Does everyone change ADRs multiple times? Or am I just crazy?

I have had so much trouble settling on what I want for ADRs! I've made and cancelled reservations at various places so many times I've lost track. For some reason I can't just stop and be happy with my plans-I keep reading reviews, and adding a meal, and then taking one away because its too much food.

Does everyone go through this? I'm a first time Disney tripper, so maybe that's part of the problem..... It does make me wonder if someone at Disney sees all these cancellations, they'll think I'm nuts!!:rotfl2:

I think many folks do change their ADR's but I am not one of them. I do my research before my 180 day window and I decide which park which day for our 8 days. Once that is decided I review the menus here on the DIS and at allears.net to see what appeals to us. Then I discuss the options with my family and we make our choices. In all our trips I don't think I have changed more than a handful, if that.
Since everyones tastes are different, I generally don't let the reviews sway me unless there is a strong, new negative trend.
And just as an FYI Disney can see all of your cancellations. Your account has all activity in its history.
Good Luck and Have Fun.

Nope. We plan ahead and when our ADR day comes we make the adrs we want and that's that! But we do our schedule multiple times prior though so our switching is just ahead of time lol
I have had to change one or two over the many trips based on my parent who live in fl suddenly deciding that they want to join us lol Now that drives me batty! Lol

Haha okay-oh well! I think I'm finally done tinkering at this point anyways! ;)

I don't necessarily let the reviews sway me too much, but I'll read something about a place I hadn't thought of and think "I need to try that!" I should probably jut stop reading the restaurant reviews at this point!

I've definitely done my share of ADR changing. I think for me it's because the planning kinda extends my vacation lol. I don't worry so much about reviews now though. I've been to some of the top reviewed places (Boma and Via Napoli to name a couple) that I didn't think were anything special. I've also gone to ones that either don't get talked about or get low reviews and loved them.

In my defense - we decided to go to Disney when we were 183 days out. And that day I discovered this whole 180 day phenomenon and started scrambling. So I didn't have much time to get settled on decisions before that! :)

No need to defend yourself. I have yet to make a trip 180 in advance or more, so all of my good ADRs are due to extensive patience and checking. Not everyone has everything planned so completely. :)

i've been to disney many many times, and I still change my ADRs CONSTANTLY! Im a loon! I admit! Trust me YOU ARE NOT ALONE! :thumbsup2

Hahaha! This makes me feel much better! I'm not completely crazy. (either that, or we both are crazy:P)

You are not alone! At 180 days out I still didn't have enough info on who would be joining us at any given time, so I have spent the past few days cleaning up ADRs. I know the WDWDINE folks are tired of talking to me!!! :-)

Constantly changing here!!!! Actually, thought I was all set and then the Dessert Party opened up and I booked that. So now don't want a big TS dinner that night, so more changing. Still hoping for a couple things to open up that I couldn't get. So checking and checking for those and if they open, that will be more changing. I've never booked more than 180 days out, so get what I can when I book and then check to make changes as we get closer and things open up. No---for me, ADRs become almost a full-time job!

I have been going for years and changing for years. Some reservations are not that easy to get or change so I pretty much stay with those. Other wise I'm changing all the time. I have even changed the same day. With the app on my phone it's a breeze. You not alone we all do it.......

I have the same problem. I had everything book at my 180 day mark, now my ADR's look nothing like they did then. I just need to stop reading reviews. Every day I'll read something new and end up changing something. It's also my first visit, so I don't have any 1st hand knowledge.

I begin planning a couple months before the 180 opens and I still end up cancelling and rearranging for a couple months after! I keep the ones that are most important, but I might add/remove because I change where we will be that day, or rethink timing, or just because I over think it! My DH thinks I'm a little crazy, but I actually think all the planning helps me stay sane! :rotfl:

I drive my fiance crazy with changing ADRs (he does the online booking because we use his cc). Last year, I probably changed at least one restaurant every week for about 10 weeks!

It's ok, I consider it part of the fun of planning a Disney vacation!

I usually "TWEAK" here and there--- just booked our Thanksgiving trip
11/28-12/7, and had booked "Le Cellier" one day----

As soon as I mentioned seeing Remy to our DD7, I had to change to "Chefs De France" !!!

(However, I did switch the "Le Cellier" to Sunday, when Remy "doesnt work")
:)

I constantly change ADR's too! I'm always looking for something better - better reviewed restaurant or better time - and sometimes our schedule changes. You are definitely not alone! And I agree, it does extend the planning which is half the fun for me :)

I don't think I will. I got every ADR except BOG at the perfect times. I am still looking for BOG but not sure I want to skip the ADR I have for that particular day.

OMG, I am terrible about changing ADR's!!! I am constantly wanting to make my next Disney vacation the best ever, so I'm always looking at different websites and reviews of restaurants. One day one place sounds really good, the next day something different. My terrible sadness right now is that Kona changed their dinner menu and none of the food is appealing to me right now. Dessert, that's another story!!!

I do - am always changing my mind. When you had to call your ADRs in I would make plans and stick with them, but, now it is so easy to change. So many great places - sometimes it's tough to get everything at the ideal times or if I change my mind and decide on a different plan for the day:) I added a breakfast at CP last night - not because of the character breakfast but to be in MK when it is quiet and deserted.
