Free Dining Extension ~ Oct-Dec

Ok, I recall some of the individuals who were given free dining without a PIN attached to their name, stating they were transferred to someone else who issued the free dining. And I believe one person specifically said Guest Services; maybe it's someone in that dept who is authorized to issue FD?? Maybe it's a matter of finding the right CM who knows about this AND one that is willing to transfer the call??? A matter of finding the "perfect storm" of CMs??? A rare occurrence.
 
Sorry this is a little off topic! I received an e-mail from my TA yesterday to say she would be out of the office from 6/28 to 7/15 and would have very limited access to e-mail. So my question is if FD is released at this time can I call and add it to my reservations or does she have to because she made them? :confused3 I'm just scared that if I have to wait for her to get back FD will be all booked up at our hotel. We are staying at AOA and the kids have looked at pics and watched tour videos so this is going to be where we stay but it would be hard to know we are paying for the dining plan when we could have gotten it for free. Thanks for letting me whine a bit! :rotfl:

I'm not sure. She put me on hold and when she came back on the phone she told me that she found a fd discount for my time frame, 10/26-11/2, and she applied it.

Unfortunately your TA has to do it. If I were in that situation and it did come out I would have to rebook on my own and cancel with my TA. But right now I am not even feeling it will go public and if it does my bet is on August.

I didn't get transferred to anyone. The cm who answered the phone applied the fd discount.
 
Yep! I called with a co-workers pin....I had none, neither did my husband or 2 kids...I tried it all! After having a CM say that she was going to apply my co-workers pin (on work phone) IF I could fax the email showing co-worker and my email addresses are same company.....DH calls on cell and said give me the # I'm sick of this BS. We go every year and most recently did a 15 year vow renewal THRU Disney. He texted me about 15 mins. later "GOT IT!"

He was on the phone and told no by the 1st CM and then he wouldn't take no for an answer, his call wasn't transferred to her supervisor, he was transferred to an upper mgmt type who said, yes we will do whatever possible.....so to answer, NO Pins ever for us and no GP offer, but have FD for free.

The lady who helped did give us her direct dial number and her first.lastname@......... email address and told us not to hesitate calling or emailing if we needed anything else.

Awwww. Yes your TA has to apply the free dining. I would definitely contact her ASAP to ask if she or another agent would call about the FD if it were to become available during her absence.

Sorry if I missed this on an earlier post but when are you going to Disney? I'm going in August and have been trying so hard to get that pin.
 
I called from my office phone at the car dealership where I work everyday for a month and got nothing. The first call I made from my cell phone got me free dining. I about fell out of my chair ,but I got it with no pin. Use a phone that will bring up your account and be real sweet.

When my DH called and got FD for us without a PIN (10/18 thru 10/26) we already had a package booked and paid for and DME scheduled. Perhaps that's why we got it? Who knows....

does anyone know if I was to call about the free dining if they would give it to me over the phone since I have a TA would they still be able to apply it
 
I was probably the one that you remembered saying was transferred to guest services. I got a man and he also gave me his direct line...which I did need to call back as we were playing phone tag. And, it really was HIS direct line. So, the regular CM's more than likely can't just give it, but there are some uppers somewhere that can. I suggest everyone keep trying. Not wanting to make waves, but the rooms are out there. And, he also told me that he would not count on more general public offers. His word may be a bit more valuable? Not sure? Maybe they will just keep doing these random acts of kindness to fill the free dining quota? When you call for availability there does not seem to be a whole lot left as of right now at least. I don't know if that is normal or not? But, it is not just hanging out in my info.

when you called what did you say? did you just ask if theycould apply FD or ask if you had a pin first
 
I asked if I had a pin, if my husband had a pin, if our address had a pin. Nope. So, she asked if we ever travelled with anyone else. I said yes...my dad. She asked for his name and address. I gave it. She said well he has one and can use it for you too. I said thought they were non-transferrable. She said yes that she thought he was travelling with us again. No such luck. Then, I told her politely how frustrating it is to see some that have no plans or others who go once in a blue moon to get pins. She said how it is random. I said I know and was not blaming her or asking for any hand-outs, just venting. She asked me to hold. When she came back on, said that she was transferring me to guest services. When I got there, they asked me about my previous trips...like how many and just the normal survey types. Then, he said he would go ahead and apply free dining to my res. But, it was not avail for my room I was currently booked in (POR preferred). There were Royal Rooms, but not preferred. Anyway, he let me choose something else from what was available. The availability was fairly low as a warning...but we are 5 people so we are slightly limited.

I honestly don't know if I did or not. I called and asked if I had a PIN attached to my acct. The cm was great and said let me look. She got back on and said she found a fd discount for my time frame and applied it.....but when I called the week before to check I had nothing.
