:confused3 Did you say there are open balconies or no open balconies? Thank you! And I really, really..think I am done! :goodvibes

Jeanette...Sorry you've had a tough week!!

Thanks Sue  No open balconies on CL floor, other floor have open balconies :)

Heather Bob picked up his glasses and can see again :)

Janet So nice to hear Sam is spreading her wings :goodvibes a friend of mine chaperoned a Band trip to Paris who knows what good things may come from volunteering :)

I'm here friends :grouphug: Lots of work drama :furious: and let's just say I've had a pretty bad week. I really miss everyone, but I really am not in a good place to catch up...YET :goodvibes

Jeanette Sounds like you are in dire need of that vacation in 21 Days

So Bob found a cruise he wants to go on. TCM 5 day cruise out of Miami on the "Disney Magic" but we'd have to cancel the Poly trip, no way we could afford both right now. :(

Really want to see World War Z but My step son is here from Nashville until July 9th & DH only sees him during his time in the summer so we went to see Monsters University instead..
The boys want to see WWZ, I can take the little ones to MU !! However, Ihave NO time off...ugh
Hi Krystal! Love your scavenger hunt idea! I was thinking of adding something like this to our big reveal next time
I LOVE that pic!!Too bad I can't keep a surprise

On a side note, I booked our room reservation today. I wasn't going to book until tomorrow because that is when I would be able to do the one night deposit for 2 deluxe rooms. But, long story short, I totally changed my mind and booked a LK suite at AoA instead of 2 deluxe rooms. I am saving $400 that way, and I realized I had lost focus. The type of room isn't that important to me. It is getting to take the kids to MNSSHP and the fun we will have. That is what's important to me. Plus, it doesn't hurt that $400 is a start of our September 2014 fund.

Even though I am set on my LK choice, I would like to stick around because 2014 is way up in the air
Those rooms are AWESOME. Stick around, there is NO reason to leave...even if there is no current changes, once you join us..YOU'RE FAMILY!

1.Split stay questions
I finally convinced the DH that with us getting in at midnight and leaving by 10 AM the next morning it was a waste to spend close to $250 (once you add in taxes) for a stay at the Swan. He opted for the Pop Century instead. Since we have never done a split stay, how does it work with getting them to transport your luggage? Do we just call bell services the morning we are checking out of the Pop, they will come and get it and then it will magically appear later in our AKL room? Do I need to allow time for bell services to come and pick up the luggage? In other words, we need to stay with the room until they do pick it up and I need to make sure to allow enough time that we are out of the room by the 11 AM check out? Then do we stop by the Pop front desk before heading off to the AKL? Finally do you think it would be ok to just leave the minivan overnight in that front parking lot (where you park when you check in) since we'll be getting in close (or after midnight) and checking out before 10?
I would leave it in the van. At Poly Bell services was FAST! But elsewhere, it was hours before our luggage arrived.
Been running around like a headless chicken all morning. Gardening all this past weekend (of the flower variety instead of vegetable). Kiddo has a rash all over her arms and legs -- warm to the touch. We think it's from some Off! mosquito repellant we used on her. It looks like sunburn but only on the spots I sprayed her with the bug spray. So, up to rinse her off (again) with some Cetaphil and slather on some Caladryl lotion... and a dose of Benadryl tonight before bedtime. She's feeling fine... it just itches like crazy so I'm constantly having to tell her to leave it alone.
Hope she's better!

So I just got chastised for buying what DH called junk - 2 pool noodles, goggles for DS, and penguin travel pillow for DS since he's obsessed with penguins...definitely not the time to mention the pirate themed things I've been collecting for the reveal...
Yeah, I may have spent a bunch on sandals for the girls...all necessary of course

Queen of Split Stay here ....
:thumbsup2

UGH!! I lost all my multiquotes and I am still so far behind......
:wave2:

Looks like your DH and I learned the same lesson. Tell him not to dial 800 instead of 407 when calling the WDTC
:rotfl:

Well, I've offficially lost my mind...just changed BACk to Beach Club! The Grand /monorail resorts were calling my name, but so was club level. GF club was a bit more than I wanted to bite off, Poly and Contemporary sold out. I know we will love Beach Club though. I've been following that thread for months and I've learned so much from those great folks
Leaving in TWO days!!! Checking into POR for the night on Thursday and into BC on Friday! Can't wait!
Enjoy!!!!!!:cool1:

That had to have been even more of a shock than him trying to call a customer. It really scare him, when the male officer started talking. Luckily, they both believed that he had dialed the wrong number, otherwise, they said they could have arrested him. Which would have been really bad, considering the work phones are in my mil's name.
Oh my my my Glad the officrs realized it was a mistake YIKES

Hi!!!! Just checking in - I have to go back and read all the pages I missed! Looks like a lot!

Work is just...well, it's nothing I can say on a family board, let's say that. i will try to catch up soon! And report on all my resort changing!
:wave2: Hurry and report!!!popcorn:: Or did I miss it???

I am soooo MIA these days, sorry,
Melissa
Miss you Melissa:hug:

Hi ladies....sorry I have been MIA too. My heart just hasn't been in it lately, not sure why. But I am here now!
.
Jen
I totally understand  Did DD make it to the last day of school?

Welcome back Lulu'sMom .. hoping you had a wonderful, magical vacation!!

_______Waiting on an awesome review from her!!!!________________________

Oh, news from me... my Sam joined the marching band.We are thrilled!! A great connection going over to the high school! The music program is highly regarded, and I know she will make some great friends.
Sam is AWESOME!!!!

Wilderness Lodge....I saw it, I had to have it.
Way cool!!!! :dance3:

Hey all- we are having a "grand" time. Yesterday am went to AK- did Everest (2x), Kali (2x) , dinosaur and primeval whirl ...started at 9 and back in the room by 12:30!!! Met up with our band director and his wife at MK around 8 and had a blast until 11:30- big thunder (2x) splash, castle show, wishes and haunted mansion.

Off to the studios today
Thanks for popping in!!! Say hi to Sarah!! I just know she stops by our GF all the time  Enjoy!!!

Quick update on DH (it's his bday today and we're taking him to Red Robin (A CDN burger joint) for dinner -- yeah! No cooking!!! -- tomorrow is date night at the VIP theatre to see The Heat)

Dr apt was a mixed bag still. He is finally given the go ahead to begin more aggressive Physio to see if he can get movement in the top joint of his pinky. If after 2 months/ end summer it's still not moving or contributing to function of his other three working fingers, he'll have to make a choice if its really worth keeping if it is hindering function of the other three. He's grown quite attached to his little/ smaller hand, so that would be a big dissapointment to lose baby finger too. The surgeon said though in his opinion if the baby finger has no movement still, it's just going to suck from his three good fingers, and he'll have better function with three fingers than 3 and a tag along finger that's not offering any function to his overall hand use.
So it's a waiting game and Physio all summer to see what kind of movement / if any he can obtain in his baby finger. Next Visit is Aug 28th. We should have a little better idea by then what he's looking at for going forward to meet his goal of going back as a Sheriff/ if he can. That's the hope though.

DH and I are in need of a holiday!!!

DS 21 FINALLY has his interview for his first job at Home Depot ( CDN hardware store) today! He's applied for a night shift position M-F 10pm-6:30am
On the freight team -- offloading/ stocking etc. I am so hoping he gets it because he needs to get his life started somehow - he needs it for experience- he needs it as a stepping stone for whatever he's going to do next ( which at the moment is kind of unknown , but leaning towards the possibility of becoming an electrician) -- he needs it for his sanity and self esteem! He just needs something to feel good about and to work and have his own savings and sense of accomplishment -- oh how I hope he's successful and gets offered the position! I have a feeling if he fails at this, his self esteem might be crushed and he may just go into a slump please pixie dust for my boy!!!!

Hope all is well with all my loving RCer family
 Happy belated birthday to DH!! And I hope DS did well on his interview! Red Robin YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. DH and I eat there when we actually have an opportunity to dine out:rotfl: Continued :wizard: for DH's hand!!!

Only news I've got to share...

Hubbo was at home yesterday. (He needed to work from home because everyone at his work was bugging him and he has to work on his talk for a conference he's attending this weekend. Mind you, working with Miss M and myself hanging around is infinitely MORE difficult than colleagues bugging you all day.) I heard him go upstairs into the office and let loose with a phrase I can't share here. :rolleyes1 He comes running back downstairs and tells me to check my email. The email in question was a letter from the director of the lab. Very short and sweet but the hubster was given a promotion, effective immediately. :faint: He's never been a "toot his own horn" type, so this sort of thing means a lot to him beyond the obvious as it requires multiple written recommendations from respected members of his field on top of review-by-committee before it can go ahead -- and it was all done without him knowing. So proud of that nerd.
AWESOME NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:yay:

Calling all RCers: For those that frequent the OTHER cross-town resort, would you be so kind as to give me Universal Resort help????? Do any of you like RPR? If so, why? And if you like another Resort better, which one? Any help at all is much appreciated. I am thinking of scrapping my Poly CL for July and taking DB to Universal. Thanks. :goodvibes
LOVE ALL the resorts. RPR is MUCH like Poly! A tropical laid back quiet place...BTW Club level there is pretty darn reasonable. The beds are AMAZING the most comfy! The Portofino had a recent refurb, and is also lovely. Hard Rock was cool, but we preferred RPR. You can pool hop, and take a boat or walk to the parks. You'll have a blast. Don't forget the Express Passes for the rides!!
It just was not for us. Too big and spread out, especially with small kids. The multiple bus stops internally really took their toll (and we don't mind the buses). We did not like the food court at all, and we did have some mousekeeping (or maintenance?) issues.....whoever is supposed to take care of mold did NOT do their job!

Can't comment on the pool as we were there in Feb and it was too cold to use it but it looked nice. Again, the resort was just not for us and we would choose a value over CBR any day, but a lot of people love it!

Sorry, just being honest. :duck:
Candace, I could've wrote this review..this was exactly our CBR experiences (add a zillion cheer teams as well)

I can't sleep in either, now that school is over I'd like to, but just can't seem to :worried: why did he wake you????
My kids have been up at 6am every morning...:scared1:

Pas.....Where are you????? :sail: Are you lost at sea??! Hope all is well and you're not working too hard. Don't you have a trip coming up very quickly??
Thing have been difficult..but life can only get better right

So Bob found a cruise he wants to go on. TCM 5 day cruise out of Miami on the "Disney Magic" but we'd have to cancel the Poly trip, no way we could afford both right now. :(

NO cruise...Poly first..then cruise, hey wait. A compromise GF this trip, and 2014 cruise!

Happy Friday to all of you... :grouphug: Got actual quotes interspersed with the bolded names of the quotes I accidentally deleted... :rolleyes2

Miss bob and I both fell in love with BWI :goodvibes In all honesty I keep thinking of changing my Poly Reservation to BWI that is how much we love it there.

Ah, music to my ears! I'm a bit nervous about being "across the lake" from my beloved but the pictures look lovely and I've heard nothing but good things. We were able to walk through the lobby when they still had their Christmas decor up in January. It sure is pretty inside. :goodvibes

Jen: What happened with all that potential RCing yesterday? popcorn::

Miss, wookie, and Koh1977: Hey! My SIL/BIL were part founders of Giordano's. Tasty stuff. They got out years ago. Needless to say, they are the "rich ones" of the family. My other SIL still works at HQ. She used to send us free coupons til that nasty bankruptcy thing. It was real estate caused, not tasty pizza caused.

Don't tell on me or I might get kicked out of the midwest... I'm not a fan of deep dish Chicago-style. :duck: (Grew up on the thin NY-style.) Now, I'd definitely try their thin crust if they had it!

Your Universal scheming has me all popcorn::

We have had nothing but rain for days, my DH isn't a happy camper with his golf and softball games all canceled

I've booked BBs and changed them months after. Matter of fact we changed our 2 days POFQ bb, to 1 day at Pop, arriving then added GF ( not on BB I got a better deal). Now thinking of cha cha changing Pop to AoA Mermaid room, or POR Royal room, thanks to Heathers great pics  ugh.

Supposed to start warming up here for This weekend! I hope so, I have 9 for a BBQ Saturday, and hope to dine on the patio! Happy Canada Day!

How're you feeling?! How's the pupster doing? Hope the rain eases for you guys up there. There's certainly been far too much of it this year... our yard's a swamp. (And our backyard neighbor had their sprinkler on yesterday?! :confused3 We've only been having torrential downpours every other day. ) Enjoy the BBQ and the sunny weather... thinking positive for ya!

Koh: $1000 difference? OUCH! That's crazy talk!

Just wanted to pop in and wish all you lovelies a good night. Hopefully, I can get to sleep before 4 AM, since I am going to work tomorrow with the DH. He and I are dropping the minivan off to get the brakes done. Hopefully, they won't have to do anything extra and it will only cost the base price they quoted us, which was $189 for all 4 brakes.

Sending "cheap-brake" thoughts your way. :thumbsup2

Day One: (of the staycation) Kindergarten Graduation!!!!

Awwww! She looks so cute in her graduation outfit. :lovestruc How were those celebratory Yuenglings?

Janet: You're such a good momma... good for you on chaperoning and volunteering. You AND Sam rock! :worship:

Off to take hubby his laptop. He left it sitting in the den

Did you change the password and desktop background first? :stir: :lmao: Lovely pic of my favorite pool! :worship:

I'm here friends Lots of work drama and let's just say I've had a pretty bad week. I really miss everyone, but I really am not in a good place to catch up...YET

I hope your week gets better. When are you due for some time away from the looney bin?

NO cruise...Poly first..then cruise, hey wait. A compromise GF this trip, and 2014 cruise!

Totally agree! Yep, Sheila... tell Bob, "It's Poly or Bust!"

Willow: You're done. YEP, no more changes! Step AWAY from the phone and/or computer!

~~============================~~

Congrates on DH Promotion!

Congrats to your DH!!

Miss congrats on hubby's promotion!!! That's great!!!

That's wonderful news, congrats to your husband

Miss....and one big banana dance for your hubby!!!!!! Awesome news for your family

Miss, CONGRATS TO DH ON HIS PROMOTION! or do I say "jolly good"

T
AWESOME NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks so much, ladies... much appreciated for the congratulations. :grouphug:

I hope your week gets better. When are you due for some time away from the looney bin?

I was off last night. We had waffles and bacon for dinner...I had wine, and kids had ice cream  I have NO clue my next night off..I know July 18th at 6pm I am DONE :cool2:

LOVE ALL the resorts. RPR is MUCH like Poly! A tropical laid back quiet place...BTW Club level there is pretty darn reasonable. The beds are AMAZING the most comfy! The Portofino had a recent refurb, and is also lovely. Hard Rock was cool, but we preferred RPR. You can pool hop, and take a boat or walk to the parks. You'll have a blast. Thanks pas130 for your help. We'll be at Univ or WDW at the same time as you. :goodvibes OMG I am like a kid in a candy store on that Univ website. :surfweb: I started out my planning so innocently using Marriott points offsite, but it is actually MUCH cheaper to stay ONSITE with a RPR Package (go figure, but ). So far I have:
  • RPR (either Club or the King suite, same price)
  • Univ only Tix with Express Pass (no IoA this time, no time)
  • Cinematic Spectacular movie combo w/meal at Lombards (my DB will love that)
  • Meal/Mini Golf package (I am the mini golf sucker)
The packages will almost act as a dining plan and will allow DB order whatever he wants without being so buzzkill budget conscious. And either way we go we need tix since we are on a FL resident blackout time. For 3 adults the total price isn't coming in toooo bad... :rolleyes1 Should this thing at Univ not pan out, we'll still do WDW. Still holding the Poly CL for now but DH suggested GF for my DB since he's never experienced it. I also have WL in the running. I may have to chomp my own popcorn for this one. popcorn::

Also, I am sorry you are having a difficult week. I hope it gets much better for you. :hippie: Things here have been very sad and stressful lately with mom and dad.

Don't tell on me or I might get kicked out of the midwest... I'm not a fan of deep dish Chicago-style. :duck: (Grew up on the thin NY-style.) Now, I'd definitely try their thin crust if they had it!

Miss, first belated congratulations on DH's promotion. Very cool for you. :thumbsup2 I skipped about 20 pages trying to keep current.

Next, HOW AWESOME is that pic of DD at the StarWars thingie!!!!! OMG I hope you don't mind but I keep it up on screen since lately I need a good hearty laugh pretty often. It is the funniest thing I've seen in a long time. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Next, yep... we all like the thin Chicago pizza too. :thumbsup2 Ssssshhhh. DH's whole clan does the thin, too. Maybe once a a year we do deep dish. Giordano's also has thin crust, but they keep it on the down-low :smokin:

So Bob found a cruise he wants to go on. TCM 5 day cruise out of Miami on the "Disney Magic" but we'd have to cancel the Poly trip, no way we could afford both right now. :(
I agree 110% with pas130... first POLY :stitch:, then cruise :boat:.

I hope to have a little more time soon to get back here more often. :worried:
Have a great weekend all! :)

Jen: What happened with all that potential RCing yesterday? popcorn::

Miss: Nothing yet! :bitelip: I am so torn here. DH okayed a May 2014 trip this morning and that means balance is key! Wah....deluxes call me. :worried:

I was off last night. We had waffles and bacon for dinner...I had wine, and kids had ice cream  I have NO clue my next night off..I know July 18th at 6pm I am DONE :cool2:

Pas: Wine for dinner....been there!;) It sounds like your vacation is so needed. I hope it recharges you. BTW what a multiquote!! :worship:

Magic: No kidding that was seriously the best picture ever!!

Candace: Congrats to your DD on the last day of kindergarden! That is a milestone for sure.

Willows: Congrats on WL!! I bet you will love it there!

Sheila: Ooohh cruise or WDW?? What a hard decision. We should be picking one or the other too.:rolleyes1

So even though I am stuck in this resort limbo for November I am super excited because in 25 days DH are flying into Boston for our trip away!! Maybe I should make myself a new ticker!! :dance3:

Jen

Hi friends!!!! I will miss a ton with this - I have been reading. Trying to comment from memory:

Miss E - congrats to DH - how awesome!

Janet - woohooo for DD! That is so exciting. My soon to be High School DD is starting to make friends at her new school through dance team and I am thrilled. She wasn't going to know many people.

Marie - crossing fingers for DH! I hope he gets all the feeling and movement back.

Candace - congrats on graduation for DD!

Jenny - I would definitely sacrifice deluxe to get two trips in. Especially since you have the cruise first for this trip. Maybe if you do value or mod this year, you can do deluxe in May???

Pas - hope your day is better today! We might have bacon and waffles tonight- that sounds delish!

Sheila - I vote cruise!!!!!!!!

Hi to Linda, Magic, Christine, Willow, Koh, Wookie, Ginny, Heather, Dani, Luv, I heart, Sue, DetTigsGirl, and everyone else!!!

Linda sounds like your US plans are coming together nicely:thumbsup2

Little rainy right now, sitting on the balcony waiting to go to Narcossee's with the husband. The boys went golfing this am and I hung out at the pool. Ran- ok monorailed- over to MK to buy some stuff with the 20 percent off before 1pm coupon and had lunch at the Bakery- Starbucks.

Janet- we are along looking for volunteers, you can come hang out in New Milford

Would it be worth a room only night at CR (deluxe garden wing) or Poly CL, or BLT 1BR villa? (At the end of our trip)

Hi Ladies....enjoying a glass of wine with DH and discussing things about our trip. ;) Conclusions DH has come to:

A. I am a brat.:confused3
B. I am spoiled.
C. If I don't get my way, I will pout until I do. :rolleyes1

I cannot argue anymore. It is all true.:headache: But the reality is this, I will not be getting my way with our Nov. trip. I will be holding onto the BC reservation until either an AP discount or GP room only offer comes out. I will then be switching to POR. Period. If it it not available, I will then be switching to ASM or POP 2 rooms. Double period.

I just knew in 2011 when we started off our onsite visits staying DELUXE it was going to be a problem. And it is. And doing CL this past trip did not help. :cloud9:

Okay, enough about that. Hope everyone is having a good night. Come chat with me!!!:surfweb:
