September 2013 CANCELLED ADR Thread - Read 1st Post

OK, I've been searching for BOG during my trip with no luck for a couple of weeks now (I did get an 8:55pm ADR the 2nd day I tried but am still searching for an earlier time). Out of curiosity I've been looking in the morning about an hour to 1.5 hours after WDW dining opens at the date exactly 180 days out and each morning I've looked there have been no ADRs available already by that time.

Today out of curiosity I searched every single date from today through December 15th (180 days out) and there was not one single ADR available (yes I wasted 30 minutes of my life for that).

I just plain cannot believe how hard it is to get a BOG ADR!

Tell me about it!! I search literally 20-30 times a day (or more) every single day. People in my real life think I'm nuts, but DD really wants to eat here, and even more, she REALLY wants to meet the Beast! If I don't get it, it's obviously not the end of the world, but it would make us all really happy.

I even found a 6:00pm reservation on the day after we are going to be at MK, and tried everything I could to fit it in, but wasn't able to. We would have had to add hoppers just for the meal, and I'm not spending that much money just for one meal. So, another DISer benefited.

I will keep trying with the hope i get REALLY lucky! Good luck to you!

You just have to be REALLY persistent! I went onto the reservation site and clicked Dinner for 2 for every day we were going down there probably 20 times a day before something opened up. I couldn't believe it! I clicked away from it accidentally before realizing what had happened! I hit back and grabbed it RIGHT AWAY! I know it's tedious, but keep trying and it WILL happen!!!

Edit to add: Thank you for what I would call painstaking research-I really hope you get your ADR!!

It is very sad that it is this way, it also leads me to wonder how many folks will hold mutltiple ADRs for here until the very last minute they can cancel to prevent their card from being charged.

Disney has done the very best thing that they could do however by offering lunch as a Quick Service option, giving many more families the opportunity to at least experience it. I've decided that I'm going to be happy with the lunch option-it's not so bad when I think about it. I will be eating off of real plates and utensils, they have a not bad menu, desserts are the exact same, and I have the option of seeing/sitting in a room not open for dinner.

BTW to the poster who has a dd that wants to see Beast-he used to be found at Epcot in France, not quite the same I know, but still an option.

I have been searching for an ADR for BOG many, many times a day for almost a month with no luck. I'm searching for an ADR for 5 so I feel like my chances are fairly slim.

I'm quite sure that people hold multiple ADRs (if they are lucky enough to get them) and that there will eventually be cancellations, I just need to be on-line at the right time. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this perservence pays off :)

Hi! Thanks! He used to be in France, but unfortunately not anymore :worried: we actually opted in Jan 12 to just meet Belle and not wait for Beast as we had an ADR to get to, and now I'm kicking myself. DD didn't seem to care that much at that time, now Beast is on top of her list.

We were there in December and saw the craziness that is the line trying to get into BOG for lunch. I almost think you have to camp out there as soon as you get in the park to have a chance. I know that was 6 months ago and it was the week it opened to the public, so maybe it's not quite as bad now.

I will continue to look for a better time slot, but if I can't get one I will still be very happy I was able to get one at all, even if it is at 8:55pm.

Do you think people are using multiple accounts to get multiple reservations? Because I had a situation where I decided to do dinner at A instead of B, but the system knew I had a ressie for B already and would not let me make the ressie for A at teh same time/date/party number.

Maybe, but I think the biggest thing is people staying on-property are getting the ADRs before anyone else can. When you stay on-property you are allowed to book ADRs a few days in advance of the 180-day window.

For example, 180 days from today is 12/15 but if my trip were from 12/15-12/21 I would be allowed to book an ADR for BOG, or anywhere else, for any of those dates (up to and including 12/21).

That's the only way I can think of that all the ADRs are gone right away first thing in the morning at 180 days out.

I am staying on-property in September but unfortunately I only booked my trip about 103 days out and wasn't able to take advantage of that little perk.

Yep, me too. We waited until the week before free dining came out for Dis Visa to book ADR's so a little over 120 days out or so.

I just cancelled Coral Reef for Sunday September 15th at 5:30pm for 4 people.

Booked The Garden Grill instead.

Yes! This! I need some hope...

OMG!!!!! I actually managed to snag a BOG reservation for Sept. 11th!!! WHAT?!?! Thank you to whoever cancelled that one! :cheer2:

About an hour or so ago, I did my daily routine of searching for BOG dinner times, and just about fell off my chair when a time slot actually showed up! But the website gave me so many problems (none of which I've EVER had before - go figure) and I thought I had lost the reservation for sure.

For some reason the site had logged me out and I had to put in my password THREE TIMES before it actually worked. Then after I filled in my credit card info and hit submit, I had the "processing your request" notice for a very long time. Then it finally stopped and said that there was an error. :badpc: I thought I had lost it for sure. I checked my email; no confirmation email. I went to check my reservations on the Disney site and it wasn't showing any of my reservations that I previously had on there. :confused3 So I retrieved my resort reservation and it magically brought all my reservations back (resorts and dining) INCLUDING a 4:25pm for BE OUR GUEST!!!! It actually went though! :woohoo:

Don't give up looking! It CAN happen! But hopefully you don't hit as many snags as I did...
