Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party Information

We went last night, June 15 and here is my review:

Our table was fine, a great view of the fireworks. Here is what I did not like:
- it was unorganized and in need of crowd control by the CMs
- We had to wait in line so everyone went in at the same time which meant everyone headed to the desserts at the same time, another line
- it was a free for all with people taking four plates of desserts
- they ran out of silverware and bowls
- they refilled the trays but not for long, you basically got one shot at the line before most of the food ran out
- it well like a free for all at feeding time.
- I think people were trying to get their money's worth


It was a good concept and something different to do but it would have been better if they staggered the people coming in kept the food there throughout the party and not for only 15 minutes or so. No one was directing people at the buffet and it seemed like the CMs did not know what they were doing. I think they should get rid of the ice cream area as it was congesting the lines. my advice is to get there a little early and be first in line as we were one of the last people in which may have been our problem.

I agree that the staggering of ADR times is misleading. Unless a guest had been to the party before, or had researched it on discussion boards such as this, they would arrive at the party "late" if they arrived at their assigned time.

We have been to the party four times.

Do they replenish desserts? Yes, constantly, each time we have been there. Last time, we sat right beside the buffet tables, and we saw how hard the cm's worked. They kept putting out huge quantities of desserts at a quick pace. We also got to see how the guests behaved. Some grabbed desserts with a eagerness and speed that suggested that they hadn't eaten all week.

I have never seen them run out of desserts. But, some types of desserts do run out. I watched them put out several trays of crème brulee but they were gone pretty quickly, then there was no more crème brulee. Eventually, there were more cupcakes than anything else. So, the buffet was never empty, but the variety decreases.

I would agree with this but it seemed liked we were all waiting in line that was not moving and we were all let in at the same time

I was there on the 15th as well and couldn't agree more. The dessert area was chaos. The area was way too small and the flow was completely disorganized. They should really figure out a way to replenish the items from behind the line instead of walking through the throng of ppl waiting in line.

I was also disappointed in how quickly people stated lining up along the railing. Previous times we have gone we were able to watch the castle projection show from our seat then move to the railing for the fireworks.

Does anyone know the latest date that they are taking reservations through right now? I went back a few pages and saw that someone got August 22, but I wasn't sure if they had opened up September or October yet.

I wouln't say it's too loud.... perhaps the average of 200 people talking in a room. The music isn't blairing either.

I have a quick question if anyone can help me. We're celebrating our honeymoon at Disney in September. There's only one night we can do the fireworks party because our other night at Magic Kingdom they're doing Hallowishes.

Wishes is at 9 on the night we are planning to go to the fireworks party. We have an ADR at Tony's at 7:20. I figure we'll be done eating around 8:00 or 8:20. Does that leave us enough time to make it to the fireworks show? Should we pick one or the other? Does anyone know how far away Tomorrowland Terrace is from Tony's? I really want to experience both but I'm scared we'll be cutting it too close if we do both.

You should definitely be able to make it over from Tony's in time for Wishes, but remember that Celebrate The Magic is on at 8:45pm too, if you want to get there in time for that. The hour before Wishes is mostly just for everyone to eat the desserts, but it doesn't sound like you'll be doing much of that having just come from dinner? When I went to the Dessert Party I'd had dinner around 6:30pm and I still didn't feel hungry enough for all the desserts they had.

Its a projection show on the front of the castle, with Disney music, clips etc, definitely don't miss it! It starts about 15mins before Wishes and its so cool to see the whole castle lit up. I think a mid-afternoon reservation sounds like your best bet, they have SO many cool desserts that you want to have room to eat them all and its unlimited so most people go up to the buffet 2-3 times for refills.

Sidenote - I typed my last message while in bed last night and then I dreamed I was at the dessert party

I say it can be done, but you'll really be cutting it close in time. Before "Celebrate the Magic", you have the parade too...and walking from Tony's to the Dessert Party will take a longer time than normal. It's not far, but there will be a crowd to go through. Also, you'll just be getting done eating, then rushing to the dessert party. You'll be pretty full from dinner to be able to enjoy the desserts (my opinion anyway). With a 9pm Wishes, the dessert party will probably open between 7:45-8pm. The other issue i see is the possibility that your reservation at Tony's being delayed. If you want to do both, is it possible to change the tony's reservation to an earlier time? Just a thought.

Just returned and thought I would share my experience of the Dessert party.

We were there on June 10, 2013, Party of 5. We arrived about 9:10 since everyone on here said no need to arrive early. Our table was about second row. People were already standing at railing. Most tables have partially obstructed view from the terrace.

The desserts were well-presented and plentiful. The selection was pretty much as described earlier in these threads. We each took a sampling of 5-7 small servings and returned to our table, then went back for tea, coffee or lemonade.

All the desserts were fine tasting and it was fun to sample so many different ones. Upon my second visit to the dessert stations, I was disappointed that they were already out of the pistachio crème brulee. It was probably about 9:20. So, if there is some dessert you are particularly enamored with, better to take a couple right off.

By the time Wishes was approaching, the railing was full up, and many spots just back of the rail, were still partially obstructed by the terrace roof, at least from seeing the higher-up fireworks. There was plenty of room to move back and forth and to still grab a dessert while watching.

The "Celebrate the Magic" show was unbelievably spectacular. They project images onto the castle, which appear very clear. I imagine there is quite a lot of technology to get the images to focus on the irregular surface of the castle. We were every bit as much impressed by this as by Wishes.

No, it's not worth $30 for the desserts, the view is good but not the greatest and the desserts are not gourmet quality.

But,
Overall, it was a great experience, we ate way too much dessert and enjoyed being removed from the claustrophobia of main street.

Looking to do Dessert Party toward the end of October. We are 2 families with 9 ppl total (5a 4c). Would we be better off (maybe better seating?) with 2 separate reservations? This is our first time trying the dessert party. We are all looking forward to it.
