Signing off now. :wave2:

Safe travels to all!! See you at the 3 pm meet on Embarkation Day at the Promenade Lounge!!

We are in ATL... Short delay leaving from home when we discovered we needed our employee ID for the rental car rate we got which was $100 less than any other available rate, so we took the extra hour to go home, get my ID, then back to get the car then back home to load up and go. S we didn't leave home until noon but it was fine because my brother couldn't meet us til 6:00 so he got to the hotel just a few minutes after us. We had dinner together then we returned the rental car and took the shuttle back to the hotel. Checked in online for our flights.... So now we sleep, have altar check out tomorrow, then off to the airport!

Reposting this as I had some PMs asking for details.

For those interested in going to the Magic Fountains on Friday night, June 14th, the 9:00 PM show is Remix Disney. Here are the rest of the shows.

From the Renaissance Barcelona, we will take the metro, L3, from the Passeig de Garcia station to the Placa Espanya station. Here's the metro map online. The nearest metro stop to the hotel is the Passeig de Garcia where lines 3 and 4 meet. And while I'm at it, here's info about fares. It seems that because the route is all within Zone 1 that we can use a T10 card for 9,80 Euro for our family (and have two uses left over) rather than paying 2 euro per person each way (which would be 16 euro round trip for the 4 of us). The T10 card gives you 10 uses and can be shared among your group, so you just have to be careful putting it in and out of the machine.

It looks like we should allow about 30-45 minutes to get there with plenty of tie to spary (it may be pretty busy) from the hotel to include time to walk to the metro stop (which is very close to the hotel), purchase required metro tix (we may go get ours earlier in the day), getting to the stop, and then walking to the fountains from the metro stop, so I'd say if we leave the Renaissance Barcelona no later than 8:00 pm, we should be there in plenty of time for the Remix Disney show at 9:00 PM. It looks like the next performance starts at 9:17 PM so we can still be back to our respective hotels and apartments before we turn into pumpkins ala Cinderella's coach.

So does that sound like a good plan, or does someone have other suggestions (I'm open, I had originally planned to just ask the concierge at the hotel for the best way to do it but tonight I was working on our Barcelona details and had the Streetwise Map out and saw how easy it looked). Feel free to jump in with your experience or other information we may have overlooked. Can't wait to be there next week!!!!

Scary stuff in ATL - glad to hear it hasn't affected too many. Strike in France is ending a day early, so looks like we are OK for Friday arrival in Paris and on to Barcelona!!!! Now just need to navigate CDG and get to the other terminal on very little sleep with two kids in tow - won't be shy about asking for help that's for sure!

Can't wait to meet all of you on Saturday! Hard to believe after almost 500 days of waiting it is right around the corner!!!:cheer2:

We usually get to the port fairly early so look for us in the terminal if boarding has not commenced when you get there. My DDs each made a "DIS" sign...one with "DIS" and several Mickeys, the other with "DIS" and the flags of the countries the ship is going to. We usually hang them on our roll-aboard bag handles where we are sitting, unless there is somewhere more convenient. Haven't been to the port in BCN so not sure what the seating is like. If all else fails, just look for 2 very excited 10-year-olds, DW & Grandma (both probably napping from jetlag), and me...anxiously pacing and waiting to board so MY vacation can finally begin!

Leaving just over 24 hours from now! Safe travels to all!

Sweet! We are taking DCL transportation so I don't know what time we will get there, but we will certainly be on the lookout for any and everyone we have gotten acquainted with these last 17+ months. I love that they made signs!

We're in Frankfurt waiting for the flight to Barcelona- looking forward to meeting everyone!

We just arrived in BCN. We have been traveling for over 20 hrs. From start of waking up until we checked into our lodging.

One big mistake that we should have done is to get an Intl. Phone plan.

If you need to make a phone call from the airport, go to the Tourist office right outside the customs to your right.

Very wonderful people.

We Re seeing more and ore DCL people, some with travel tales similar to other DISers, and some without their luggage. I hope by Saturday that all will be sorted out and lots of pixie dust will have been spread.

Still stateside, with the probability of flights being disrupted by dangerous storms moving through the DC/Philadelphia area tonight. At least I'm not flying until tomorrow and maybe the power won't go out for the whole day.
