Here's some photos from the afternoon at Castaway Cay:

testing out the waterproof camera's waterproofness

mangrove snapper - mmm widllife

The afternoon the family cabana beach really quieted down.

I may or may not have fallen asleep here.

DSis and I also played a little beach volleyball. There is a court on the beach just a bit further down from our cabana - away from the family beach. The balls are there. It's easy to pick up and play and we had a lot of good laughs and a good time.

This really bothered me. The four in the background are cast members working during our cruise on the stage - I saw some as Princes and others as Lion King dancers, etc. Anyway I didn't like that they were talking loudly, complaining about their jobs. One was reading a text from his wavephone that said that he had to escort Cinderella and he was pissed about it. They were kissing (I didn't think I should take a photo while they were kissing - I have some class :)). Anyway, my point is I don't think that cast members (whether it is Snow White and Prince Charming or Petter Pan and Belle or Snow White and Belle or Prince Charming and Prince Philip) should be kissing in public and I don't think they should be complaining about their jobs in public. This happened several times on the 9th deck pool area as well. I got an earful hearing one of the actresses/singers telling another all about her boyfriend Ivan, who is married with kids, but his wife is CRAZY and he's going to leave her etc. Not that another guest could have been just annoying to sit by at the pool, but why did working cast members have to be at the guest pool and guest sundeck anyway? If they are on vacation that is one thing, but they were working this cruise. Don't they have their own pool and their own beach? I know I'm going to get flack for this but it's my opinion that this is inappropriate. I thought cast members had to be "on" in public? I do in my job.

Just wondering who forced you down the stairs when you got on? I wanted to check something about our dinning so we just walked right to Studio Sea. No need to go down any stairs and no one told me I had too.

Not to belabor the point but I've been reading Flossbolna's trip report (a great report by the way) for the Wonder out of Miami. About halfway down on this post you will see a photo of cast members directing cruisers down the atrium stairs. So I do think this is how it is done for those cruising out of Miami:

Okay, got that off my chest. Now back to the ship...

Mom and Dad got a cheese plate in their room when they returned.

and we said "See ya Real Soon" to Castaway Cay

Though I TOTALLY agree with you, and as an ex-Cast member myself, cannot stand cms that have personal conversations in front of guests, it's my personal opinion that you should take the pic down. If disney sees it, those cast members could be in serious trouble and might even lose their jobs.

Ok. I am going to just end this by saying I saw, nor no one told me to go down any stairs. I guess it was different for different people. As for what off duty CM's do in public. I am going to speak from what would happen at my job or on one of our planes cause the rules are pretty much the same as when I worked for Disney. First off what they do in their time off is their business. Now yes if it were found out they work for Disney in any capacity they are still representing the company. They should not be complaining about work in front of guests. As to the PDA I would not have a problem with that. They are allowed to date each other so that's cool as long as they were not making out in the tram I see nothing wrong there. It's the same for me when I fly for fun. If my wife comes I can give her a kiss, hug, hold her hand. As long as we are not being inappropriate then no foul there. So that's my tale on that.

Aw. That's adorable about you and your wife. But this was pretty inappropriate "making out" - like teenagers on the back of a school fieldtrip bus or outside the mall. Good for them - just think they should keep it to the CM beach, especially since they are so recognizable as "face" characters or whatever. A good friend of mine and his wife met working at WDW - she was Minnie Mouse and he was a safari driver at Animal Kingdom - they met on the job but didn't walk around the park holding hands in costume on their time off. It's just part of the deal when you are recognizable.

Windwood Island Sunrise - I really enjoyed this

I agree, making out is not right to do in front of the guests that's for sure. Also I would say it's inappropriate if said CM was in costume holding hands and so forth. I have no problems with them holding hands if they are not in costume, again it's their time, and holding hands is harmless. Bad mouthing their job in front of guests or making out in front of guests is completely inappropriate if in view if guests on your own time at CC. If it were in port and you were at a bar, nope that's fair game.

One of the nice surprises of this cruise was that the kids areas were occasionally opened for adults to experience particular youth activities. Tonight they had the Oceaners' Lab open at 10:45pm for adults to learn how to paint animation cells.

In the Oceaners' Lab there are cabinets of "stuff", "more stuff" and "a lot more stuff".

these cabinets are actually labeled that.

The youth activities leaders did a great job with a packed house. But if you do this, and they tell you that it doesn't matter which side you paint, it DOES matter - if you have a cell with letters on it.

Minnie was backwards and one of us can't remember what color Ariel's fins are.

the end - day two

Looking at the Navigator reminded me - we saw the show in the main theater that evening - Mike Super the magician. He was Super! And he was also so L......... I'm going to see if someone else can fill in the blank...

LAVENOUS!!
I absolutely agree with your objection of the behavior of the cast members that you saw on the tram and poolside. It certainly takes away from the magic--but does make for some good storytelling.:)

I agree. Sounds like these guys were acting completely inappropriate. This would definitely take some of the magic away for me. I doubt Disney would approve.

The complaining etc would bother me, but the kiss wouldn't ( as long as it was just a little peck and - not a make out session. CM or not, that is tacky, especially in a family atmosphere).

Loving your TR! We are on the EBPC in September.
