Jen- we, too, are spoiled. We have only stayed deluxe and one time CL. DH is the one who always wants to book the Grand and he never wants to know how much anything is ...I'm supposed to make it all work. We are going to the dvc open house tomorrow pm, it will be difficult for him because they will actually say a price!!

Hi Ladies....enjoying a glass of wine with DH and discussing things about our trip. Conclusions DH has come to:

A. I am a brat.
B. I am spoiled.
C. If I don't get my way, I will pout until I do.

I cannot argue anymore. It is all true. But the reality is this, I will not be getting my way with our Nov. trip. I will be holding onto the BC reservation until either an AP discount or GP room only offer comes out. I will then be switching to POR. Period. If it it not available, I will then be switching to ASM or POP 2 rooms. Double period.

I just knew in 2011 when we started off our onsite visits staying DELUXE it was going to be a problem. And it is. And doing CL this past trip did not help.

Okay, enough about that. Hope everyone is having a good night. Come chat with me!!!

Yes exactly. As much as he says do it on the cheap, he would love it if we could stay deluxe again. So, where are you guys planning on staying in August now? I can't keep up!

It was a little rainy this pm, so we took the monorail over to cr to talk to the dvc guy. We will
see what they say...the interesting part to us, is the other properties around the world.

I don't mind... you even mentioned the particular variety of nerd in your very post. He's a theorist. It's funny that you mention Kaku! My hubster's "brush with fame" came with the U.K.'s physics poster child, Brian Cox (kinda like their version of Michio Kaku). He hosts quite a bit of BBC science stuff, was in an episode of Doctor Who and various other geekster stuff. Basically, they love to roll him out when it's anything remotely physics/science related. Anywho, he and my hubs were the examiners together for a PhD student's thesis defense. I think I was more excited about it than he was. He refused to ask Brian Cox for an autograph for me.

Brian Cox is another hottie!! He's right up there with Kaku.

I'm going to attempt to catch up tomorrow. I had to go to work with the DH today and it got up to 101 F (and this was not a good Dalmation). I mainly had to go with him, because he followed me to drop off the minivan to get the brakes down. They were slow enough this morning that they were able to take them apart and tell us exactly what it was going to cost. The guy was like, "the rotors are fine, but we need to rebuilding the calipers on the front." Basically what I heard him saying was "blah blah record looking thingies are fine. blah blah I have to rebuild this big thingy that looks like a double hook over the record thingies, blah blah more money." All together, we're looking at about $520. Meanwhile I'm in stress mode, but the DH says we're fine as far as money goes.

This weekend is double experience point weekend in our online game, so we'll be doing that a lot. Then on Monday, we're going to celebrate our wedding anniversary by all four of us going to this small waterpark near our house called Hawaiian Falls. Since it closes at 6 PM, we may all go out to dinner together. If I have my way, we'll eat at Babe's Chicken. At the location we go to, you only have a choice of fried chicken (each person gets a breast, leg, thigh, and wing) or a huge chicken fried steak. Then you get all you can eat family style served mashed potatoes and cream gravy (which I swear I could drink), cream corn, salad (which the house dressing is slightly sweet), and homemade Buttermilk biscuits (which are exactly like my mom and grandmothers used to make). Then we'll go next door and get pie from my favorite pie lady.

I am super tired and rambling, so I wish each of you lovelies a good night.

Sue...how's the knee? Hopefully all better. You're trip is quickly approaching I always tell Bill to wake me if I'm still sleeping when he leaves....strange I know I just like getting up before the kids do and getting things done while they sleep.



Koh... I think you'll be fine at CBR. We've looked at those pirate rooms, too. The kids will probably love em'!!! Like Mouse said, it is spread out, so if you are prepared for that ahead of time, it won't be a shock. The pictures of their pool are awesome!!! Get lots of pics and share when you get back

Ladies, thank you for your congrats and encouragement for Sam! She is really getting into it...and I am SO thankful she has been getting in shape over the past year....My friend told me that the band director has this mini camp in June to "unofficially" show the kids what August will be like... he'd rather know now if this isn't the kids thing as the drill is being written now. I'm psyched for her!! I signed up to be a chaparone for trips.. heck I signed up to volunteer everywhere!



Awesome!! Suggestion, check out Michaels or AC Moore for a toy treasure chest for DS and DD and fill it with gold coins, and disney goodies, small toys, stickers, etc. Perhaps his last clue can be a treasure map that will lead him to his treasure...bury it or hide it in the yard....inside you can have a note from Jack Sparrow saying that in addition to his gold and other "trinkets' his final treasure awaits him when you all take your trip to Disney in XX days!!



So thankful she's feeling better Jen. I hate it when the kids get fevers.

Good morning everyone! So....I've changed a couple of things! Nothing too drastic. Oh this has been quite an adventure!..I talked things over with hubby, and we have cancelled the Wanyami Safari...which would have been close to $400 (yikes!) and instead went with WL CL. We just cannot control ourselves.... This is it. I am done...no, really! Done. So it all looks like this: WL CL July 5th-8th...AKL CL July 8th-11th, AKL Pool View July 11th-13th. Then home (sigh.) We leave in 8 days!

Both resorts are totally awesome!!!!! Can't go wrong!

So Bob found a cruise he wants to go on. TCM 5 day cruise out of Miami on the "Disney Magic" but we'd have to cancel the Poly trip, no way we could afford both right now.

Well, since he has glasses in hand....now he wants to do a cruise, huh?!

Bill would rather do a Disney Cruise than the World (don't let Bob read that ) Bill loves WDW, but a cruise for him is the best thing since sliced bread. That's a tough call, Shelia. What about the Poly first then the cruise next year?? Or cruise first then the Poly next year? I'm already speculating a Disney Cruise for 2015.

Willow, you'll love WL. As others have answered, CL has solid balconies. So to enjoy view you have to stand. But it's a great resort. Be sure you take the at our if the Lodge, ask at check in about flag family, and if possible take the FW Segway tour!!

Miss, puppy is doing well, I'll be happy when she's totally house trained, lol

To all asking about knee, starting physio Tuesday so hopefully it will aide my recovery.

My plans are still arrival day Pop, followed by 2 nights GF, and 12 nights YC. I had been toying with the idea of switching Pop for either AoA or POR royal room. But now with the declining canadian $ I may not!!

We are 98% sold on CR Atrium CL for next August!!!

Going through our list of criteria, it really meets it all! Poly would be our # 1 choice but the uncertainty about construction is making us go elsewhere.

Heather I have to read up on the cruse they do hold it every year but not sure if it is on the Disney ship every year or if they change plus I guess you watch old movies? Bob said something about old screen stars being on the cruise it leaves Dec 3 which is a month later than our trip this year and I do have credits and points towards flight but paying for the cruise too would be late in the game now.

I doubt I ever get Bob on a Disney cruise if it was not this TMC. He wants to do the Viking River Cruise in Europe too. Silly Man

Oh I know, Every time I start to worry about the DVC construction happening during my trip I go and price out other options but with no idea what fall discounts might be I know we can't do rack our discount through the TA is just ok plus with the discounted Tix we got thru the TA now that they have Gone up in price too tells me to stay put. I am so confused.

I want bob to love the Poly since he hated it years ago when we did the aloha dinner show but scared if there is construction every where he is going to hate it

DECLINING CDN $$!!!!!! Nooooooooo!!!!!! I've got 19 months to save still!!!! I need our $ near par!!!!! It's hard enough because I've been bit by the deluxe club level bug too, and my next trip was leaning towards BWI!!!! So our $$ needs to strengthen again, YES IT DOES!!!!!

DS's interview went well I think, we're waiting for a security clearance to be done and references checked/ could be a 5 day process or so -- with Canada Day long weekend, we might hear something next week. They did ask if he had a pair of work boots at the end of the interview, so that's a good sign, but we'll have to go shopping for work boots for him if the offer comes through. It'll be an adjustment working night shift (10-6:30 am) mon to Fri/ at least he doesn't have to work weekends. It'll work out till he can save enough for a car too because by the time he drives home, I don't leave for work until 7:30, so he can use our car for now. I am hoping he gets the job, he's 21 and had many struggles, but it's time to start testing the world on his own a little. I'll still be here to support him but I need him to start testing life's waters and trying to find his way. It's so hard when they are not academically gifted and don't know what they want to do! I hope things work out for him because I worry so much. I am so thankful my youngest - my 17 yo- has firm plans to join the military after HS next year! He's a bit more of a go-getter and knows what he wants. I thought younger yrs where hard??? Nothing compared to this time of their life!
Praying it all works out so DH and I can finally start enjoying some of our hard earned money again, lol!!!
