We're listed correctly, and on this coming Friday morning we'll be flying down! SO excited. Sitting here having my morning (iced) coffee, listening to the birds sing, and looking forward to getting back to BC!

Dee, seeing the June activities schedule that you posted (thanks:thumbsup2) reminded me -- is the Changing of the Guard at the pool still so much fun? One of our favorite memories of a previous trip was DS getting up to dance with the lifeguards. It's actually worth making a point to be at the pool when this happens (I'm assuming that since they still list it on the activities sheet, they still make it such a fun experience...)

Yes the kiddos loved this when we were 2 weeks ago!!

I did not have a chance to make any posts on the last day of our trip, so I will do so now.

*SNIP*

No one was happy to leave yesterday, but our stay at BC was great. No major complaints whatsoever. My only minor observation would be that I wish they would figure out a way to have more places to sit for breakfast outside the marketplace in the morning. Those two person tables they have outside are not really family friendly, but that is just a minor observation.

This was the second time DW and I had been here, but first time for the kids. After all the fun they had in the pool, I doubt we will ever be able to stay at any other resort again.

What a great final day! Thanks so much for sharing your trip with us!

So glad to hear the whole family loves this resort!

Although I have never personally been in there (another shocker!), I recommend taking your food into the Solarium for a nice relaxing place to enjoy your breakfast from the Marketplace.

:goodvibes

The bar code on the luggage tag has your reservation number tied to it, so you really don't need new luggage tags. You could always take a marker and cross out the old resort name and write in the new one, too, just to be sure. If your reservation number changes, like ours did when we switched from a room only to a package ten days before our check in date, just tell the CM and they will link the old reservation number in the luggage tag bar code to the new reservation number. You can also call the Magical Express service and ask then to send new tags, too. :)

Thanks for posting this info! I did not know that!

Actually, now that I think of it- does the ME tag have the resort name listed or just the resort area. I remember wondering for the longest time why my luggage tags had the initials "AK" for our first onsite stay at AsMu.

:thumbsup2

We are switching from BC to YC because military discount didn't have rooms available at the BC. We've never stayed at the YC so we're excited to try it. Before, we've always stayed at the BC toward the Epcot end and quiet pool. September 14-21 means only 4 months away. I'm a teacher but work part time seeing preschool/daycare kids who have special needs. Because of the part time and the flexibility with seeing kids on my schedule, I am able to take some time off and make it up the week before or after or trip. :rolleyes1

I have you on the list, so I will update your info.

:woohoo:

Too funny, "neighbor"! I start every morning with a cup (or 3) of hot black coffee. Today, I had iced coffee. Last time I had iced coffee as my starter cup was when I was in Disney. We stayed at ASMo for a class trip, and since there was no coffee maker or microwave in the room, I made sure my iced coffee was all prepared in the fridge for my morning stroll to the food court to get my hot coffee.

Have a fantastic trip!!!

:wave2: and :welcome:

The Spirit of Aloha certainly elicited some interesting responses! None positive!

Do you have an upcoming trip you would like to share with us or have you stayed at the resort in the past?

:goodvibes

Thank you for the welcome. We have stayed at Pop, GF, Poly, POFQ, and WL on previous trips. I am planning a surprise trip for my daughter from Feb1-8, 2014.:goodvibes This trip is a celebration of the 10th anniversary of her adoption. :) I hope to book a room at YC CL. I want to book a resort in the EPCOT area so that we can be close to her favorite ride RNR and my favorite park EPCOT.

DW and I did discover the Solarium while the kids were out on their pirate cruise. I am not sure how we missed it before that. I also did not know that there were more tables out the back of the Solarium. That's a good tip for next time.

In regards to the Pirate cruise, I highly recommend it. The kids did it on Wednesday morning and had a blast. Even though it poured on them at the beginning of the trip, they did not complain about getting soaked. Since there was no lightning, the trip continued on. The cast members were great and made sure all the kids had fun. Great way for mom and dad to have a couple hours of quiet time in the middle of the trip.

With less then a week to time to leave, my gall bladder decided to act up. Like everyone else on this board my family have spent months and months planning this trip. So . . . I have rented an electic cart to use, at least in the beginning.

Has anyone ever used one of these carts at the parks? Around the hotel?
I do not think I will need it by the end of the week, but I did just get released yesterday and we are leaving tomorrow.

Ain't nothing going to hold me back!

Disney here I come

Judy

Sorry to hear about your last minute illness!

I have not used a cart, but I will pass along some advice that Teena has given in the past. Recharge your cart in your room overnight, not in the hallways of the resort. There are limited outlets in the hallways, so what can happen is that someone will come along and unplug your vehicle to charge theirs.

You think it has been charging up all night, but when you go to use it in the morning it is out of juice.

Have a fantastic trip!

We were hoping the kids could do the Pirates cruise but they are all sold out during our stay

Ah well. No biggie

I just wanted to share...we are under 45 days to our first YC stay! :cool1:

Looking forward to crossing another resort off my "stayed there" list!

DH and I will be celebrating our 28th anniversary!

I see several going to be there when we are there (6/8-6/15)- major countdown is on, can't wait! Safe travels to all and fingers crossed for good weather!

So excited!!:banana::banana::banana:

We will be at the YC on these same dates. Have a wonderful trip!!

Just wanted to ask how the wait times are at the ESPN Club for this time of year for dinner? Any reviews appreciated. Considering trying it but not sure :scratchin

We went to ESPN on Friday night about 8:45 and walked right in. Once Illuminations finished at Epcot, there was a wait to get in. We wanted to eat at Big River, but the wait there was 50 minutes, and we were hungry after a fun afternoon at SB.

As far as the food, it is your typical sports bar food. Nothing to write home about, but it will do if you are hungry for a meal or want to catch a particular sporting event.

Well we have switched over to the Yacht Club and we love:love: our room. We can look right onto the boat dock and we are by the lighthouse with a view across the lake.

Tonight we ate at Yachtsman and I cried. Good cry. (Story Ahead)........

Dh and I were celebrating our anniv. We had our buttons on. Our server asked us how many years and we told her. I also told her that dh held my hand when I had cancer and was in the coma for 2 days etc.

Well a little into our dinner, she said someone left you this note and wants you to read it. It said:

Life is precious and part of life is bringing a smile to someone you dont know.

Hope you all enjoyed your meal.

Have a wonderful evening.

Someone named Erin.

Dh said he saw that she was sitting and dining by herself. I am so sorry that I didnt notice her. I always have a lot of pain and just getting to the table and walking is sometimes an effort for sure.

I was so touched by this beautiful, wonderful woman. I dont know if she is a diser or not.

Our server said that has only happened once before to her. I told her if she ever saw this young lady again to make sure she told her thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Our server told us she said she does this once a month and picked us because she saw it was our anniv.

What a wonderful magical experience thanks to wonderful Erin:love:

We were exhausted from the heat today. Guess we are not used to this, so we just sat on our balcony and watched Illuminations. The trees obstructed some of the view but we were really happy with what we saw.:)

Tomm. I will stop in and say hi to Teena.

Happy Anniversary and what a wonderful story!

After Sandy Hook the kids and I decided to do one special act in honor for each life lost. The concept came from the Facebook page for the victims of Sandy Hook and they called it Random Acts of Kindness.

I still have two more to go and I purposely left them for my trip to WDW. I created slips of paper has the name of one of the victims and one quote about the victim and I leave one with each random gift.

I'm hoping to find some small Random Acts of Kindness and spread it to my favorite place in the world!

3 1/2 days to go!!!!! :cool1:

LuvMarypoppins: I read your lovely YSH dinner story on the dining board as well - simply awesome!!

1971DBday: I love your generosity and I think your plan to finish you acts of kindness at WDW will be appreciated.

Enjoy your trip!

Hello! Important question I'm dying to know the answer to. This is our first year staying CL at BC. I've read there is beer & wine in the afternoon- but wondering if they offer mimosas in the mornings???

YAYY! It's next month for us too! If it were me picking dinner, I'd vote for Tutto Italia. I just love the shrimp & risotto, with a glass of Pinot Grigio of course.

Yay!!!! Let's do the "Next Month Happy Dance" together!!!

:yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

Shrimp and Pinot Grigio sounds delicious! Thanks for the vote!

Hi...Lurker Here. I find it my duty to come out of lurking and give my opinion about the Spirit of Aloha Show. My daughter and I LOVE disney and have spent 9 wonderful trips there. The one huge disappoint for us has been the Aloha Show. It was a waste of time and money for us. Just my opinion. :mic:

Wow! Thanks for sharing! I haven't heard anything negative or positive about the show before now. I trust your opinion!

I agree. I think the Spirit of Aloha Show is a waste of money. Now Hoop is another story. Love it and the food!!

Another wow! Hoop.....hmmmmm.....Hoop is now on the table as an option!

Doing the happy dance with you! Four weeks from today we will be at BC.

I would pick Tutto Italia - that's definitely one of our favorites and also a "must do". Hate to say it but we were somewhat disappointed in Yachtsman's last year and we did Spirit of Aloha once (never again). Via Napoli is good too - we usually just get pizza though and would pay OOP for that one.

HTH - see you there!

This does help.....Yachtsman's is now off the table. I've heard good things about both Tutto Italia and Via Napoli. Out of the two, I'm leaning towards Tutto so I don't have to pay OOP. Thanks!

Good God woman! This sounds like a plan I, Buzzy the Fly, can go for!!! You better pack those elastic waist band pants 'cause you're gonna need 'em!

I've eaten at all those places so I'll give you the scoop. Forget D and E. BORING!!! So that leaves A, B, and C. You can eat Italian anywhere so do really wanna pay Disney prices for food and not have a little culinary adventure? that Mediterranean menu says fresh and exciting to me! Try it and let us know what you thought. Since it's 10 minutes away from the YC/BC as the fly flys it will be news we can use!

NOM, NOM, NOM!!!! Buzzy the Fly

Well hello there Buzzy! Thanks for taking time out of your "buzzy" day to reply! Yes, packing my elastic waist pants is on my To-do list. Fortunately, with all the walking we do on our WDW trips and the high temps and humidity of Florida in July which leads to less appetites, maybe the elastic waist pants will go unused.

NM - you are so wise
:thumbsup2

Via Napoli! Via Napoli ! VIa Naploli. Do you like Sangria?? Then def. has to be Via. Their Sangria is what I crave:cool1:

Just ordered DH's AP. :cool1: I even told him before I ordered, " you know, if you say yes to the AP you konw you are agreeing to multiple Disney vaca's" and he said " no prob":goodvibes

Yay! Congrats on your husband's AP! This deserves a happy dance! :yay: :cool1: :yay: :cool1:

Sangria......yum! Do they sell Sangria to go?

Yeah! We are going to Hoop de Doo on our Oct trip and I was unsure about it!!!

I have not done Aloha but had another friend who said she was disappointed with it.

Another mark against Aloha. Wow! Thanks for your input!

My daughter wants me to make a reservation every time she visits. The food is good old fashion comfort food ... she loves the ribs and I love the fried chicken. She loves the fact that I drive so she can drink as many beers or wine as she wants. Its all you can eat and drink. I'm allergic to strawberries and told them so they brought me a huge apple shortcake instead. So good!

Hoop has all you can drink for beer and wine, too! Hoop is looking better and better! Thanks for opening my eyes to that! :cool2:

We have done HOOP twice and LOVED it both times. :)
Lisa

Hoop is looking like a clear-cut winner!

Just stopping in to say hi to my YC friends. Caught up on a few posts and totally agree with this; the Spirit of Aloha Show was a big disappointment for us as well. We paid for the best seating category and were stuck behind a pole, the food wasn't great, and the entertainment was just so so imho.

Hope all my BC/YC friends are well! I've been spending numerous hours soaking up knowledge on the Dis Cruise boards as we booked the Fantasy for next May for our 15 year anniversary; concierge level :cool1::cool1:

Sorry to hear you were less than thrilled with Spirit of Aloha. Think of it this way...you took one for the team! Now you're able to save people from going! :)

:wave2: and :welcome:

The negative responses to the Spirit of Aloha were very surprising to me....but it's good to know!

Hello! Important question I'm dying to know the answer to. This is our first year staying CL at BC. I've read there is beer & wine in the afternoon- but wondering if they offer mimosas in the mornings???

Not to my knowledge. They do have orange juice, of course.

I'm not a wine drinker, so I didn't pay attention to the types of wines offered in the evening, but I don't rememember champagne. If champagne is offered, you could always ask in the morning.

And report back about your experience!

What is wrong with me? 27 days left and I'm playing with all the ADRs I made 180 days out!

I am so ready for school and most sports (ds will still be playing on the All Star 12 year old team) to end. I am soooo ready for Disney!

Hope to see some of our BC/YC Dis friends at the Dis Meet in the BC Solarium on July 7!

catho72: Is there a reason that Yachtsman is off the table???

I haven't eaten there, but I do have an ADR for July, am I making a mistake???

I will definitely ask & report back. My fingers are crossed though!
