Well, my family (2A, 2C) has decided on August 2014 for our next trip. We go annually (just had a wonderful stay at YC back in April). :goodvibes

Unfortunately, after two CL stays (at WL and YC), we find ourselves addicted and committed to trying most of the CL's at Disney. :rotfl:

WL CL was a dream. :cloud9: Delicious food offerings, wonderful staff, wonderful housekeeping...just an amazing experience.

YC CL was nice, but the food offerings left alot to be desired (not a fan of fried, stuffed puff pastries most nights)...we loved YC but probably wouldn't chose CL there again. Feeling like we won't like BC CL any better.

So, next year, I would really like to stay at Poly CL (Poly has been my dream resort since I was 7 but I had been waiting for a refurb as was not a fan of the room decor). Now that there has been a room rehab, I am now worried about DVC construction that is rumored to start at the end of this year...

We also looked at GF, but for CL, I'd want to do main building, which would probably be about $700 more than Poly CL...:scared1: But, we would avoid construction issues....

AKL CL intrigues me, however, its distance from the parks worries me, because to enjoy CL you have to be at the resort, and I'm not looking forward to the hassle of getting back & forth to AKL just to enjoy the offerings. (YC was nice in that regard as we could just walk back from Epcot and DHS, where we spend alot of time).

So, all told, I am mostly down to Poly CL and GF RPC. Which would you chose? We will do our normal 10 or 11 day trip. We are not fond of the idea of a split stay.

I am soooooo torn, help me decide!!! :worship:

I priced out RPC in Sept. RPC was 195.00 more a night than a GV CL at Poly, and that was with 35% off. Are you comparing a TPV at Poly with RPC. I think most people would say RPC is better, but I think you would have to factor in the cost difference between the two.

Ooooh, yeah, my bad....It's $1550 more for GF RPC over 9 nights, and that is taking into account 40% discount (which we typically get under military discount). :crazy2: That's comparing Poly GV CL and GF RPC Standard room.

Looking at that number, makes me really shy away from RPC...

We stayed CL at AKL last November mainly to do the Sunrise Safari. Although the various foods through the day were tasty we mainly took advantage of breakfast. None of the foods were really worth the extra cost. I would guess I would have that same opinion for CL at any resort.

If it was me I would opt for the Poly. Or the BWI which wasn't on your list. I dislike the main club at the GF in fact the whole resort. My view only as we had too many issues that they never fixed even after talking the both club level manager & hotel manager. But this is my views. AKL is like you said not close plus you would be on the 4th floor & have to take the elevator up to 6th floor for the club level.

Good luck & let's hope they have the military discount soon :)

What I would really like to do is just book w/out CL....but I'm afraid I will miss it too much....:sad2:

CL at AK... it is worth it just to be able to do the Sunrise Safari!! we had a great time !! the pool was great at AK too.

Give Poly a try. Nice big lounge, good food offerings (both CL and at the resort), you can watch fireworks from the beach or lounge, good transportation options. Negatives (to me) are that the pool tends to get/feel crowded easily and the whole out-building concept, especially since you're going during a rainy time. Still, worth a try. For many, Poly is their favorite CL.

That said... What about GF SL? Yes, the lounge is smallish and not conducive to lounging, but it's bigger than the YC lounge. And since you're going in the summer, the location right next to the courtyard pool is super-handy. GF has amazing food offerings in the lounge & at the resort, and excellent CMs. And while SL is an out-building, it is very close to the main building.

You know, just to make your decision harder. :rotfl:

Yes!

The only thing making me nervous about Poly is the potential construction, otherwise, I'd be all over it.

GF SL is a possibility, though I don't see the glowing reviews like I do with RPC, though the foods are the same, correct? And, yes, the proximity to the pool would be fantastic! :worship:

Howdy MM, Just to add to things you are pondering...
I think AKL CL is very nice, and the best way to enjoy it is book it for the first several nights of your stay. You get all of the benefits, and basically avoid all the annoyingly long bus rides/waits. Enjoy the safari, see the animals, play in the very cool pool, you get the idea.
Then move over to your fav WL for the rest of your vacation. :dance3:

Hey Ginny!
The problem is that there are too many great choices!!! I know, first world problems and all...:rotfl:

I just want to make a decision prior to booking and not change the reservation a million times. :rotfl2:

We know that ain't happenin'! :lmao:

I do love Ginny's idea of a split between one that you haven't tried yet (Poly, AKL or GF) and then perhaps the WL because you know you love it. :goodvibes

That is quite a difference that would be hard to overlook for just a room. Having stayed at the Poly (GV), we absolutely love the resort and are trying CL in December. As much as I love RPC, I don't think I could spend $1550 more for it. The Poly is just as convenient to MK (IMO) and is also great for getting to Epcot as it's just a 5-7 minute walk to the TTC. Poly CL has also gotten great reviews lately. If the Poly has been a resort you have been wanting to try, I say give it a try. We won't experience Poly CL until right before Christmas, but I can give my comparison of the two when I return. Good luck as I know how hard it is to make a decision, especially when it's deciding on just one resort.

Sugarloaf is much more within the price range we would want to be at...but I know I've "talked" with you about the differences between that and RPC... Decisions, decisions...:rolleyes2

This is the reason I will never stay RPC. The difference in price between RPC and the other club levels is just too great for me to justify it.

I would love to try Sugarloaf. I have considered it for our next trip, but it is still 110.00 more a night than WL club level. I think I could live with 110.00 more a night, but 250.00 more a night for RPC....I don't know. Keep in this is with a 35% discount too.

Keep in mind that my opinion is just that.....MY opinion. There are a lot of people that love SL, just as there are people who love other CLs. For me, it just wasn't the right fit (although I am glad I was able to give it a try). With that said, you are the only one who can decide whether or not RPC is worth a try for an extra $1550. I do think RPC is amazing, but it also comes with a pretty hefty price tag.

I do think SL might be ok for us. We are not ones to sit in the lounge much, we usually take stuff back to our rooms or to go....

It might work. :goodvibes

If you plan on spending any amount of time at the pool, SL is very convenient for that. The SL building is located right next to the courtyard pool, so it's great for grabbing snacks and drinks while relaxing at the pool :thumbsup2.
