Help me narrow down these ADRs

Hi everyone,

We are traveling to the world in October. I went ahead and made ADRs hoping to receive FD. Not sure if that will happen yet or not. We are staying at BC though and I have gathered that sometimes it is more economical to go for the RO dsct. If so, I need to narrow this down to 2-3...

We have my Dh, myself, and DS13, DS11, DD7

Here goes (not in any particular order)

Sci Fi - lunch
Prime time - lunch
1900 Park Fare - lunch
Hoop De Doo revue - dinner
Camp May - breakfast

I originally wanted Chef Mickeys for breakfast and BOG but didn't get either of those.

Thanks for your help!:thumbsup2 Also, I am up for suggestions or opinions on any others.

I think Prime Time would be fun for the older kids (and parents), and Hoop Dee Doo is fun for the whole family. 1900 PF only does breakfast and dinner as far as I know-at breakfast the food is better, but the characters may not excite your kids, and at dinner the characters are outstanding, but the food is not so great. Cape May breakfast would be pretty convenient, and I've heard good things. If I was only choosing one character breakfast, I'd pick Tusker House though.

Have I made things worse? I was really trying to help :goodvibes

:rotfl2::rotfl2:Funny! I had Tuskar House and cancelled it....but it was lunch:rotfl2:

I think I definately need to eliminate either Sci Fi or Prime.... My DD loves the stepsisters and that is the only reason I have 1900 Prime booked. But then again, that is an expensive dinner...

Thanks for your help!

Have you been to any of the restaurants you have listed? It would be easier if I knew what you normally like. :)

Hi Julie! No, we haven't. The only other time we have been to Disney we had breakfast at Ohana and loved it!:cool1:

We are not super picky eaters either and pretty easily pleased!

Of the ones you have listed, my upcoming itenerary has Hoop Dee Doo dinner, Prime Time lunch, and Cape May breakfast.

So I guess those are the three I'd pick.

Oh I see. Well first off my opinion would be to downgrade your hotel and spend the difference on food. :rotfl: I laugh, but strongly believe in this. I have a big family as well. We don't ever stay at the hotel, so we just need beds and a bathroom. Everyone is different though. :)

I've only tried Scifi and 50s on your list. Scifi was just meh for us. Nothing to write home about, but it was a neat atmosphere. I ate very little of my dinner, and even dessert wasn't good. I love 50s though. Yummy food and fun antics. Is your DD into princesses? I, a 30something adult, was in love with Akershus for both food and interaction. I cried when I met Snow White because she was my fav and so good there. lol

We love Sci Fi, Prime Time and HDDR. I would definitely skip 1900 Park Fare and Camp May, there are better character meals in our opinion.

I totally get where you are coming from however, my DH would prefer a beach vacation....:rotfl2::rotfl2:...so this is kind of our compromise.:) My kids love DH and Epcot so walking/boating distance sold us on it. And the pool!:thumbsup2

Okay, I have read that review a lot about Sci Fi so that one might really need to go first. DD is not really into princesses anymore at home but at WDW who knows, right?!? I hadn't even thought of Akershus?

Thanks so much!

Okay, that is great to know.:thumbsup2 Thanks!

Artic - Did you love the food or experience at Sci Fi or both? As far as other character meals which ones would you try for with my age kids.

Thanks so much for your time!!:thumbsup2

We also liked Sci-Fi, Prime Time, and HDDR. We went to 1900 Park Fare in 2011 with the step sisters and they were fantastic but the food was not good. We will not go back.

You could do BOG for lunch (CS) if you can't get an evening reservation. But maybe if you keep trying, something will open up.

Our favorite breakfast buffet is Crystal Palace with Winnie the Pooh and friends. We love to walk down main street before the park has opened. It is just so neat to see the castle with no guests around and we have taken some great pictures during this time.

Hope you have a wonderful trip.

I can understand that compromise. My DH is just as frugal as I am though, so he would probably laugh til tears if I suggested a deluxe. We have 4 kids...17, 14, 5, & 1. I realize that the age gap there makes me at least slightly insane in itself, but college age and diapers is killing me. I should have said we did dinner at Akershus by the way. I don't know about breakfast. I think we all act a bit like kids at WDW, so it's hard to say about the princesses. My teen daughters love them still when there! :) Biergarten is another fun one.

We were there most recently in Jan. We had the deep fried pickles to start and they were yummy. We all had burgers and fries and they were great. We sat at a table in the back, where you face each other. There was three in our party, we really liked the table and will request one from now on. We always find the service great and have never had a bad meal. DH and DD always get great milkshakes too:thumbsup2

It depends on what kinds of meals your family likes to eat and how long you are willing to travel to the restaurant. My kids don't care at all about the characters (I, however, love it for the photo pops) so we are mostly staying in the parks for meals except for favorites like the Cape May seafood buffet and The Wave.

Oops, I meant photo opps. Stupid autocorrect

We just ate at Cape May last Saturday. We had it as our last meal before leaving. We were staying at BWV so it was a nice walk over. We thought the food was good and we saw Minnie, Goofy, and Donald. If we stay at one the EPCOT resort again we would go here again.

We also at at 50's PT. My mom and I split the sampler and it was enough for both of us. We wanted to get dessert to splitting the meal was perfect, no way I could have eaten dessert if I had a whole meal by myself.

We ate dinner at 1900 Park Fare because DD wanted to eat with Cinderella after doing BBB. The food was ok here, but not great. The strawberry soup was good. The characters weren't as good as I remember them being the last time. We probably won't return for dinner, but I would like to try breakfast sometime.

Since 1900 and Hoop De Doo are the most expensive, I'd probably get rid of one of those.

Thanks Linda! I have been trying to get a Crystal Palace ADR on our MK morning so we can get in early but nothing is available...:)

Thanks! Did you eat Cape May breakfast or lunch? Right now we have it as our late breakfast at 10 on the day we check out.

Love the picture too!!:)

Hi there!!!!! We just got back from WDW just over a week ago. Myself ds13, ds13 & ds9. We had ADR for both sci-fi and Prime because I couldn't choose (never been before) so everyone liked the food at both prime & sci-fi. Prime time has more of a home cooked yummy to it & my boys got a kick out of there new names: Skippy, skeeter & scooter. But, when we go again my boys vote for sci-fi... The cars are cool, it's quiet and they have awesome burgers! I think we will try Tusker on our next trip for breakfast. We LOVED HDDR all 3 of my boys thought that was a big part of the trip, since they called us out alot. Have a great time!!!!!

Awesome!!! Thanks...:thumbsup2 I can only imagine my kids laughing over the names...:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I was wondering if you could share some of the logic behind why you chose the restaurants you did. It would better inform my suggestions for which ones you should sacrifice, if it comes to that, but let's hope it doesn't.
