What are the best things to aquire as souvenirs from your cruise that are for free (even if you aquire them through unorthodox means).
No stealing or red pillow stories please.

the sail away shaker streamer thingys
apparently your kiddos can get a cinch backpack from kids club for certain activities.
pixie dust is always FREE,,,,
& of course your wonderful memories

oh yeah and there are postcards & stationary in the room you can take with you :)

DCL pens. I got two different kinds on my last cruise. One kind from the spa (with caps that come off), and one from guest service (tops that twist). I use them all year long, and they make me smile.

Napkins. Drink coasters (usually from places while in port).

Some of the shows shoot off confetti and streamers in the WDT, I always get that.

Extra copies of the Navigators. Port shopping maps.

Swizzle sticks.

Sorta free - sail away drink glasses.

I love pens :thumbsup2 They always remind me of where I've been every time I use them.

They have temporary tattoos (pirate mickey on my last 2 cruises) at the DVC desk.

The kids get free Pillowcases to decorate at the PJ Party in the club.

The kids also get free pictures with certain characters if they are there in the club. (They print them and give them to you later). I've seen Dopey and the Green Army Men and I think Pinachho (sp? I can never spell that right).

The Character photographers have little trading cards they give to the kids each night. Those were free

Chocolates on your pillow at turn down.

I love my postcards and stationary from the desk

I always get an extra luggage tag. I keep one from each cruise and they hang on my cubical wall. It makes me smile to see them when I am working.

:) DS gathered up a whole bunch of the golden mickeys, and later on near bedtime loved taking them up in his bunk and then scattering them on us. It was very very cute. :)

Now they'll go into the scrapbooks.

The DCL travel corkscrew. It looks rather disposable...

Any free drinkware?

If you buy a specialty drink they are hawking on deck or in the atrium in the evenings, it comes in a souvenir drink glass - not exactly free as I think you can request the same drink for less in a regular (non-souvenir) glass.

There are kids drinks at the theater are sold in souvenir Tinkerbell and Toy Story cups with light-ups on them - again, same drink in a regular cup will be less so still not technically free.

Enjoy your cruise!

On one of our cruises, we asked our server if we could take just one of the menu's we got each night as a souvenir. He gave us menus for most of the nights (there were a couple menus he wasn't able to give). For the Pirate Night menu, both he and our assistant server signed it on the front and then gave it to us. :)

And they last! I use them when I write my substitute reports at school - they remind me why I took the job and what I have to look forward to.

It's not free, but we have the photographers that come around during mealtimes take a picture of us with our serving team. We then purchase that picture and have the serving team autograph the photo. We end up with a great photo and the serving team feels special too.

I love the pens! I told my husband that we had to go on another Disney cruise when they ran out. It's been four years and the things still haven't run out! Luckily, we already have the next one booked for 2014.

My favorites are the postcards in the stateroom desk drawer, pens in the stateroom, and pirate bandanas!
