Halloween on the Magic 2013

I think we have everything booked at this point. Just got a rental car for November 1st. We have a very late flight out and I've always wanted to see the coral castle in Miami.

We have everything booked. Now we just need to pay in full and start picking shore excursions. For the few days prior to the cruise, we are going to do Disney without the parks-- La Nouba, mini golf, etc

We are signed up for three nights at parc soleil (Hilton grand vacation) in Orlando. We got offered one of those huge discounts in turn for listening to the timeshare hard sell. For $200 we get three nights in a nice 2 bedroom villa. We are staying there after the cruise.

We aren't sure what we are going to do in Orlando yet. We have been to Wdw that we are thinking about trying something new.

Really wanted to do this cruise , but it is for my DD and she doesn't want to miss school.

So we found one where she will only miss one day. Good compromise!!!

Another day closer to the cruise! It's been in the 70s and beautiful here for the past few days, but I still can't wait to see the Magic! I've been watching the short videos on the updates, and I'm excited to see them in a few months.

I think I have seen all the videos. On the one hand I like to know about all this stuff ASAP. But then again sometimes it is nice to have things kept secret until you get there.

My son keeps asking things about the marvel assemble room that it is impossible to to know yet - like the specific details on how it is going to work. The funny thing is how he asks. Like coming in our room at 10 pm "dad I can't sleep because I keep thinking about the marvel room". Or at dinner he will ask a really long and complex question that you can tell he has been over analyzing it.

All I know is my son has very high expectations. Fortunately,I am confident that Disney is one to deliver. I would hate to think how other companies would botch up something like this.

I'm positive that Disney will deliver! I'm just nervous that, although I know I'll like the updates, will the Magic still be herself. The one thing I'm bummed about it Parrot Cay, but I'll stay positive and see what the new restaurant has to offer. Don't get me wrong--I'm still excited to see the updates!

Oh, I am too, but in the short you never know how the execution is going to be. The anticipation makes the curiosity run-amuck.

The one thing I'm bummed about it Parrot Cay, but I'll stay positive and see what the new restaurant has to offer.

PC wasn't my favorite.... (to put it very politely). So for me, the change is welcome. But my opinions may not be shared by others. So in this case, I hope for you, that you won't still be sad with the new skinning of the restaurant.

Another day closer to the cruise! The FE gifts have been purchased!

A note about the FE list...it will close one month prior to the cruise. Anyone wishing to join after the close date may do so--knowing that others purchased/made gifts based on the closing date numbers, so they should not expect to receive gifts from everyone.

We have been to WDW many many times and thinking that it may be nice to see other things that might be less expensive or not all day activities. Anyone have any recommendations?

Before the cruise we are staying at AK-KV. We aren't doing the parks either. We're planning on doing mini golf, Cirque, renting little water sprites, etc. Let me know if you find any other neat activities.

Super hot!! We've had temps in the 80s the past two days--near record breaking heat for Anchorage.

Funny how location and temperature can be related.

The kids had planned to their friends pool today but their mom said it was going to be too cold for the pool (low 80s). Not that I agree with their friends mom said, but it made me chuckle. Especially in context with how that must feel in Anchorage.

We have done mini golf at WDW a few times. Last time my wife and I did the pro course at fantasia gardens. Boy that was challenging. We have also taken the kids to see La Nouba. I am debating doing some of these things again vs something we haven't done before.
