2013 Free Dining Watch

No pin for me, though we had one last year for late Nov/early Dec and loved free dining! Anyone know if they tend to give out pins to those who haven't been to Disney recently?

It wasn't the actually group page that posted it. It was someone in the post reply who said it. It was the Disney Addict group. Someone asked when is the cheapest month to visit. And people were saying September. And free dining. And someone said.
"They are full my brother is a cast member and we checked thru him. There also very slim choices for dining which indicates they will be busier than normal in September."

He was responding to someone else saying they're booking up with free dining. Most people were saying. This isn't true.

I feel we get paranoid about bigger crowded being brought in by FD but then it's fine once we get there.

People are still getting new FD reservations. If the brother is a CM and was checking with a CM discount it is entirely different. The whole statement sounds off honestly. If a CM was checking for availability with FD they'd check the same way you or I would.

I imagine it will be busier then usual but I definitely think 'booked up' is a huge stretch. This whole year seems busier than the norm.

I agree ! :)

I called this morning and we do not have a PIN code. However, the CM said to keep checking back. She also sounded optimistic that there would be "some kind" of offer in the fall that would be released in the next 2 months. :goodvibes

That's what I'm hoping ..want to go 1st week in December...got a pin a couple of years ago...wish I could get another! pixiedust:

I was sent a PIN on 5/28 for Free Dining for 8/25-10/2, 10/18-10/31. 11/11-11/23, 11/30-12/4 AND 12/15-12/22....so they may come out to the public.....

No, unless she is going on the trip with you and booking the room. PINS are not transferable.

Or if you live at the same address; my current trip that me and parents are going on was booked on my friends pin code offer as we both share the same address.

I received a PIN in the mail today!! :yay:

I called the TA and gave her the pin code. I wanted to wait to see about the other families that we are travelling with (if they got pins or when it's released to the public) before changing because we are going to have to do our first night as room only because the FD doesn't begin until our second day and will change our touring plans as well.

The TA called Disney to ask some questions with my pin ... then called me while she still had them on the phone. She was able to apply my FD pin for up to 3 reservations... meaning, my reservation and two of the other families that we are travelling with!

So the 3 of us all switched to room only for 11/29 and have FD beginning 11/30 - the rest of the trip !!

:woohoo:

that saved me $1000 ... and the other two $1300

In the past, have PIN dates always matched the offering to the general public? We have taken advantage of free dining before and loved it but the PIN we received has black out dates from Oct 3rd to Oct 18thish and the dates we can travel are Oct 5th-18th. Just wondering if Oct 5th will have a shot.:confused3

So my family and I didn't get the free dining and I was so so bummed but I go the MILs and she says I got a thing from Disney for free dining and I said really?! That's great but it's not transferable and we will just have to pay the money we would have saved and I told her the amount and I was just talking to her I didn't ask anything from her. Would you believe the next day my husband texts me and says oh my mom called and said that there was some extra money from his grandmothers estate that they "forgot" to give us and the total was the exact amount I told her the other day. I just thought that was the greatest thing ever and now I look at it as we got our "free" dining. It was our little pixie dust that we needed. She's awesome my MIL :)

That's fantastic!!! I'm sure the families traveling with you were very happy!!! :goodvibes

I used to get pin codes all the time. Now when I am actually going this fall I get nothing! Ugh....I really need that November free dining pin!

I hope they are still sending them. I even went into both mine and my hubby's accounts and updated them and saved a reservation as well as did the survey at the end...

fingers crossed it might trigger something!

So
If my daughter gets a pin
And she has the same address as me Incan use the
Pin even if she is married and has a different last name?

I had no trouble using the pin that was sent to my friend, who has a different last name, but we share the same address and she is not going on the trip.

So it seems free dining is only being offered during hurricane season except for those who got pins. Still hoping they offer free dining for December...

Got my pin today for November. Can I apply this to an existing reservation? Is there anyway to upgrade to the DxDP for an additional charge?
