Disney Magic vs Dream...questions

Anyone know if and how different the pirate nigh party performances are between the Magic and Dream are. Still trying to decide on which one. My DH is a HUGE Pirates of the Caribbean fan. It looks to be that only the Dream has that theme and the Magic more of a Captain Hook theme. Anyone know?

Bumping up your thread to see if someone else will come along who has been on both ships recently and can give you some input.

If I recall correctly the show on both the Magic and Dream seemed to be about the same but my memory could be a little fuzzy.

Do you mean how to you bump up a thread? I already did that for you by posting a reply.

If no one replies to a question you asked just re-post to the thread you started, it moves it towards the top of the board so others will see it and hopefully reply. Once your thread falls to the second page it's difficult to get responses because oftentimes people only have time to look at the first page of threads.

BTW, :welcome: to the DISboards!

The pirate party on the magic & wonder are more disney character related with dancing and want not. On the dream/fantasy the pirate party is more of a show with human pirates (similar to jack sparrow--who does make an appearance). I think both shows are entertaining! Both shows end with fireworks!

If the weather is calm mickey will zip line from one stack to the next only on Magic and Wonder!

Ok. I've been in the classics 4 times and new ships four times. This is subjective, but we cannot stand the pirate party on the new ships. Although we don't attend the party anymore, we much prefer the show on the classic ships. The storyline is cuter (Capt Hook & crew take over the ship and Mickey saves the day) and Mickey zip lining down is super cute.

Again, totally subjective.

On the Magic special, they said they were are biodegradable vegetable products?

Nm. I just read on another thread that it is noise pollution.

I've been on the Magic and the Dream in the last year. I prefer the Dreams version. They have a show between the 2 dining times. I like this show a lot. Then after late dining, before the fireworks they do a bit more, but this part I don't care for as much. It's just too crowded for one.
The Magic has their pirate show/dance party after the late dinner. It was WAY too long in my opinion. It was still cute, but it seemed to go on much too long.

The pirate night show and party on the Dream is a lot MORE of everything versus the Magic. The fireworks involve "cannon" shots from two angles on the Dream, the lights on the AquaDuck add to the performance, and there are a lot more special effects on the Dream than the show on the Magic. It was exciting and fun to see a new version on the Dream!

I am normally the person to say, go with the Magic with the enhancements, but the Pirate show on the Dream was pretty awesome versus the Magic. I wish I had my pictures uploaded online to show you but I don't. I am sorry.

The other point I will make is that in saying it's a lot more of everything you also need to know, its a lot more of crowds too. But it was fun.

I like the pirate party shows on deck on all of the DCL cruises I have been on.

I hope you are taking other factors into consideration when you choose between the two ships. :thumbsup2

Each has its pros and cons. While I love the aquaduck and turtle talk with crush at animator's palate on the Dream, I like the overall atmosphere of the Magic. Many cruisers new to DCL prefer the Dream, many repeat cruisers prefer the Magic. There is not a right answer.

We also prefer the Magic to the Dream hands down not even considering the pirate parties.....
