Using more than one quick service credit per person?

We are paying for DH's parents to join us to see Disney for the first time. We're paying for their room, meals, etc. We'll all be on the meal plan, but the grandparents will be on regular meal plan in their package and we'll be on Deluxe with ours. Since we're doing some signature meals, grandparents are going to run out of credits. Is it possible for us to use some of our deluxe plan meal credits for them to eat with us? For example, can we all go to BOG at lunch and order 4 adult meals and meals for our children and put them all against our room? Would the CMs frown on that? When I'm letting my conscience be my guide, I know we are paying for everything for all parties anyway. I just don't want to encounter any trouble and embarrass my in-laws.

The official word is that dining credits are not transferable. Your room keys indicate the plan that you are on as well as the number of adults and children in your room. So, the CM would know that there are not 4 adults in that room.

As the PP said, no, the credit are not transferable. Since you have not gone yet, why don't you just pay the different to also upgrade them to the deluxe dining plan so everyone has the same number of credits?

Because they are only staying a few days and they won't really be able to use that many credits. :(

We really wouldn't do something as blatant as order for all of us at BOG. I was just throwing that out there as a wild example. But maybe we'd try and get one counter service meal mid-afternoon to supplement Grandma & Grandpa's snack. I'm really not one for cheating. I'm just struggling because I know my in-laws are going to be uncomfortable when they see how much everything costs. Like to the point where they will say they're not hungry. They've never been to Disney and I'm sure will never go again. I just want them to enjoy themselves and think it's all a better deal because we have these credits that "came with" the rooms.

Grandparents are staying 6 nights.

I think we'll just go back to our original plan of everyone on regular dining plan and bringing bagels, etc. to eat in our rooms for a meal or two each day. We were mostly only upgrading to the Deluxe plan so we could help the Grandparents out and make it a little more more fun and worry-free for them.

You can't do it at TS restaurants, but you can at a QS place. There isn't a limit there like at TS, because you could be buying yourself 2 QS meals, one for now, one for later or trying to use them up so you don't run out.

I'm sure you wouldn't have a problem, but worse case scenario, 2 different people can go up and order so you don't order more than you have people in your room.

Ethics aside...here is how it will work: You can not order more meals at one time than there are people on your card....they simply will not allow it. It you and you DH and two kids are on one card, you can order 2 adult meals and 2 kids meals at any TS and at any one CS transaction. If your parents are on their own card, they can order 2 adult meals. It can be signature, but as you said it would use more credits. Suggestion: What if you ask your parents to babysit for you one night? Give them money to get CS for all everyone, and you and DH enjoy at signature meal and they enjoy time with the kids without using any TS credits that night, saving one to use at a signature another night.

They do an have allowed it many times, otherwise the whole use your points as you like would be void, I have gone up and ordered more meals then stated on my card as DH and I have wanted to try a few meals,
Not once in my god knows how many 3 wk trips have I ever been told no.

Also for those who say it can't be done at TS places, easily around 5 times now have we gone with my mum and in-laws who had their own credits and yet when it came to paying the server has taken them all off of 1 card!!! Which has the resulted in us having hardly any credits on our cards and the server having to put them back on!

I'm not in anyway saying go break disney rules but I am explaining that it has been done just like you can split a meal with anyone on the DDP, CMs have never had a problem with the above.

I agree with PP...my mom has also gone with us and stayed in a separate room. We have just given our card for some meals which there were 2 A and 2K and used 3 A and 2 K credits. My mom has also used her card to return some of our credits using more than one credit at a time and nothing was ever said!! Not saying you wouldn't get a server to point out the rules but we have done it on more than one occasion! As earlier poster said QS credits can be used at 2 different registers. We have used credits and my kids did not care for what they ordered and we would go right back and order something else...we were never told no! Good luck and enjoy your vacay!!

I don't think you will have a problem. Worst case scenario, ask your in-laws to take the kids to the bathroom while you pay OOP (unbeknownst to them of course.) I think it is really nice that you are doing this for them. We hope to do the same thing for each of our parents someday, since they will never go otherwise.

Disney's official stance is that dining credits are non-transferable. And as one of the rules of the Dis is to not post ways to get around Disney's rules, I'm surprised a moderator hasn't come and shut this one down yet.

I have to add, I'm a pretty strict rule follower. I wouldn't share credits with someone, knowing it is against the rules, just like I wouldn't lie about how old a child was to get them in for free. Being able to get away with breaking a rule doesn't make it ok. And sooner of later Disney will crack down making things harder on everyone (think child's AP cost going up, and having to now show an ID for AP parking).

Listen, I'm not trying to be evil!! I feel so sick about all of this that I don't even want to go anymore. :guilty: I'm a rule follower, too. Absolutely NEVER have lied about my children's ages. I pick up litter that's not even mine and when nobody's looking. I don't take hotel shampoos. I haul my huge cart of Target groceries back over to the Target coffee shop because the sign says to please return the cart cup holder after you're done.

I just wanted to know if it was okay. I didn't know if Disney even cared - we would have been spending $1500 more just to upgrade us to Deluxe so we could "magically" get a turkey leg for these two senior citizens without having them stress out. I wasn't doing any of it to save money or jip Disney - it was going to cost us a lot more for the exact same meals.

I already said I'm not doing it. I found out about the Garden Grocer delivery and we're doing that instead.

Don't let it get you upset. It was a legitimate question that gets asked a lot.

There are a lot of "rules" that Disney has but their enforcement is spotty. So while it's possible to bend or break those rules, the disboards policy is not to permit posts that advise people how to get around those rules. I don't think that any comments were directed at you personally.

I wouldn't let it bother you. It's always better to ask if your unsure than to get there and be surprised. It sounds like you have it figured out. I think that's the best route to go, just to be on the safe side. The regular dining is 1 TS, 1 QS, and 1 snack/person/day so you could just pay OOP for anything extra, and tell the in-laws not to worry about the price, that you have it covered. Hopefully they will really enjoy it instead of worrying about the cost.

Don't worry about it, I have never done it with TS meals..But I do know with CS meals you can purchase more meals then what the card says at one time..You get so many points and when they are gone they are gone, Disney does not care how many you use a day..:duck:
