September 9, 2013 - WONDERful re-positioning trip to LA

Paid in full today! Having mixed feelings though. Happy to be going on a cruise with my DH and 2 younger sons but sad to be sailing without my older 2 sons. In October of 2011, we went on a cruise on the Dream, had a fabulous time. Also, spent a week at WDW. Just had a great time. Little did we know that it was our last vacation as a complete family. Two days after returning home, our eldest son, very unexpectedly passed away. Not long after his 18th birthday, which we had celebrated with an illuminations cruise at Epcot. We haven't been able to go anywhere Disney since then. Our second oldest son just graduated from high school and will have just left for college by the time we sail. So this will be a new experience for us.

Sorry to hear about your oldest son. I'm glad you all had a great time on the cruise and at WDW as a family.

Will you be heading to DL after the cruise?

I was able to choose the rooms I wanted for both cruises, both were available when I called DCL.

Must be mistaken as we have had 6652 booked for almost a year. I have the confirmation from my TA with the room # listed.

Maybe you misread my post: " I originally booked 6652 for the northbound repo, but when I moved my rez to the southbound repo, I switched to 6152. " All my confirmations say that I am still booked in this stateroom. I wanted to be facing the land, so I switched rooms when I changed from the northbound repo to the southbound repo.

We are in cabin 6516 and want to join Fish Extender group. Just sent request on Facebook. It will be our 2nd Disney Cruise. Me and my 3 kids. We can not wait!!!!!

Hello, everyone!

My husband and I will be celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary onboard the day after SF. (We've been together 19 y). Got married in Vancouver BC. And we're doing the Panama Canal Crossing back-to-back. We love the sea days. Plus we used to live in SF.

It seems there are many newbies booked. It'll be numbers 10 & 11 on DCL for us, so on the PC cruise we should get Platinum.

If anyone has any questions, please ask!

Nobbi & Jack

Congrats! :) My partner (soon to be husband) and I will be on the ship on our honeymoon.

First cruise - super excited! :)

So cool! Where are you guys getting married?

Iowa! Des Moines specifically. We were going to have a big wedding and all that, but realized that $10k could be better spent going to WDW, DL and Disney cruises LOL So we're "eloping" (and taking our best friends) and going to Iowa to get hitched, then going on the cruise!

I'll be on this cruise with my husband and two children. This will be there third Disney Cruise and second time on the Wonder. We are from Victoria :)

Hi and welcome. This is our 2nd Disney cruise and we're back on the Wonder. Very excited. We have 1 daughter who will be 8 by the time we cruise.

Was just able to log on and complete our online registration and get the PAT (port arrival time), although we have done a lot of cruising this is our first Disney and so we are newbie's here, this was the earliest date we could complete the registration but was thrilled there were still early check in times available, even the coveted 11am. We have already booked a couple more after this one (Feb on the Fantasy) and then next May the Pacific Coastal Wonder ending in Vancouver. The information on these boards is amazing.

I am hoping CaymanJet, that you might be able to share a bit about what is involved in traveling from Vancouver to Victoria (for those not using a car?). Flight routes will be available in July and it would be great to extend our trip and see Victoria. I had looked before and it did not appear that it was direct- not just a simple ferry from one port to the other. Then I noticed a thread on the disboards that said something about 'only on the day a ship is in port' there is another option- only one time slot- have you ever traveled to Vancouver without using your own vehicle- hoping there is something not too complicated since we would be hauling our luggage with us, 2 lively grandparents, adult daughter and grandson who will be 4 then. Anything you can share would be a huge help. Or if anyone out there can share some insight? We are from Southern CA and this will be our first trip to Canada, and first of many Disney cruises- thanks! Already working on our door decorations- can you tell we are excited.

Try that!

That was perfect, I had more or less thought it got rather involved since we would be towing all our luggage (we had missed out going last year when the Wonder actually stopped in Victoria), the pictures of downtown Vancouver and Victoria are stunning. Your link was a huge help and I just also found a dis thread where FergusBC posted a link for Pacific Coach which apparently they operate on cruise ship days with a coach transfer from the cruise terminal to Tsawwassen Ferry and take you right to downtown Victoria.

One more question if I may- if we stay in Victoria a couple days- recommendations for getting back to Southern CA- is flying from Victoria a good option or the airport remote to downtown if you don't have a car (love that Vancouver has an overhead metro right to the airport) or do most people prefer trying to reach Seattle by train or bus to fly onward, or back to Vancouver? Any tips on options from those in the know?

I am happy to reciprocate if anyone is thinking of doing the Wonder next May from San Diego to Vancouver- I can help with anything about San Diego- port is just a few minutes from the airport, Sea World is pretty close, we have a really nice shore promenade where the ship docks, etc. What little I know about Canada would fit in Mickeys ear :0) Again, Thank You!
