1b1.jpg

a little better shot of the sign.
DSC05555_zpsd4020940.jpg

while we waited some more for parker and candi we toured the big top souvenir tent that was just opened between when we visited the MK the week before to this week, i think it was 2 days before this current day when it opened if i remember correctly.

they have the neat themed areas of the store, like the cold stuff in the penguin car of the train.
DSC07611_zps0806eda6.jpg

and the middle food area.
DSC05558_zps0d0876bb.jpg

there pin trading "board" was really neat as well, i checked out all the pins but didnt find any that were a necessity for us.
DSC05562_zpsa3d4f827.jpg

when they came back from the bathroom he asked if we could leave the park,

we knew that he toughed it out the best he could, we let him make the call though, he asked to ride the other rides after the nurse station stop, and when he asked to go back to the room we knew he was running low on energy.

so without sad faces we left the park knowing that we would be back for another MK day in two days.

we were out of the park by 11:15

he was sitting in the back of the double stroller but said he wanted to lay his head down on me....so i ended up carrying him to the bus stop and while there we waited a little bit for a bus, and of course not feeling good he wanted to be held while waiting.

on the bus he sat facing me on my lap and layed his head down on me, he feel asleep pretty quickly before we even made it under the water tunnel past the contemporary.

when we got off the bus candi and noelle took off to the food court to get us lunch to eat back in the room while i carried parker back to the room...that boy is no light 4 1/2 year old let me tell you.

but we managed back to the room

when we got to the room we spotted someone in our window.
DSC05564_zps345f4c99.jpg

and on our bed was another surprise for us a boat paddling character adventure.
DSC05563_zpsd911cd0d.jpg

the CM housekeepers did a good job all week with the kids items.

about 10 minutes later candi and noelle came back which she told me was a feet onto itself, trying to push the stroller while balancing the tray on the back of the stroller, but super mom prevailed and was able to bring us our food back for lunch.

hope everyone has a great 4th of july weekend, next week i will share more on the adventures that we had the rest of the day and what me and noelle were up to while candi and parker rested in the room.

Poor Parker. At least he toughed it out for a little bit. I love the Storybook Circus. It was our favorite when we were there. I wish we would have spent more time there.

Poor Parker !!! To be sick at Disney should be illegal!!! I feel so bad for him !!! Great pix of the sneak preview and the posters !!!

Poor Parker, that's a rough morning. I am LOVING the towel canoe/rowboat, that is just so cool!

Good for him for being able to say he wanted to go back, a lot of kids wouldn't and make themselves feel worse. :thumbsup2

I did not connect the dots on the Penguin case. Clever, very clever!
