So no discounts for July 5th and 6th at resorts?

I cannot believe they want almost 400 for a Value resort for 2 nights. I have looked everywhere. Guess it's not worth going on a holiday weekend, ever. lol. September is cheaper...and cooler. So, I guess we wait. Oh well.

Take care.

It IS peak season, a weekend (Fri/Sat rates are usually higher), and a holiday. Demand is high. You won't find many discounts with all those strikes against that time period.

Disney only discounts resorts/room types that aren't booking up. If they can fill the rooms at full price, they won't offer a discount.

There are no discounts if you book now. Those dates were included in the Disney World Summer Savings Promotion that covered June 13 to August 14, 2013. The book by date was June 14, 2013. We considered traveling over that period of time and those dates were included.

Since you're asking about a room for next week any offers that might have been available have expired. This close to your vacation date, you're generally looking at rack rates.

July 4th and the days before and after are usually excluded from any discounts. Just like Thanksgiving weekend.

If I go during those times (and I'll be there next weekend), I just stay offsite.

President's Weekend and Easter are usually not discounted either. But Memorial Day and Labor Day can be and usually are.

OP -- have you tried calling Disney to see if there is any deal they can give? Even AAA discount can be pretty good. That week was not blacked out from deals -- we got a great room-only deal, then switched it to the AP deal because it was better. And I switched our resort 2x and there was lots of availability. I think those deals expired by now, but maybe you can still snag a AAA discount....?

I will be on property four nights including July 4th, and booked at a discounted rate, but I booked quite a while ago. Most of the codes for that period expired already.

It's always a good idea to plan ahead if you want to spend a holiday weekend at Disney.
