Free Dining Extension ~ Oct-Dec

It was in the September code thread and went largely overlooked. I don't get it either, it just makes some folks have big heads and overshadows the point of it all.

At the end, nobody saves money because of a leak, they save money because of the promo that would happen even without a leak. Year after year I've heard people say "because of so and so I was able to save a fortune". They should say because of Disney, because they're the ones making the offer.

Thanks for remembering that info I posted some time ago. I took it from a Southamerican travel agent that posted it in an Orland travel forum in Spanish where I participate.

I didn't read anything about a possible extension of the offer, but it really sounds great and I'm sure a lot of people in our forum would be really happy about it.

And if they extend it to January like in 2011 (when I had free dining) then it would be AWESOME because that is our Summer when most people in Southamerica go to WDW.

I'll post your info in our forum to see if anyone has any further news about it and of course if there are any, I'll share it with the Disboards.

Very true, and a few have been idolized to the point that some people won't listen to anyone but them. Everyone gets their info from somewhere else, so it's not hard to believe that the same source isn't used by more than one person. It's not like Disney only has one leak in the entire world...

I'm just sharing info as I get it, but I can't force anyone to look at it and take it for what it's worth. Even more amazing is that all the leaks in the past and likely in the future aren't perfect, and all have had mistakes...yet some overlook them to the point of saying that so and so is 100% accurate when that's never been the case in years and years I've been on the dis.

I remember back in 2010 when free dining was said to be dead, yet me and a couple others leaked the date at basically the same time, few believed us, then a few more and eventually people realized it was on target and we all got the free dining we were hoping for. In the end, we just want it to be included for our dates, that's about it.

August 2010 was our last trip and I was following the posts back then too. I remembered your id when I came around to plan this trip.

I called Disney reservations on May 18 and discovered that a free dining pin was attached to my husband's name. The CM also said that I could add free dining room reservations for 2 additional family groups. So, my husband and I plus our DS, daughter-in-law, and grandson will be visiting WDW Nov. 22 to Nov. 29. We've already reserved our 2 rooms at POFQ. My husband also received a snail mail pin for free dining at the beginning of June---with a 5 day room and ticket package required for free dining rather than the 4 day ticket required on the pin I received by calling. The Oct.-Dec. dates for free dining seem to be the same however.

I didn't belong to disboards at the time so my info came when I had to look up my reservation for something and found it under disney specials. When I called to apply it the cm mentioned disboards so I joined up after that. When I think about the Times I went in 2007and2009 I never looked at the disney specials and I missed out. Now I'm with the rest of you guys having anxiety and high bp just waiting. But it's hard to keep up with so many threads to find who might have the right sources. I go based on what other people post that why I have reservations at POR. My first choice was pofq but someone posted that pofq doesnt see specials so I thought that ment fd too. But since iv only stayed at values I've had nothing to compare it too. Everyone here has been great with info and lifting spirits up I just don't want to leave this particular thread. Sorry black, but your the one I be looking at for info till I can feel out who has the correct information.

POFQ does have less availability when it comes to any specials/discounts being offered because it's a smaller resort (less rooms to fill = less rooms to offer discounts for).
As Joe has mentioned, no one with any insider info about these things is ever or always 100% accurate. I like the fact that he acknowledges this and issues words of caution to "not bet the farm" until the offer is officially announced. That adds to credibility, I think.
Add that to the fact that
1) he does have a lot of good information about Disney in general in addition to discount offers &
2) he seems like a genuinely nice guy who is here giving what help & information he can not for the glory & kudos, but for fun & to help others with Disney "stuff".
Besides, this is a pretty cool group to hang out with. I've been enjoying keeping up with these threads; sharing in the excitement when someone gets the discount they've been hoping for & trying to offer support and encouragement for those still waiting for the magic discount to grace their trips.

I'll be looking as long as my boss gives me a day off once in a while. My hours at work are a little crazy. Sometimes I could be working a 16 hour day so by the time I get home there's no time for disboards. But for the small amount of time I do get to be here, iv learned that 1. Cms know very little 2. Pins are random(but I do believe that Disney's marketing dept has a method to there maddness)3. Cms know very little.4. I am not ment to get this pin and cms know very little

Chat is chat room. Joe/Black has a Disney blog (the link is located under his sig), click the link to his blog and there is another link that says "Joe's Disney Chat." From there you just sign in with your name, hit the button, and your in. When there is another one, you will have to join us. Can be lots of fun!
