Western Caribbean from Miami, when does the time chage?

While thinking about our upcoming sailing for a 5 night to Cozumel and CC...I was wondering when they change the clocks on the ship? Does it happen over night, or during the day?

It will happen as soon as your cross the time zone they will recognize the time change. The sad is for when you go back over the time zone.

We did this cruise in April. The ship never changed time zone during the cruise. We stayed on Eastern Standard Time, I don't believe it caused anyone to miss the ship!

I understand that. I was looking for when does that actually happen? Leaving from Miami (EST) We will cross into Central time at some point on Monday...so does that happen over night, mid-morning etc...???

But where were you cruising out of? that makes a difference. I have read on here the time does change.

If you are doing a western out of Galveston, it might not change. If you did an Eastern out of PC, it might not change.

we are doing Western out of Miami.

So I guess the closest to it would be for those who have done the 7 night Western out of PC.

We were on a Western Caribbean out of Miami in January. The ship never changed time - we remained on Eastern time the entire cruise. They warned us in ports to be careful to use your watch and keep it on "ship time". If you used your phone, it might automatically update to local time, and you wouldn't have the right time for all aboard.

When the ship does change time, it is overnight. You'll get a card in your stateroom reminding you to turn your clocks forward or back when you go to bed. The time change will also be announced in the Navigator.

Same here. Also in April!

FWIW, we were on the Wonder out of Miami. It was a 5-nighter.
