Hi! :wave2:

I am very interested in ordering a cake for myself and my Mother when we return to Disney. We have spoke about it and we both agree that we would like the mickey mouse head cake! But does anyone know if it's possible to get the hand piped one? We haven't picked a resturant yet in which to have it at, so if any of the chefs could do it, which would you think?

Thank you in advance! :thumbsup2

The only place I've seen one with any frequency is the Contemporary, which also services the MK, Ft. Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge. But you'd need to specifically request hand piping or you'll get the ganache-coated one. :thumbsup2

We just returned from a birthday trip to WDW. It was for my 40th b-day and my husband surprised me with this cake:

DH designed this cake with the bakery chef, since the chef had no villain cakes to show DH for ideas. The chef took pictures of this one to use as an example for future guests who want a villain cake or something similar.

We were at Trail's End for dinner and our waiter told us that everyone in the kitchen and the waitstaff had been oohing and aahing over the cake since it arrived in the kitchen. The detail on the cake was so amazing, we didn't want to cut into it! I have to say, this cake was one of the best birthday presents I've ever received!

DH won't give me a specific amount, but I think it cost around $160.

Thank you so much! Love the thread btw, you do a great job!

I need some help. My wife and I are having dinner at Le Cellier on the night of our one year wedding anniversary. I want to do something special and surprise her with a cake at the end of our meal. Anybody have experience with anniversary cakes, or know what would be a good option to go for? Who do I get in touch with? It's just the two of us so I don't need a huge cake. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

I am planning to order a specialty cake for delivery at either Narcoossee's or CRT. Which would be the better option, given the different chefs to prepare and decorate the cake?

Does anybody have any advice or suggestions on classy anniversary cakes? Would they deliver it to the restaurant? I've never ordered a cake through Disney before. Thanks!

Post #2 has the number to call for cakes at Epcot. They do now have a pastry chef on the team there, so you should be able to get the same kinds of fancy, fondant-covered (if desired) cakes available at Disney's Deluxe Resorts.

If you don't want a lot of leftover cake, you might consider ordering a mini cake, which is the perfect size for two. This thread is full of cake photos you may find inspirational, or you might want to work with the pastry chef to re-create the look of your wedding cake by emailing photos.

If you think of it, we'd love to see photos of what you get so we can see how it turned out! :goodvibes

I email Magic Kingdom Cakes for our upcoming meal at BOG and a cake for DD. She emailed me back within the hour - on a Saturday - and did not say anything about the restrictions.

Have they let up on those for BOG?

After nearly giving up on WDW cakes, we decided to give it "one last try" this year. I ordered through POR, and had such a pleasant experience. Communication was fast and very friendly. We were going with a Mario Kart theme, so the cake order was pretty basic. Vanilla cake and filling. I was quoted 85 plus tax, but we were actually charged a little less. I added the figures and cars.

While it was way too sweet for us to eat much of it, this was a huge hit with our boys!

With BOG, they have limited storage space so they are only taking orders cake by cake basis. Possibly there is a limit to how many cakes they can fit in their fridges so once they have their number, they can't take anymore for that day.

OH MY goodness...I'm embarrassed...I called a different number 'assuming' it was the same number that she emailed me. It wasn't...:scared: I got a guy on the phone who told me YES to everything except shipping them the topper (he said it was due to health reasons or something...:confused3) I'm so glad you let me know that it was a different number...YIPPEEEE...I'll be sure to post pics of my cake (if I can figure out how to :sad2: when I get it!!)

oh and for reference...

Boardwalk Inn bakery
It is an 8 inch fondant covered cake
circus themed
chocolate buttercream
vanilla cake
peanut butter filling
with writing on the cake plate and the cake itself with circus themed decor

quoted $84 Woot!

I am looking for a cake that will come from the Boardwalk Bakery and they told me it would have to be ten inch. A six or eight would be much better. I am looking for an allergy cake with a screen print. I was told that it could be chocolate, vanilla or marble with buttercream or whipped cream icing and buttercream, chocolate mousse or fruit mousse inside. All that is fine, but smaller would be better. Should I give it another try?

We are going in October & I want to order 2 cakes - we are celebrating my sons 12th birthday & my 13th anniversary. Is it too soon to order? We would be ordering from GF to be delivered to our room.

Ordered my first cake. Nothing super fancy.

We were originally supposed to travel to the beach club with my dad in June 2011 for his 61st birthday. That trip was reworked for our thanksgiving trip when he ended up hospitalized.

Today would have been his 63rd birthday, and next weekend mom will be joining us for her first trip back to WDW since we lost dad.

Maria at YC/BC PD was awesome to work with. I explained the background story, and told her what I wanted (10in vanilla with raspberry mousse) but that I was coming up empty on decorations and what to write on the cake. She sat down with her team and cams up with "Treasure the Memories"

I cannot wait to see the cake! It is scheduled to be waiting in our room upon our arrival :)

Call this number 407-827-2253 and follow the prompts to get to the Boardwalk bakery...the number I originally called I got a very unhelpful almost arrogant CM who told me 'no' to everything I asked. I then got this number from magickingdomcakes.com by recommendation of another poster on this thread :woohoo: The woman who emailed me back told me they basically only handled cakes for the MK and to call the number and I got someone who was extremely helpful and told me yes to just about all of my requests...they make it so tricky sometimes...:rolleyes1 If you do call please post what they tell you! Hope it goes well...

Hey guys. I'm heading to DisneyWorld in July 2014 and trying to budget a cake into my holiday for my mothers birthday but have no idea how much to put aside.

How much would a 3 tier mad hatter cake usually cost?

I don't know an exact price but you are looking at several hundred dollars. Plus, that's an awful lot of cake. You can have a one layer cake made that has the mad hatter tilt to it. How many people are looking to feed?
