You are correct that a room with only unaccompanied minors staying in it should guarantee you a connecting room, yes.

However you can only have two rooms connecting, you do know that don't you? Not sure how you're going to fit ten people into two rooms (unless two of them are under 3 years old, or is this is a POR booking?). It's going to be fun anyway!

Yes we are booked at POR. They have one room under me and one under my husband as they won't allow you to book a room with unaccompanied minors (ruling out three room options anywhere and limiting us to por or some if the deluxes). Theoretically we could split up but that would really make things difficult for us (some if the kids have special needs) and not much of a vacation. We will be happy with whatever we get as long as there are connecting rooms!!!

One thing to consider when requesting the corner rooms is getting a room with the extra window. We stayed at POFQ last year and requested and got the corner room without any problems. However, while we were there, we noticed that there were rooms on the corners with extra windows in them, and getting one of those would have been even better.

Are you saying that some of the corner rooms DO NOT have the double windows? I guess I just assumed all the corner ones would?

Nope, we requested corner... Got and inside corner, inside stairs area.... One window ....

So all corners don't necessarily have 2 windows !!

Well I don't know about most people but I personally don't want to have people coming down a stair looking in my room as they continue.

Just wanted to report my results on the fax I sent over. We checked in on May 31st and we just got back a few days ago. I sent my fax about 7-10 days in advance. I used the fax template, but changed some wording and changed it for my information. I requested a specific building and even a couple of specific rooms that I had chosen from the room chart on portorleans.org (Thanks Andre!). I never got an email or a phone call so I wasn't sure what would happen. We ended up getting one of the exact rooms that I had specifically requested! So, yes, the fax does indeed work and you may or may not get an email or phone call letting you know that your requests had been met.

I've got to say, after 49 trips to WDW, almost all deluxe, wife and I stepped down to a moderate.... Especially POFQ, and thru the years never faxed anything to WDW... We have on rare occasions had a mention on our reservation..

I've read for years that faxes are just thrown away anymore, but POFQ still looks and tries to honor them....

Last trip we faxed them, asked for building 5, any floor but bottom and a corner room... Got to say, CM 's did a fantastic job, honored and acknowledged all requests ... Kudos to Andre and the whole POFQ team... You make an old man very happy when he visits your world !

I will be staying at fort Lauderdale 10 days prior to my arrival date, should I just fax my request befor leaving home? I know there is no fax, but not shure if there will be a computer i will be able to use to send fax.
Will faxing more that 10 days in advance be useless?

Your fax might be kept on file until they are ready to allocate your dates, but what have you got to lose? You can always explain in your fax that you are staying offsite for a while before you arrive.

7-10 days is the acceptable time frame.

Ok I will send the fax just bedore leaving then, maybe i could do it on my smartphone at the airport? That way i'll try to get as closer to my check in date as possible and YUL airport has free wifi.

Thank you Venom for the fax template! I changed up the wording a little bit but the information was most helpful. We faxed in our requests yesterday which was the 5 day mark to our arrival at POR! We have a preferred room booked and hoping for building 18 on the 2nd floor! Fingers crossed!
